looking real good man
Thanks Cole, its hot out there today! Hows your day/grow going? Hope all is well.
I’m good can’t complain. Started titrating bloom nutes Sat night. I’m in the stretch with pre flowers. Peace.
Well your bushes look nice and healthy, bet there growing like crazy with the new stretch coming in, looking forward to see the update! Blessings
Speaking of jars, one of the best parts of living in this region is the humidity hovers around 60%, meaning you don’t have to take extra steps to cure your buds. I’ve had some that were cured by hanging them up in a shady spot outside, and the taste and effect were apparently not affected by it.
Sorry you have to deal with so many medical issues. I hope the cannabis is at least taking the edge off. Hell, just growing it is therapeutic.
You’re right about other sites, with the one-upping and self-aggrandizing. For what it’s worth, it doesn’t appear to have rubbed off on you. You have every right and reason to be proud of what you’ve accomplished. It doesn’t become reprehensible until you start making others feel bad, which you have not. I’m also new to OG, and totally digging the vibe here. I’ve not seen a better collection of information and insight anywhere else.
Been in trim jail all day today. Will post some pics in my thread.
Well that and walking the next dog we have for this week.
A Rottweiler, very young, sweet heart, but has a very mischievous side to him, that I love, TBH.
On a gardening note, are you folks getting that Spotted Lantern Fly?
2 weeks ago, I did not any of them. This past week, I killed 50-60 of them. Oddly, none on my vegetable garden, nor the ornamentals, just under my pole building lean to. They love the T-11 siding I installed up under it.
Lol…out with the woman getting dog food, driving her crazy with this…Listen to Rick & Morty - The Recipe For Concentrated Dark Matter (WBBL & Father Funk Remix) [FREE DOWNLOAD] by Father Funk on #SoundCloud
Making me want to catch up on the show, sooo good!
Cool hat .
Definitely made the photo…lol…sittin here on the supermarket check out line…kicking us out!
Thank you brother @Herrsquidward for the uplifting words. Thats an excellent way to look at it and Im just feeling blessed to have found all my peeps here. I am so very appreciative of all of the wisdom and input, the stories and life experiences shared. And I have just started to branch out and look around these pages and all I can say is that I am humbled everytime I do. So much talent and experience
On a side note, I have more plumbing issues going on down stairs(we just had a new pressure tank installed and a week later the carpet is still soaking wet down there so Im going to cut it out to see whats going on) and along with that and the usual chores that all must get done, I have been alittle overwhelmed and hence, have not been able to post as much as I like, probably a good thing as posting the same pictures of the garden gets old for me too lol, though Im keeping an eye out for anything special as always.
I did take down my forth plant recently so I should have something new going on soon, a buddy is holding a nice Banana Berry Muffins female thats ready to go into flower, Im thinking of moving her back home since he said he could use the space…so maybe an instant flowering plant in the near future…I used a male from the same pack to pollinate a shit ton of stuff this spring/early summer so I really want to see what the female tends to grow like before I get into the offspring…kind of backwards but he was just that nice and the opportunity was there and Im so glad I got some seeds in so I can stop worrying about whats new and what I dont have, I know you guys get it, once you make your own seed its like you alone have something special, even if its not the best, its yours, there’s just something about it and now I just dont even pay attention to the hype train, for we’re the conductors now! Cant wait to see what comes out. Autos and photos. So the plan with this outdoor grow was to be able to pack up enough product that will get me through a couple of months so I can really mess around with the new beans. So far so good.
And Webe, no I have not seen the Lantern flies myself, heard about them, but now that you gave confirmation, Ill keep a keener eye out. Hope your new friend is keeping you on your toes! So kind of you to spend time with all these pups, Im sure it is hard to see them go but you know how much you have helped them and thats all that matters
Above is the “grave yard” a big pile of old rotting mulch that Ive been just throughing anything and everything in there(I have compost bins elsewhere), I use this to top dress the other garden and potted plants, but it also has its own wild assortment of plants growing out of it, a bunch of cherry tomatoes from the seeds from last years plant, for the longest time I was pulling up young tomato plants this spring/earlysummer saying “why are there sooo many weeds in here this year?!” finally I took a closer look at em and realized what Id been doing…lol…its times like that when I realize just how little I know…theres a potted money tree thats acting as a trellis for one of the larger tomato plants(not sure if its in the pics). Growing in different places and in different ways as many different new species and cultivars as possible really helps one to get a better understanding of what the plants want and need. I put so little effort into this pile yet it still has produced plenty of produce this year and last. Hope everyone is safe and happy today.
Next time I find this…
I wont remove it, but I’ll snip off the branch that it has already eaten through! and place far away from garden, this time I removed it and relocated it, did not kill it as I correctly thought these were some type of wasp “eggs”, just hadn’t done any research yet, hopefully the young wasps will still develop and do what they were ment to do…
That plant was perfect this morning!
Damn, I must have missed them for a while as I now see they had already hit the garden from the previous pictures…Momma aint gonna be happy with that one but luckily there are a few more spread around, gotbto keep my eyes peeled, getting past me…smh
Are they still hitting you guys? I thought I had gotten past hornworms for the most part, looks like their on their way out though…no biggie, luckily, tomatoes are fully legal and cheap!
Some sweet tunes if you need a pump up…

Those damned tomato worms…
Hey Dendro, I’ve not had any on my 2 tomato plants this year. Last year, I had to go out every morning, picking horn’s off the tomatoes. I toss them in a bucket of water, as I want the eggs dead also. I’ll let the other billion of them repopulate, so there will be plenty around.
As far as the dogs go, THEY heal me, if I help them, better yet.
Well I’m out of wide mouth Mason jars, so now all the stuff I have that has cured in those jars, will be put into seal a meal tubes, then into the freezer to stop the cure.
Most of it went into the jars back in March-May.
Then I can refill the jars when I snip the buds from the drying stalks, Thursday or Friday. Damn canning jars got expensive!!! I’ve not bought any for many years now, so seal a meal to the rescue!!
Take care!
Been out of town for the last couple days for work. Missed the garden and garden talk.
Things are looking nice there! I’ve never seen the infected worm but certainly the normal kind. Last fall, I was naive to them and left them alone. I’d see them on the tomatoes or cannabis, and leave them be. The pot grew aggressively enough that it never really caused much issues until…harvest. And throwing SO much away to bud rot. It was several learning experiences rolled into one. I’ve had a pretty healthy IPM routine as a result, this season anyway. Neem/rare spinosad/starting with the BT ocassionally. And when I spotted worms on my tomatoes, pulled them off. I took care of some aphids on my peppers just by washing them down and spraying with some soap solution. The damn squash beetles are the only thing thus far to evade the organic methods.
I’m curious about your auto crosses. I am often on long drives for work and listen to meet-the-breeder style podcasts where the question always gets asked “how should I start breeding?” The answer is universally, “use the things you like.” I have to say, despite the fact that I haven’t smoked her yet, my SAD Fast (Sweet Seeds) is my favorite plant in several ways, so far anyway. It started flowering mid June, so it’s nearing harvest now. It may actually be done before the Critical Kush Auto, which keeps throwing out new buds and white pistils. It’s the standard version of the SAD (Black Domina) crossed with the Auto version of the same to produce a semi-autoflower. It’s many times the size of an auto but still had a slow auto flowering start. It’s compact but generous size would be a good match to my minimal consumption habits, and will harvest before I have to worry about conventional harvest issues in my area (caterpillars, thieves, pollination by other growers). I’ve been keeping a log of dates just to see where things are at, and how they compare to the breeder info. This plant is on the top of the list.
Apparently, the auto genes aren’t probably going to largely expressed in the first cross. Like we’ve discussed, book learning isn’t always the best way, and experiments are more fun anyway. As I understand it, because it’s recessive, call it aa, an Auto(aa)/Photo(AA) cross “according to the book” will be a 1/4 auto expression in the F2 generation (1/4 AA, 1/2 Aa, 1/4 aa). F1 would produce uniform Aa expression. My F1 SAD half/half photo/autos are clearly impacted by the auto genes though, which would make “sense” to me in that you’ll have that mix of flower genes. But I haven’t spent nearly as much time researching breeding, my goal is learning to first grow a good crop, then I could pursue breeding. I’d also love to breed for a certain bag of weed I got almost 20 years ago, that is unidentified but vivid in my memory. Favorite bag ever.
Cheers guys, have a great day!
