I don’t usually leave it overnight but I forgot, in the freezer with cold jars and ingredients (in there for 24 hours or more before washing) I haven’t seen anything but golden wash yet with 190 proof grain alcohol.
Got in the flower tent this morning to move some plants around and check on the White Tigers in the back. Everyone is chunking up very well, Icy Grape giving off pure grape candy/Welch’s concentrate, Cindy is stinky grapefruit/pineapple so far. I had a chance to get some good glamour shots of the whole plants and touch them up to correct the severe shift the red LEDs give all my photos. One of these days I’ll make a little photo studio down there for photographing plants and also stuff to sell online. Harvest pics coming soon, definitely the C99 first and maybe Icy Grape at the same time, though I’m going to try and stagger the harvests a bit so I can fit it all in the dry box, haven’t gotten around to making another yet. Until then, enjoy these:
Nice frost on those looking really nice
Jeez man, “icy” is appropriate for those girls, looks like a snow storm hit em
Looking fantastic!
Pruned up the veg tent, got some photos of the @SCJedi Blackwater/Apollo crosses afterwards:
Daily macro update:
C99 will come down Saturday morning at 61 days
Icy Grape goes next week sometime after C99 gets a few days in the dry box to kick it off before I hang it in the attic. That’s my plan this time, is try to stagger the plant harvests as I can to get the initial dry controlled before putting stuff in the plastic tent.
White Tigers might make it till next weekend, which will be 70 days on Sunday.
I turned the lights to 11/13 a few days ago and turned down the lights a bit, time to get this tent cleared out in the next ten days or less.
After the Blackwater/Apollo, OG Mix, and Cherry Unicorn clear the veg tent, I’ll be cracking a pack for testing from Copa Genetics. It will be a cross of Black Lime Reserve (Skunktek cut) to their new release GSD F5, a line worked and multiply tested version of Bodhi’s GG#4xSSDD freebie from five years ago I think I’m going to crack all ten, and select the best three females to flower out. If I get more than that I’ll find a friend locally who wants a plant or two to put out since the timing should be about right.
Just came across your factory @Dirt_Wizard , jumping back to read it fully, keep up the good work!
Tester pack arrived! Along with a little gift of some Purple Moonshine from @Enjoi802 which will be fun to check out after this test run, and I love the stealth packaging, I’ll remember the Bic trick:
Did you look up the purple moonshine? I did. I’m going to run that one too.
Yes, I’m interested in seeing what Mel’s GDP x DJ’s Old Time Moonshine comes out like, sounds delicious to me
Ikr! Sounds like solid gold
Just harvested a quart of C99 lowers for some fresh frozen tincture, hoping for a nice energetic mood enhancer for the morning. I might put another one away too before drying, I have a feeling this will be a good one. Lowers are loose/larfy but with distinct bud formation and good frost, I’m pretty convinced of the benefits from rotating plants and using the Buddies for undercanopy edge lighting, I also put a reflector in the middle of the tent on the floor for a while to reflect back up to the lowers and I think that’s worth pursuing again in the future. Maybe pot covers made out of Reflectix like I see some folks using?
Yeah that’s how I do it. All the popcorns or lowers they’re still covered in resins.
And freezing fresh like that gives much better terps and overall extract I think.
I’m patiently waiting n I’ll be making pine , orange and chocolate qwet. Instead of mixing it all up like I usually do I think Im gonna make separate batches for first time. Get to really taste each ones terp profile.
And that’s one down, washed and drip drying before it gets transferred into the dry box tonight. Not sure exactly how much I’m looking at in the end, but it should be at least a few ounces, hoping for 120g+ dried and trimmed.
Updates from Day 66:
-Icy Grape is coming down in the AM @ 67 days for a wash, deleafing, and a rough trim, then going into the auto dry box. It’s showing mostly milky trichs and about 5-10% amber as of yesterday. C99 will be coming out after five days at 60% and getting shifted into paper bags for the second half of the dry and sweat. IG is going to stay in there until it’s done. Definitely need to make a larger or second dry box for next harvest, it’s really the only way I want to do it going forward.
-White Tigers will get the cut Sunday morning @ 70 days and be hung in the attic drying tent after a wash, no trim. It’s dry and cold up there right now with our NE winter so I’ll be putting a tray of water in there ala @DougDawson to keep the humidity up if I don’t find new wicks for my humidifier first. These are a lot less terpy than the C99 or IG so I’m not as concerned about a perfect slow dry, though I’ll try my best. Looking to be a serious harvest off those as they keep thickening up and starting to throw some foxtail structure, definitely glad I’m taking them the full ten weeks.
-Next round of seeds are sanded and soaking in H202 solution, I’m putting down seven testers of Black Lime Reserve x GSD F6 for Copa, alongside my Cherry Unicorn clone (assuming the original plant flowers nicely) and two of @Tonygreen Gorilla Bubble BX5 S1 fems. This is going to be my last run before shutting down for the midsummer and fall, so they’ll end up in both tents as I convert veg to a second flowering tent. Probably doing the 4x4 all BLR x GSD, as long as I get 3-4 females, and the 3x4 with the GB and CU. If there is room in the 4x4 the CU will go in there and I’ll spread out the GB more. This will be my first time growing any GG4 crosses, so I’m interested to see how the two lines compare and differ. I’ve stayed away from it until now because of the reputation for instability, but between having my grow environment more controlled and accessing these highly worked lines of GG4, I think it’s going to be pretty good. I do miss the potency of a good Glue especially when it’s got that little chocolate overtone in the flavor.
