To me it really doesn’t matter as I never had the chance to smoke that in the 70s anyway but also I don’t particular like opium or opiates at all, just isn’t my kind of high. I tried it though and smoking opium as I know it mixed with hash or dried flowers is not at all as good as smoking it in a proper pipe. It’s quite a powerful drug and to me not very similar to a cannabis high. I do however agree that smoking opium is more enjoyable if you also smoke cannabis but not necessarily in the same pipe or joint. But I have always been curious how they would physically do that mixing the two like dipping or lacing.
Hash oil also is one of those things that I think would be a very wasteful way of dispensing of the product and it would take more plants to make the oil than flowers for the sticks to dip. It wouldn’t mix to all layers of the sticks which would make it some sort of oil incapsulated weed so only when breaking the outer layer one would get the oil. I did see someone do something similar though in modern times. It was an article so I only saw pictures but they had seemingly poured oil on cannabis flowers tied to sticks. Oil doesn’t burn the same as weed either, much slower also hash when some people roll a thin string of good hash and puts it in a joint it just stands up in the middle of the joint still glowing while the weed burnt much faster. I would think it would be a kind of wasteful way to smoke oil but I have always been pretty practical with hash and oil as a small piece of it, smoked efficiently, could get you very high.
Really good thai or other south east asian weed grown in this climate under the sun usually doesn’t need to be laced, lol, but that’s just me. I love that kind of smoke. It’s so nice when it’s good. There’s something special about smoking it in the same climate too, maybe on a beach or by a waterfall just playing around.
Never know if it was COB cured this one type I got for quite a while at this other place I used to live on an island. It was much fresher and like savory and almost moist every time I got it. It was always good but sometimes it would be exceptional actually and always this freshness to it which is hard here so I suspected they had done something different with that post harvest but I don’t know for sure. It was just better for a longer time than most weed in this climate.
