Easy Bubblehash

Holy crap! how big are those bags? I’ve only seen 5 gal sets…

Pretty damn huge :stuck_out_tongue: I have a post on this thread 11 days ago that shows the 32gal bin filled with some weed. I had to cut off the handles of the brutes though because they were making it hard for the bags to go around without stretching. I got scared of ripping them so took the saw to the handles and it worked way better after.

Got these rosin evolution bags on black Friday from lowtemp plates site. Ended up being cheaper than the actual companies site. The 32 gal set was only like 50-60 usd more than the 20 so went with the large one instead. What I saved basically paid for the international shipping to Canada and helped with the bite of the exchange rate.

Was inspired to give this a shot and glad I did. Purchased the all mesh bubblebaddude bags off amazon. Decided to hand churn it with a brew paddle 15 min mix, 20 min rest, 15 min mix. Used some bone dry plants hanging in my garage from this past outdoor grow so wasn’t expecting much in quality but seems to have turned out pretty decent for a first go. Lots of good info here and in JoeCrowe’s threads which is recommended reading. Appreciate all for sharing!

Will do. Chopped a Grape Punch yesterday and will be putting it through the machine to see what I get. I will post the process when I do it whether I do well or fail miserably  Here is what will be going into it thus far. All but that one nug I am holding since I had to keep one bud to smoke just on principal.

I do exactly this, but I mix the ice/weed in a separate bucket to avoid putting holes in the bags and then tip the slurry into the bags. Next time around I have a fair amount to do and am going to try using a clean cement mixer😬

Figured I would try my hand at making some dab. I tried to get a fairly good press but I guess time will tell.
I have never messed with this process so if someone could steer me to a good thread I would appreciate it.

Anyone know what this is for?

Looks like a nice setup.

Looks like a silicone mat.

Yes it is, but what’s it for?

I think it’s just to a surface to work on when the rosin is on parchment. Spilled rosin comes off silicone easier than most other surfaces.

Thank you, I just looked it up and read it was to protect the surface of whatever I was working on.

Have the older version of the dabpress. Nice rig @Oldjoints . That girl will do the job.

So I made bubble hash for the first time and wow rookie mistakes abound. Anyways once I was done I squeezed the hell out of the hash and put in the freezer that was 3 weeks ago. Ive tried grinding it into powder with numerous contraptions and it won’t break down. Now I have these weird colored hash balls that won’t break down. There is a lot of small plant matter in the. Would that cause this? Any help would be great.

Have no idea what you did but what you can try is to take a lighter and put it under the hash about an inch or so. You don’t want to get the hash on fire just heat it up and make it flexible.
Just do a small area at a time and that should work for you.
Let me know if that helps or not……

Once you’ve smushed it together you’re pretty much committed.

I’m not good at making it but I would think any plant matter in your product is because the screen is too big,I think all plant matter is seperated by the time it goes to 160 and you need that bag to filter it all out. Also I think it needs to be in a sealed container if you put it in the fridge or it will dry it out if you leave it in too long,if you didn’t put it in one.I keep 73,90 and 120,the lower screen gets you immature trichromes giving a flashy short duration. Again I haven’t made much but I did sample each screen and this was my experience.

No there was plant matter because I didn’t properly clean my bags from when I made dry ice hash. Also I have 1 gal bags (dumbest thing I’ve ever bought) which tend to fall when shaking so things slip through real pita need to get 5 gal bags. Ok @Foreigner what can I do at this point? Did the freezer get most of water out? Do I just let it cure more? Complete noob at a loss so any advice helps.

You could try pressing it. I’m not sure how well that will work.

If it were me I’d accept it for what it is and maybe do it differently next time. I expect it smokes fine.

Was it relatively dry when you jammed it together?

I can’t say much about the freezer because I don’t use it.

And yes 5g bags for sure.

I agree with @Foreigner. Lessons learned.
But…you could try chopping it up real fine and drying some more, then pushing it back together with something like a pollen press.

Next time spin the bag like aeroplane propellor to get most of water out
Then chop into tiny pieces , then spread on parchment paper on tray then into freezer : )

Get her lit , that’s what I would do , yum
: )
