I voted to legalize in MA and on that same ballot was another thing that stopped puppy mills. A buddy of mine spent months organizing and getting signatures just to get it on the ballot.
I know, I’m from MA, but had just moved out when the referendum first came up (if I remember correctly there was a non-binding referendum, then a year or two later a binding one?)
It was really surprising to me when I realized voter ballot initiatives aren’t an option in every state.
I don’t quite remember all of the details. It was awhile ago but there were a couple of attempts, as you’ve noted. The first attempt was opening the door for the more significant result.
yes we should. that does not include what you are doing in some cases here. not in all cases, and i agree with your premise if not the exact propositions.
sometimes stirring the shit is a good thing. sometimes it isn’t. see, growing your own weed is not that important to very many people, legal or not. what you should be doing is figuring out how to bring together those who think it’s important, not antagonizing them. if the whole thing works out just like you say it will with pharmacies running the show, schedule 3, and illegal home grows, it changes not one damned thing for me, or a lot of others. i can still go get smoke at the store and grow whatever i need to illegally if i so choose. i may choose to stop this forum if that happens, but probably not even that. something to think about.
Funniest shit I’ve seen all day.
You’d be better off writing editorials to submit to the rags or organizing events locally. Particularly in election years.
Harassing congresscritters will relegate your effort to the trashbin and would likely have the opposite effect. Imagine if a couple of madhatters joined in on the fun.
If you really want them to listen, one or more: (1) request a meeting and tell them you’d like to travel to DC in person (2) donate to their campaigns (buy them) (3) organize a group for a trip to DC + request media.
You have made some good points but please be aware of the fact I do my best not to antagonize anyone, but as you see here and very clearly, there are folks that are here mainly to antagonize me.
If you disagree just look at the recent post.
It is always the same folks, they add very little to the content of the thread and usually resort to personal attacks.
This action is habitual.
So take that for what it is worth.
Also please consider the fact that several members here like to stick together and all start with the personal attacks at the same time.
My reaction to this may look like I am antgonising them but maybe I am just defending myself and my position the only way I know how.
I truly try my best to be nice to everyone, even the folks I dislike.
But when you corner a dog you might get bit.
Something to consider anyway.
This is my take on things, not meant as advice.
Shag, are you still taking the victim mentality? You also don’t seem to acknowledge that you’re creating your own antagonists.
You just completely blew past the topical discussion and instead decided to focus on sfzombie’s response, picked a single phrase directed to you suggesting a different tone, glossed over the underlying message, and then went on a victimhood rant.
It’s almost as though you’re seeking those opportunities. Just a short while ago you were blaming the moderation team for, hell if I know.
The last post just blows up the opportunity to reset the conversation and any good will.
The moderation team let know that you should change your tact. Flag posts that are persistently inflammatory or harassing.
This x1000. It’s been shown that phone calls and emails and letters… don’t do that much. Actually meeting with one of your representatives… that makes a difference.
My senators and rep are all pro reform anyway.
I*m sorry but I’m still laughing at this …
This one made me laugh…https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ok3YcCVVfBU&pp=ygUjdGltIGhhd2tpbnMgdGhlIGdvdmVybm1lbnQgY2FuIGxpdmU%3D
Thought so Sygenta just got kicked out of Arkansas and we’re told to sell all the farmland they own there. It’s about dam time somebody is waking up
Well said brother!
This is truly good news.
The Department of Defence has designated Syngenta as a Chinese military company.
2 min. in…
Let’s just say more folks need to wake up to what is happening around them.
These are not the type of folks we want running the cannabis industry.
I think it’s funny when we say the system doesn’t work put in reality it works really well for those that are running the system.
I like how they say that these logarithms follow our behaviors and track them and retrieve the information that they think we would most like to read, I find that incredibly brilliant it perfectly describes how people can be ok with censorship and like it or just accept it .
I like how President Trump can raise these incredibly large tariffs on China, and think that that is brilliant for when China turns around and raises all of its prices, we end up paying higher prices, do to an indirect tax from Trump or Tariffs whatever you wanna call it Brilliant!
Theres a group buying up so much land around Travis AFB here in CA and then some politician from here said “it could be China.” It ended up being silicon valley tech executives trying to create their own town without the people/things they do not want. Of course anyone can buy anything here. There’s an island for sale near me for 75 million. If it is a foreign entity/person they will just use a shell company or a person here to sign for it. The largest holder of farmland is Bill Gates and the list goes on. I’m sure they’d want you to be worried about some chinese threat while they(being large US stakeholders) buy up/already own all the land. Most of the foreign investment from China in US has already been sold off in recent years.
unless your crooked governor invites them in, like in wv, or your crooked congressman marries directly in, cutting out the middleman, like in ky.
Elaine Chao was born in Taiwan. McConnell may be corrupt or crooked or what have you, but I don’t see what being married to Elaine Chao would have to do with Chinese investors buying in the US.
People are really playing fast and loose with the political talk in here.
Beware the TOS.
i stand corrected. it seems we are all susceptible to misinformation. it’s not political calling your governor crooked, is it? he owes over 5 million in taxes, refuses to live in the governor’s mansion as required by law, and has not divested interest in businesses also as required by law. yet he gets elected governor, then re-elected, while my $1200 tax bill prevents me from renewing my business license. it is a little off-topic though, so i will refrain from any more of it.
The raw milk issue is a little tax issue not a health safety issue. You can’t hide revenue from milk if it has to be pasteurized.
Politicians most of whom hold a law degree always operate under different set of laws. They are exempt from insider trade laws on Wall Street. Their health care and pension is separate from the rest of the citizens.
I personally believe these are all legitimate concerns moving forward. Time will tell unfortunately if it’s foresight or chicken little.
Earlier we discussed home brew and alcohol legalization. Home brew was allowed 40 years after the end of prohibition. So the possibility that homegrow is outlawed with federal law moving forward does exist.
