Could be off base, but I presumed @sfzombie13 meant the government’s motivation behind the (potential) change to Schedule III?
You could be right.
A few more words may have made it clear what he meant.
I couldn’t agree more with you.
I don’t believe in compromising on my rights. Once they’re taken, we only get them back with money and forgoing other civil liberties. Short term compromises lead to long term consequences.
i meant what i said. wondering the agenda behind the continuing fearmongering rather than trying to do some things that may actually work. fearmongering only works taking rights away, not keeping them.
Maybe I’m being dim, but who’s doing the fearmongering?
So to cut it short, legalization is good for the smokers but not so good for the original growers. Bureaucracy scares many cultivators but it certainly does not scare those after the dockets. Here in Holland they kick you out of the house for growing as few as five plants, so things could be worse.
It’s bad for everyone. The current farmers bill they’re trying to push is going after seed distribution.
You call it feamongering, I call it awareness.
I guess folks need to decide for themselve what is fearmongering and what is awareness.
If you speak on it, and it is true…can that really be called fearmongering?
The public must decide this, not me or you.
Good call!
This is true but some folks here still claim it is fearmongering.
Is it? Or is it simply tightening rules about what qualifies as hemp under the farm bill? Seems to me the momentary “freedom” seed makers enjoyed was taking advantage of a loophole accidentally written into the law.
can you provide a link to this please? can’t find anything about it
This may help…Thanks to @gonzo for the video
thank you. just glanced, and will watch video shortly BUT curious on how they can tell how much thc a plant contains that created whatever seed they find? I guess any seed found in the mail would have to be traced back to the grow it originated from then plants tested? sounds like a lot of work to me lol
Optimistic view: They won’t care.
Pessimistic view: force seed retailers to do lisencing and testing, on their dime, in order to get a stamp of approval. Cannabis/hemp seeds shipped without the stamp or found pretending to be another product will be some sort of crime with a high penalty.
The space in between contains many options as well. I’d rather see a national adoption of Alaskas Ravin act Ravin v. State - Wikipedia
I am a cautious optimist at heart, but I also have a heavy “Howard Zinn” influenced view of American history.
Would definitely not hurt my personal industry.
I’ll keep on keeping on like I been doing for over 40 years.
Be like the 3 monkeys…see no cannabis…hear no cannabis…and most important #3 speak to no one about ya business…
Do these 3 things and never …well. 99.9%. Of the time that is …get busted:grin:
so i’m not part of the public? and yes, it can. just like things that are true are still propaganda when used to control people and make them do things that you want them to. using the truth, or small portions of truth (i noticed a whole lot of maybes and mights in your true information, things that are not necessarily done now and may not ever be done), to make statements that cannot be called true any longer. i know because i’m pretty good at it and find it real easy to spot. there are also a lot of overly sensitive folks on here. not you, they know who they are.
My State has just recently gone legal. The next day they tried to ban home grow. The day after that they had their ass handed to them by the citizens. So now they are getting sneaky. They want to force home growers to buy seeds at a legal dispensary. The government will decide which seeds can be legally sold. They will only sell low grade “ditch weed” seeds so that people wont bother with growing their own smoke and have to buy government taxed pot. I am trying to aquire as many elite genetics as I can before that happens.
i know one thing for a fact and that is they will never be able to stop anyone from shipping seeds. it’s been done since there were seeds to be shipped and will be done in mostly the same or similar ways if and when it becomes illegal again. much the same as growing. that’s why it’s all hype, aka fearmongering. sure, it may well be illegal to grow pot in the us in the future again, but i’ll be damned if that has stopped it. we may not be able to do it out in the open but once the cat’s out of the bag it is extremely hard if not impossible to get it back in.
Something like a $100,000 fine and 20 years in prison would be a good deterrent for most.
If you can buy it in a store and growing your own will get you 20 years in prison…
I think myself and many others would choose to buy it at the store.
Same with seeds, today you get a letter in the mail saying your seeds got grabbed.
What if they now come to your house and take you to prison for say 10-15 years.
I truly feel that will deter most people from sending seeds.
Hell, my first time sending seed to Canada I was a nervous wreck.
That was just last year…LOL
There will be those who will still do it.
Those with balls of steel.
Then there will be those that get caught and displayed on the news for us all to see.
This will deter most people from breaking the law.
If you can buy it at the store…
I wonder how many folks would still grow if the chances of getting caught were pretty good and the penalties were stiff?
The war on home growing is real.
mmm I think if the USA government could get rid of “Moral turpitude” as a crime, I think that would make some major advancements. See the problem is when I go to the border, they ask you if you’ve ever smoked weed. IF you say yes, then you’re guilty of moral turpitude. LOL!!!
