I was also sleeping on it since getting a freebie or two of it with my FDM orders, I knew it was quality from the lineage, but I was more focused on the heirloom lines and using the breeder mixes to try some experiments and observe the differences between parent and child. For example growing FDM C99 side by side with the Cindy Breeders Mix made it really obvious what C99 does in hybrids, totally worthwhile and I encourage folks to do that more! I popped the Janis because I figured I should give B’s originals a try after my luck with the breeders mixes, I keep finding plants I like a lot in those discarded projects and superseded lines. Shows me what he’s looking for vs working through to something better.
The density and frost that the Widow brought to this is really impressive, I don’t know much about Silver Pearl, would actually really appreciate if @Baudelaire could comment on what she brings as a genetic contribution to Janis? I do know the old good Blueberry and Widow, and this is an excellent mix of the two with something extra. Certainly the way she grows and buds out looks like some of the most fire indica-dom blueberry lines I’ve seen, not the wispy and sativa-shaped blueberries.
Silver Pearl is an old Sensi hybrid from the mid-1990s that was a cross between Early Pearl and Northern Lights 5. You can read more about it here. It was billed as a short-maturation sativa-dominant hybrid, probably of highland Mexican origin. It adds a nice sativa head to Janis, plus mold and PM resistance, without pushing maturation out beyond the 70 day mark. Under-utilized by breeders in my estimate.
When I joined this forum several months ago, I came across a thread bout FDM and it was the first breeder’s website I ever bookmarked. I’m new at this and only growing feminized seeds because of space and knowledge limitations but I promised myself that once I had the room to do it and the confidence for weeding out possible males that these will be the first regulars I want to grow. Specifically the Ibg, now thanks to all the sharing in this thread, I think the sweet tooth might be more up my alley. Thanks to all of you for the sharing of info and experiences.
We are here to help when you need some help identifying males or females. Everyone here had a start to this hobby that was bumpy and full of learning moments. I have Fleur de Mal’s og mix and Bubblegum mix I hope to get to soon.
I uploaded a pic of my sweet tooth#4 on seedfinder if you’re interested. Full of resin…absolutely beautiful to watch growing and the smoke was nice too in the end.
I can also recommend his c99.
I love the smoke of this one. Great for me relaxing but not sedating, giggly if you smoke too much. Big hit at social events I usually bring a few joints of this to pass around. I think you’ll be happy with it.
Outdoors she was very hardy and resistant to pretty much everything. Didn’t encounter any memorable issues whatsoever with her. This was the BX2, I already ordered another pack of the BX3 to keep in the vault.
Aw hell man…ya’ll pulling me back and forth between the IBG and the sweet tooth lol. Here I am on my 3rd grow with 4th and 5th runs sort of planned out and now these are both are on my radar, guess I’m discovering this is an issue lots of you have. Clearly I need more growing room! Heh!
ohh yeah silver pearl was my favorite. there was some great bud of that in Central NY held about 10-15 years ago. the classics are classic for a reason !!!
