Definitely not just you. If I’m honest, the biggest reason I held off on a grow log was because once I start it, it’s out there for everyone to see my successes and mistakes. I usually have most of my issues early in veg and by the time I flip, they require so much in terms of nutes, they explode and I can relax. But not always.
If one screams out for something else they all get it. They’re maybe a little bitchier in smaller pots too but that’s just my conjecture.
I appreciate watching good mistakes. Anyone who says they don’t make them is full of shit. Sometimes it’s not even your fault. Some plants have no feelings and some are very sensitive and there’s nothing to be done about it. I just hope that they show themselves in veg so I can cull them.
I’ve made some tough decisions in veg because I knew I’d be chasing my tail the whole time if I didn’t. I’m talking about you, Sour Strawberry.
Amen to that.
I know I make plenty.
Nice to hear buddy! Stay tuned on my thread. I’ll be attempting to correct a few! I’m not a happy camper with this new promix im using. Rapid ph fluctuations, lockout and starving plants! I figure I’ll fix them or kill them! looking good @Foreigner nothing a rolling paper can’t fix in the end!
Don’t fix it in your end…. Ah never mind you get me.
Don’t take my word for it because our inputs are probably quite different but I think, on my end, that Promix is very acidic and my water is pretty neutral so when the pots are damp the pH is perfect but if they dry out too hard it all goes to shit.
That’s my working theory at least.
Yep! I definitely have been documenting mine. Like that quote I think I saw in here earlier? I didn’t make a mistake, I found 10,000 ways it doesn’t work.
Another one I liked, I can’t remember who said it, was “if you’re not making mistakes you’re not trying hard enough.”
I’ve heard this about peatbased but haven’t really experienced it. I started with several bags of ffof a few years ago and all was well. Then expanded and mixed in some happy frog then some coco loco. After that it was getting weak so I started mixing in concentrated compost and it became a living super soil. That’s has been fantastic! I hardly do anything. This run was another expansion so picked up this.
I don’t like it or I’m doing it wrong or something. Maybe it doesn’t like me. Hell I’ve been pretty nice to it considering. I’ll probably just mix this in with everything else and continue my old regime. But first to see if I can save 6-8 plants I have in it already. Looks like I’ll be doing some of that mixing nutes for individual plants myself for a while. C’est la vie.
I also like. “It’s not how good you are. It’s how good you are at fixing your mistakes.”
Speak for yourself.
I’m a bad gardener deliberately. Occasionally I pull off a nice plant here and there, but that’s by mistake.
When I was younger I was part of a paramilitary organization called the “Boy Scouts” which is where all this “do your best” shit comes from.
Those bastards got to you too did they? I’m happy at least my troop leaders weren’t fixing anything in any ends! At least not that I know of… maybe there was something wrong on my end?
I am however still waiting on my “go get me a beer.” badge.
I was a Royal Ranger for about a year. Not long enough to drink the cool aid.
im amazed that you can keep the runoff from dropping on the neighbors below lol
It’s definitely not just you. I’ll never mix up a special batch of water just for one or two plants. They get what they get (which is usually just water haha).
If it wasn’t for curve balls I would never learn anything.
love you foreigner.
you make me laugh so much.
Thanks basil, appreciated.
But can he do this?
(P.S. If you can do this, please post instructions. I cannot).
You know damn well I lost my thumbs in a freak scythe accident back in ‘94 and that’s not funny.
