Fort Bragg Funky, Skunky 80s Baby

Very true, but we don’t know how many generations old this particular skunk is, do we? I know it was an eighties skunk So it’s possible it already has a number of generations under its belt. I don’t remember. I just remember It had never been outcrossed. I’ll be very curious to see if this generation looks like the previous one. Thanks again for running these @Kushking902!

Black gold castings have gnats, too. So annoying. Just a reminder. I know I said it before.
@drgreensleeves These are really looking good!

Sorry I missed this question. There is a correlation. Sativas that flower 13-16 weeks sex at week 5 or so (of flowering from seed)Lambsbread goes 23 weeks ( again, from seed)and pre sexes at week 8 or 9 of flowering.
So, roughly, they sex one third of the way thru flowering.
Seems consistent. I have another 23+ weeker going, and it’s also sexing at week 9+ of flowering.
I’ll pay more attention. This is great info if consistent.

If I remember correctly the FB RKS was taken several generations before release. Not sure the exact number but I specifically remember “early gens were SO VIGOROUS but all over the place with the odd monster producing almost landrace growth potential “ it was years back but I specifically remember this conversation.

Learned this crap so many times over the years, the gifts given by cheap soil are ones that keep on giving :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I know, what you mean. It would be nice to know what the generation is. I know the seed run I had several plants with the same double serrations and the males that showed up were very nice with big tight clusters.

Really wish we could have made that last trip out there. you never know when the last time you will lay eyes on someone is :disappointed: RIP Jim :facepunch:t2:

And see that fits right into this theory I got that it’s like a really good haze the “magic” is in the 5% at least that’s what Im going to find out  but until then what are your thoughts on it? @TopShelfTrees1 thanks for your time and patience PS and I’m picking up alot of loud vapory onions (stem rubs) and the voc is a sulfer compound just like skunk voc so Im thinking it’s a precursor, bud is starting to set now so I will know more in a couple weeks:)

You knew Jim? Are the all stories true? About like how he wore leather pants he made from roadkill? Lol ya know? stuff like that lol I’m not trying to be rude just keeping the legend alive

Honestly I love the idea, and it would make sense. As I know it’s out there. Just needs to be found. I remember his excitement, his absolute assurance he found the one! And Jim never lied, ever! Not that I ever saw or heard. And he was surely there with the original roadkill as I’ve seen pics of him and Mike in front of trucks laden with plants, the word roadkill written on top in permanent marker ! I always wanted to do a proper hunt, like 100+ plants and thoroughly watch, document and have others verify everything along the way. He was the one that told me it’s in the UFS too, just has to be “fished out by someone better than me” were the exact words. Yes , I knew him through my mentor who has a few very well known friends in the industry, with the exception of Katsu and Jake from Romulan all of my connections in the industry are from Mike and his lifelong crew, it’s the reason I put together a crew and tried to do it their way, these guys were the best of friends and would lay down on a grenade for each other no question. That old school comaradery you know. Love that ish! I hope once I’m done the projects I have planned scheduled over the next 18 months or so I can obtain enough beans for a proper hunt @Kushking902 ive actually been meaning to ask if he still has an abundance. I only wish we would have made a final trip out that way as none of us were face to face in 5-6 years now sadly. Rest in Paradise and as far as the road kill pants Lmmfao ahh the things I’ve heard over the years . I can with absolutely certainty say he was a great human being, generous, kind yet TAKE ZERO SHIT kind of guy. Loved Cannabis and looooved making rare things available to those who would otherwise have zero access , he definitely left a legacy behind and many good friends who will certainly be continuing to further his finished stuff and bring to life the things he was working on and stoked about.

Oh! So check it out, I just came in from checking plants and the triple serration plant the one in the center smell is starting to evolve and I’m picking up a raw skunk terp and that’s just stem rub still and flowers are just starting to form so it’s still early yet but it’s looking very promising and @TopShelfTrees1 I think you’re right, I don’t believe Jim was no lier, either  just saying lol

Triple serrations huh? That’s killer. Definitely got my :crossed_fingers:t2: for you , I’d even kill for one that’s 1/2 the pungency/potency of what I remember. The only thing I’ve seen in years that even came close is @Strayfox Skunky Brewster! What I would give for the cut I smelled and tasted or even just a pack to hunt through. That cultivar is unreal and definitely has some roadkill attributes like absolutely danking like the strongest skunk in memory and then these crazy terps that just dance on your tongue. I have actually went so far as to place her on the ABSOLUTELY must obtain list of which there are only 5 strains left. Here’s hoping yours has TONS OF POTENTIAL BRO! :facepunch:t2:

There’s definitely enough to do a few large skunk hunts for sure.
I’m actually sitting on around 100 mixed beans from way back that came from an old gorilla grower. When I got them I was told the
last true skunk weed this person had smoked should be in these somewhere. trainwreck and the skunk he was growing and a couple of unnamed strains. that was the last time this person had anything that was true skunk and before that it had been many years since he had seen anything close to that smell/taste.
So I need to figure out a plan to start that search

Awesome news! Truly .OH Man I love this stuff, and I hope there’s some true absolute diggity dank in there! If you could, would you set aside like 50-60 for me bro, I have a puck as well with 10+ so that’ll give me a decent number I can still easily work with in my environment here atm. I’ve got tons of goodies to send in return . :pray:t2:

Nice looking purple stems. Hoping you find some skunky goodness!

@Kushking902 when you grew these out, did you find any “sweetness” to them? Thanks

No, there wasn’t much sweetness. All the plants had a bit of a different odour to them. Some heavier than others. There were old sock smells, musky, it seamed like they all had their own stink going on.
What was weird was I could smell straight skunk spray when I was around the window my filters are vented through, but I couldn’t pick it up inside the room.

So yesterday I was so excited about the purple stem male that I forgot what bright boy smelled like so I just checked him out again and I’m picking up a combination of baby poop, some mystery dankness and catfish bait  lol just thought I should write it down somewhere lol
