Getting Seeds in Virginia

There are a lot of safe places to get stuff now. It’s cheaper than buying a bag. What’s the saying go teach a man to fish he will eat forever.

If you haven’t found it, here’s where folk talk about some of the vendors and stuff:

Consider Soak’nbeans, as well. He usually gives out nice freebies along with an order.

Oh, and I see ChiTownSeeds had posted above, they’re getting great feedback as well.

It won’t be long before you’re swimming in beans and that you discover some of the ins/outs here on OG.

I probably spend around $800-$1200 a month…this is literally going to change my life growing it myself!

They rushed the bill through (not complaining) without taking things like this into consideration. They’re supposed to revisit it either in 2022 or 2023 and attempt to resolve some of these items. Another funny one is, you can legally grow 4 plants, but growing 5-10 is a $25 civil fine. Also, the smell of cannabis no longer constitutes probable cause so if growing indoors, something else would have to lead the police inside to even discover your grow. This state is odd for sure!

I had to do it. It sucks. Man does it. That first step. Then all you worry about is the smell. Good luck my friend

If I was in Virginia and I was a first time grower I’d go to dcse and pick up briscos bargain beans. Amos is from VA. He’s a chucker at best but hot damn that boys good with a shotgun.last time I picked them up they were at 40 a pack.

I clearly remember that feeling. Being so excited to get things set up and planted. I wish you the very best of luck with this new hobby. I hope it brings you pleasure without measure and results in some great bud that …here’s the best part…YOU GREW!

Once you get to know your way around, check out the free seed thread. There’s usually some fun going on with @DougDawson on Friday evenings.

You can have an ounce on your possession in public. Never said you can only have an ounce in home. Never saw a limit there. @StevenInRVA

Are you responding to something I’d said?

No. Sorry. It was for Steven. Hit the wrong one.

There actually is no disambiguating language in the bill about this. It speaks only to possession. Not to possession at home or public. When the General Assembly was arguing this point, the Democratic reps said to interpret it this way. The issue with this is without clear interpretation, a judge has too much leeway to screw someone. You also aren’t supposed to transport cannabis in a vehicle unless it’s in the original container from a retailer where you purchased it. Well, you can’t purchase cannabis in VA until 2024 so the General Assembly recommended transporting it in your trunk. I don’t trust VA police and I sure as hell don’t trust the troopers. Better to be smart and lay low until these items get smoothed out later✌🏻

I’m looking at a site called growerschoiceseeds. Any experience with them, good or bad?

There really is only one other mention of that vendor and it was by someone with a single post. I do not know them. And, they are selling generic seeds. You won’t know what you are really getting.

There are still a lot of shady vendors out there.

First time out, I’d stick with some of the suggestions made in this thread or review some of the feedback in the seebank subforum. A number of them have electronic funds capabilities … sometimes not obvious.

Look at what some folk are growing on OG and by what breeders, to get some ideas. Ask what banks they use, timeliness, and what payment methods are available.

I grew their white widow, just one plant so not much to go on, but that shit was dank. I agree there are many more well documented options around here. @MoBilly how’s yours looking.
