Hey Gramps. I am interested in how you got your netting system put up. I can think of a bunch of different ways. I got 3 big plants fairly close to one another. If you can give me some advice on how to fully net a plant I’d appreciate it

My plants are in rows 4 T Post per bag 6 footers with drilled pvc on top of each T Post . Nets are zip tied to the tops and dropped as needed . Latter in the season I wrap net around plants as needed if they get out of hand spreading .

I just trimmed the bottoms to remove bug ladders and to improve air flow . Makes it easy to apply diatomaceous earth I used a flour sifter two cups per plant . 3 months to go I think I’ll start sharpening the chainsaw . :sunglasses:

Fertilized today 4 tablespoons of Sea grow 16 -16 -16 and 4 tablespoons or so of shell flour per plant and a good watering . Lot of 90 degree days last few weeks . I mix the shell flour and fertilizer with water in a 5 gal bucket and dump into ponded water under the plants for a good mix . We will see what happens at the end of season . At least I will have a record of what I did on Here lol . A bowl of afgoo seemed to help with the mix . Some of the diatomaceous earth I applied the other day also gets watered in .

The Aphid war has started no such thing as a few aphids . I sprayed DoctorZymes OMRI last night and will spray again in a few days . This product works for mites / thrips / aphids / whiteflies / fungus / molds / mildew . No smell no taste lol and can be used right up to harvest . I used this last season to battle gifted plants loaded with mites and aphids worked great . I will update in a few days for some reason they like this plant the best the Bling .

I dig your trees. Gives me something to shoot for. I’m interested to see how that stuff works as well. Always good to have something that handy in your bag of tricks in case you get some of the creepy crawlies towards harvest time!

So things look a lot better on the aphid problem down to just a few on most plants . The same bling plant still has a large infestation . I think my solution was too weak doubled up to 4 oz per gal of water and sprayed again last night . Their moving a lot slower this morning . The Romulan was real light or next to none . Here’s a couple of pics of the Romulan these lady’s are short and fat . But a long grow ahead need to wrap with nets their 8 feet wide x 5 feet tall .

The rest of the garden is 7 to 9 foot tall and six plus wide and still headed skyward .

Ohh those fucking aphids ! Not sure you’ve seen what I was dealing with last year … I think I had every one of those sap suckers In a square mile at my place! … is the dr Zymes a Castile soap?

It’s a fermented citrus based organic product works good a little slow acting takes a couple of applications .But it kills the little bastards . I had major problems last season I was trying all of the soaps and nothing worked . Then I found the DoctorZymes .
