…t’wasa pain’n th’arse
Hit the girls with another round of the Agromagen GrowSafe at a higher concentration and I think it did the trick on that powdery mildew. I seriously drenched them and hoped for the best…so far so good.
Also, I’m thinking that mystery plant is another Amnesia Haze x Chocolate Rain, based on the plants development. Seem to be on the same schedule - everything else is way further ahead.
I guess it’s time for a little update… or a little reality check - I was in waaaayyy over my head on this one.
It’s extremely frustrating to admit - because these were truly beautiful plants when it came time to harvest - but with the number of plants and the size of them, I needed a lot of help that I just didn’t have.
So…while drying, I ran into a number of hiccups - mostly due to the humidity swings when the hurricane weather came through for ~4 days. My exhaust just couldn’t keep up - so a number of moldy tops had to get chopped and tossed.
Not a huge loss considering how much there was to begin with. But it was just the beginning of a frenzied approach to saving the rest of the crop. I spent about 8-10 hours a day going through every bit, trimming like a mad man, second guessing every bud. I still have great doubts about everything, so I’m just keeping at it…
(I do often consider scrapping the whole thing - I need a damn vacation)
Anyways, I just finished drying the plants that I chopped about two weeks ago, have most of the fan leaves removed for the bud trimmer, and what do ya know, it’s time for the second round of plants!!
Far fewer plants are getting chopped this time, so I can hopefully keep my dry room dialed in.
I’ll give an update this weekend with some photos payyyyce✌🏽
Wow. Lotsa challenges (learning experiences) on yer grow. I’m impressed you made it through them all. Just about everyone I know “back East” (I’m in Colorado) had serious/game-ending rot. Brutal stuff.
Thanks for sharing your journey!
Yea man, I honestly haven’t even had time to check with any of the other growers out here, but I figured we were all busting our asses salvaging things.
I know the final product won’t quite live up to my indoor, but so far it’s looking on par with what all my friends bring back from our local dispensaries.
A season of quantity over quality - not particularly satisfying looking back on what could have been
Hey @sllimnave
I saw a while back that you mentioned your enjoyment of the $30 packs of Dynasty at Sannie’s shop. I also really enjoyed those. (wink wink) Which cultivars did you like the best?
My #1 was the De*star bx followed by the Huckleberry Kush as #2 and #3 was Soliliqueen. A pheno of the fem. Sugar Punch was really nice too, though. But racy as all hell. Another growmie is growing some Sugar Punch currently. I am excited to see what he gets.
Did you ever check out the Open Grow forum back then? That was a mostly cozy place when I was there. A bunch of those people are here.
That was the 1st time, back then, I discovered E$kob@r Seeds (if that was how he spelled it lol) -…who, I think, has created some most excellent strains over the years. He has great taste imho.
Did you grow any @eskobar seeds?
I really enjoyed a few of his lines and a couple repros of them. Lime C99 F2’s I think were his and the F3’s made from them by Indican were delightful too if more classic pineapple. Chucky’s B., Holy P and Boudica. A few more older ones.
I won’t go on. Been smoking the Alien OG which makes me chatty. (rolls eyes) thanks for reading the above- it got long
Yo, I really like most Dynasty crosses I’ve had. I was getting them basically since I started growing, so a few didn’t see great results, but that was due to lack of experience on my part. They were always some of the best plants in the garden at whatever level of grower I was, though
I remember Huckleberry Space Queen stood out amongst some of my better of sannies plants, and Honey Badger Haze surprised me with volume, smell, and effect - if I remember correctly those were a “freebie” at one point, and I ended up with like 3 packs.
Right now I have a ton of Lava fields that I chopped, and it’s pretty similar to the Dess*star
As for eskos crosses, i only had a few of the offerings on the site (I didn’t realize what I was missing out on, until it was too late). Luckily people are reworking his lines to give new life to his creations
Hoping @santero does a chucks bride and the holy princess as those are the two I still hear about most, but missed back in the day
I too really enjoyed his Boudica tho, but I had a surprisingly hard time getting my friends on board with it - I remember the smells it produced were so foreign to our area that everyone passed on it for more familiar stuff I had at the time. It was like you could actually smell creamy/yogurt/something purple/blueberries - somehow I can imagine it perfectly from like 6-7 years ago still
Shame I ran out of those seeds
I was on opengrow back then, but rarely posted - just a few questions on strains I was growing out at that time. I was still pretty new to growing so I just read and read for days.
