Has anyone found 'Blueberry' from seed?

I remember that story but I can’t recall the exact details. I know it was a clone that someone put in a bouquet of flowers and they cut the leaves down like that. It was transported on a flight from Amsterdam to the UK as carry on. Definitely not a cut of DJ’s blueberry though. It was an elite cutting but I can’t remember exactly what it was right now.

To quote an article by DJ Short from the 2000´s regarding his involvement with dutch seed companies:

"The first company I worked with in Europe (=Sagarmatha) sprouted only 25 seeds of each of these varieties to make selections from. Other than supplying seed-stock, I was only minimally involved in the selection process. I did get to see the mother and father plants alive, however, the selection process had already been done prior by others. Unfortunately, my relationship with this company was short-lived as all the owner really wanted was my seed-stock. Once he had it I became a very low priority in his scheme. In all honesty I was never paid one red cent for any of the Blueberry (or “Flow” or Blue Velvet) that company number one in Europe produced (plus having over 3,000 seeds that I produced completely ripped off).

Needless to say this lack of concern prompted me to seek other possibilities that culminated in my relationship with the second company I worked with in Europe (=Dutch Passion). At this company about 50 seeds of each variety were sprouted, but I was once again mainly left out of the selection process except for sampling a number of finished products and making selections based on those (which is enough, actually). I never got to see any of the live plants from this selection process at company number two in Europe. I also contributed seed-stock for three more varieties there; Blue Moonshine, Blue Heaven and Purple Passion. The owner of this company was satisfied with paying me the minimum amount I would consider adequate. Fortunately, part of the deal was my ability to remain independent and work with whomever else I pleased."

That actually suprises me about Sagarmatha(Tony). Hes a very nice guy ive spoken with him several times, and he doesnt come off as that kind of person that would rip someone off. Im sure others would agree with me on that atleast. Well theres always 2 sides of the story.

What was dj expecting for 25 seeds of flo and blueberry i wonder? I guess maybe a few hundred bucks. Id like to hear Tonys side, im sure hes talked about it on icmag. Im growing dj bb right now before someone says i must not like dj short.

Honestly it sounds like dj wasnt upfront on what his involvement was going to be. Then after the fact hes upset, he prolly shouldnt have given seedbanks his geneics. Shit 100k in those days, how much was he expecting lol? Should of written up an agreement i guess. Fwiw dj short seeds were crazy expensive then like 200 for 10 regs. Both them had same seeds for 60 lol, thats why hes mad bc they were taking his potential customers.

I wish, the Blueberry from the 90’s left long ago. The recommendations mentioned are the best blueberry profile but completely different from the old school.

That’s not to say they aren’t great but that was one of the most unique varieties.

I smoke tested some un-cured bud from my harvest of this plant. Smells so strong of glazed blueberry donut sticks. The smoke tastes of blueberry and is a clear upper type high with almost no body.

4 Blue Stars #101
Full on blueberry pie dessert wine like the mother plant. I neglected the outdoor plot this year while working on a large indoor breeding project. I didnt get to prune or trellis them. A lot of them ended up leaning over significantly but still produced extremely well and were very mold and pm resistant. I plucked off a good 3000g for fresh frozen and still had another dry lb or so. But its all about the aroma, flavor, and effect. This one hits the mark on all 3.

Dj’s 98 F4 bearing some seeds! I’ll be testing the 98 f4 fem stock hopefully starting this month.

Right there with you; I’m super stoked about my BBM mom at the moment, but it’s just not what I remember having, it’s something new and different, but still blueberry.
