I won’t find out this time my old lady will shank me if I wash her favorite plant.
I’ve found with my ssdd bubble; i only had the 73 and 25 bags after filtering with a 220 and 120. This specific plant produces about 50/50 capitate and sessile trichomes. I am finding I get more pain relief and a smoother smoke, using the 25 bag stuff, than I do using the 73 bag. Obviously the 73 bubbles and smokes better than the 72-25 bag does. I’ve been mixing them together for the best effect but, thought it might be worth mentioning
25? brrrr shiver me timbers! monoterpenes and plant fibers. Unfortunately, the 25 micron only enrages me. ha hhah to each their own, of course!
Yeah I need to pick up the 8 bag set for the 90 and 45. I wonder if the 45 would carry all the extra pain relief im getting out of this 25 bag. The 73 has it but it’s like a third of the strength.
I’m real curious about the antherior sessile trichomes these days. Sessiles should wind up in the 73 bag, but bulbous trichomes would be in the 25. The antherior ones might be getting caught up with the capitates.
I’ll hit the books hard, someone on the surface of this planet knows the answers,
Oh my! I’m in trichome research heaven!!! Shit yah. Some crazy canadian study on trichomes complete with SEM images. I’m lapping it up!
Sounds interesting, have a link?
ok ok…
stalked capitate, small bulbous, bulbous on pedicels, non-glandular, non-bulbous, sessile-capitate, presecretpry sessile-capitate.
Ahhh! Shit’s not adding up still.
@ReikoX
Thanks, ill give it a read on my lunch.
OMG! I love that study. I want to marry it! Dayum! Who did that study?!?! picks his jaw off the floor How did it take so long to find this??!
The SSDD’s in my tent are coming down this weekend so I really appreciate this info @HolyAngel .
I just ordered a 8 bag set so I can get the 90u in play. will now be doing:
220 = plant screener
120 = temple
90 = temple
73 = temple
45 = temple
25 = for sand or pressing depending on QTY
@JoeCrowe i always appreciate your input!
(aka: is there anything above that I shouldn’t be doing? )
I’m always interested in seeing other people’s results! I really enjoy a good transformation where someone takes it from an old school tech to full melt bubble hash. I used to think it was impossible for a change like that.
Just make sure to keep the grades separate and test them all so you can decide which is the one you want. Or ones. Go from there. That’s what I did.
I’m about 1/2 way through and am throughly impressed. The SEM images are breathtaking.
It keeps going!!! Holy shit. It’s like… they fucking read my mind. and answered all my questions before I could ask them. hah hah! The SEM images, you are right… so incredible. My jaw hurts from slapping off the floor.
FYI — have been re- reading and looking at 'Frenchy’s" material and I always learn something new - Too bad that he passed away a few years ago. He was the Master in Hash. I’m sure folks have heard of him but for one’s who have not - reading Frenchy’s hash making material. Believe he lived in Amsterdam. Like to use the Dry ice method - because of the ease but if you were going to press it consider doing a bubble hash run - get good kief with dry ice , Trying to remember what Frenchy said about when to harvest - he states that a early harvest vs late harvest (difference in hash) have to find the answer in Frenchy’s video -
mmm hard pass on Frenchy. It sucked how things went down, and no offense to his methods but I’lll do my own thing.
Got me wrong - just giving another reference for knowledge. every one has their own way --Peace
your thread is great and I learned something - like it when you talked about selecting your hash bag Like you say “Modern hash making”
The thing about it is, I’ve watched his videos. So I decided to falsify some of the ideas presented. The classic one was soaking the weed in the ice water for a half an hour before doing the mix. That actually failed to have any effect on the end product. Then his other claim that if you grow the weed higher on a mountain it has more amber to the trichomes. It’s like he never heard of science. Except he kept saying the word science. That’s how his knowledge ended up on the trash heap.
