Hash Making Revisited

Yep trichome cap size can vary from 110 microns to 180, and the interior of the trichome cap is like 90 microns. I haven’t really done a clone comparison to see if the caps are the same indoors as out, but the cap sizes even on the same plant vary in size. The stalk also varies in size but in general a short stalked plant won’t suddenly grow a trichome stalk that’s 1000 microns when they were 100 microns tall. The color of the hash depends on the plant, but also the level of contamination. If there are many dark kernels of organics or pieces of dust, that changes it.
I used multiple bags before, but then I took and analyzed the hash from each sack and chose the one with the least plant material and the most trichome caps, which was 90 and stuck with that. I used the microscope, but also the biggest yield was in the 90 sack.

Ok, that’s interesting! When I ran Bubble Bags (brand), I always tossed the 190, and usually tossed the 160 because it wasn’t worth keeping. The 120 was “ok”, but the 73 was the sweet spot with most strains. The 45 was always good and sometimes great, but the 25 was more hit or miss, but almost always better than the 120.

tl;dr - I’m shocked that you get the crazy beautiful hash you make by collecting everything the 220 lets through, and don’t use a 73!

I never got anything decent from the 73 bags, personally. So I put the bag on the shelf, and just gather that stuff in the 25 sack. My old set of bags were just 220 and some other bag probably a 73 but I could still crank out wonderful melting hash! The thing that really takes it to the next level is the freeze drying technique. The plants I grow are selected for hash productivity, so that probably helps.

I had a green pheno pop up that I didn’t think much of at the time but it generated 4x the amount of finger hash as the other two.
Would that possibly indicate a potential candidate?

possibly! The only way to tell is to make hash and see  Although looking at the trichomes under the microscope will tell you, as well.

I’ve been using 220, 160,120 and the 73. I only keep what’s in the 73. I’ve never had a 90 or a 45. I stopped using the 25 a long time ago. I don’t think the 25 is worth the trouble. I would like to try a 90
My bags are Bubble bag brand and very old.

You can see the plant fibers in there. All on the bottom part of the hash, due to acceleration forcing the separation of more and less dense material. I wonder if you could centrifuge the hash and then scrape the contamination layer off the top. The more dense trichomes gather in the bottom of the bag.

Yah crazy world there are a few plant fibers in there!

wow nuts the unicorn is already asking for my entry because the deadline is june 24th for getting the thing into the competition. That came as a surprise hah hah also buddy said he can’t wait to see those golden nuggets in person because they are going to give everyone a run for their money. lol!

Ya 73 u was always my best too for most of my stuff

hah hah good thing I asked, they want it stabilized so it won’t melt down. I just need a few large containers! I’ll lay some parchment down in there and sprinkle on the hash in a fine layer. Then I’ll put the lid on and leave it for a week! Should be hardened chunks by then. Good thing I did all that research on stabilizing it lol or I’d be screwed.

About a year ago I bought a 90 micron bag on that Aliexp site I have yet to use it I’m going to use it here in the next couple days got a few ozs of trim in the freezer, can’t wait to try it out only paid 12 bucks for it Canadian :+1::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Did you also get the work bag?

I already have a bubbleman 4 bag set it came wth a 220, 120, 73 and 25. I just use a bucket for the working bag I do it all my drilling in a bucket and then I pour it out through the bags once it’s mixed

bE CAREFUL those golden nuggets will take an eye out they are so booooootiful. Stabilizing them in a large container with a sealed lid. Probably solid by tomorrow, I bet.

So you pulled the freeze dry hash out of freezer and put in contain with lid and left it out room temperature to stabilize it? Whats the difference between stablized and non stable? Cheers

It starts out more like silly putty, and ends up like creamy kernels.

Hash porn alert!!!

Hasn’t solidified yet, but it won’t stick to things anymore. It’s looking super duper! Get a little sparkle in your life!!

heh heh, thanks! The guy in charge of it just stopped by and told me I would be competing against bubbleman. So, hopefully I don’t offend the human race by failing to achieve perfection, lol!
