heh heh start with the freeze dried hash, and in time start pressing rosin, that’s what I did. I have a build up of rosin and freeze dried hash right now, oh the HORROR! I did all that squishing yesterday and someone comes in says woah what smells so potent?!

The secret is you have to coax out the rosin using woke monkeys playing flutes. lol! Ahem I mean 64C/180S and just a light kiss of pressure. Not enough pressure to make dark stuff leak out of the bag.
You can see the batches where I used too much pressure.

You best put a warning in the topic of this thread .
Homer drool may occur pictures graphic that could cause possible seizures. Thanks

Are you using a 90 micron bag or smaller I forgot to ask!
Edit: to clarify I mean when pressing not washing!

25 micron sack in the press!

FWIW, I like to double bag in a 25u then a 160u.

You get less blowouts that way or something?

oh crap I forgot! I got 1.5 grams return from the 5 I crushed. So the cost is like 67$ per gram. Anything above that number is pure profit margins! I’ll do a few more presses to make sure  I think I’ll start rolling them into yellow gram balls in parchment. That’ll be fun! I think I have to purchase some mason jars to store it in.

Yes, though yield drops slightly. Also, I like to do a second press with more pressure after for a food grade rosin.

yah I’m definitely going to try re-pressing them, except this time not getting it all over the machine. Depending on how that works, I was also just going to soak them in alcohol and make a killer batch of sugar cookies. I’ll try both processes in due time  I also want to try jar tech! oh man, so much fun left to have!

Yeah tried a small scale jar tech once. Overfilled the container and opened it warm. Oh God what a mess!

Alright! I got 917 grams of fresh buds, that includes tare weight, so it’ll be slightly less in the end. I ripped a bunch of rosin, and now I’m ready to crank this batch. I’ll be weighing and measuring this entire last run of big buds. They have been sitting in the freezer for a month, probably! mmm can’t wait!

tare weight at 48, so 869 grams in! It’s not exact… because there’s probably a few drops of water in the bag I couldn’t shake out. That’s why I’m so forgiving in the error zone, didn’t dry the bags out lol! I should do that next time.

ohhh I forgot! A hilarious sidebar… the village folk are gathering their pitchforks and torches. Muttering incoherently about coming after us on the hill at the unicorn cup lol! The village folk are hilarious with their moral judgements.

ok! Everything is done and queue a week of waiting! It was an excellent batch, no obvious plant material stuck in there.

Do you usually store your buds in the freezer this long before washing or is that just how long it took you to get to it? Is there an advantage to keeping the buds in there longer?

yah I had loaned out my gear so it took me a long time to get around to it. Just as long as it’s frozen solid it’s good to go.
