heh heh cutting it up does take some effort I need a robot like in I ROBOT to really go to town on it. If I need to, I can experiment with different methods like a sieve or the spice cutter, etc. The hash is getting closer to dryness!

Yikes! I have to get nuts and produce 14 grams of something for the contest. In 12 days! what the hell are we going to do with 14 grams of hash? Are cheech and chong coming?

woah, ok! So I got the entry form and you have to produce 10 grams of concentrates and/or 28 grams of buds. The rules actually say 14. so, if I’m getting a 30 percent yield from the freeze dried hash into rosin I would need. 43 grams of freeze dried hash, with 10 going into a jar and 33g being pressed into rosin then into a jar of 10g based on 30% return. fuck me! I guess that’s possible…but… yikes! Then, who’s going to rip 10 grams of rosin? That would last a long time! I think I’m going to need some clarification on these rules.

lol bubbleman is coming to smoke it all. I’m asking for clarification, because it does seem strange I would have to produce 800$ worth of materials just to enter the contest. Actually now I put it like that, it seems insane. Did he say that to scare away the triflers?

How much bud went into that bag and what was the weight of that ball? Everything looks great man.

about 869 grams of fresh frozen buds went into that ball. I can’t tell you what the thing weighs, because it’s probably not completely dried yet. Although I haven’t tested it today!

I verified the details of the contest. He wants to distribute .1 of a gram of each concentrate to 100 people? I can definitely do that with 10 grams of hash. I’m not sure about the rosin though. That’s soooo much rosin!!

uhh this is 4 days into the freezer, and it’s looking pretty good. I was able to crush a small piece with my finger. Also, there’s not very many dark areas indicating water still. As in, I can’t see any water.

Hilarious note, the villagers are gathering against something called the “feral rave” and they thought our event was it. Due to temporal coincidence. So, when they show up with the torches and pitchforks, it’s not gonna be at the contest.

Sorry I gotta back the canna-bus up here a bit. I think you answered my question with these photos but I was wondering do you mix in a bucket and pour it into the bags or do you do all of your mixing in the bags? Beautiful looking rosin BALLS!

Yep, I do the mixing in the bucket, with the bags! The hash making part can be done in multitudes of ways, including mixing it in the bucket and pouring it through the bags. I’ve seen it, same with using a machine. All those methods achieve the same results as far as I can tell. My method is like, teleported from 20 years ago before they even had the machines. Except back then I used a cake mixer, instead of this drill with a cake mixer on it. Lol custom power cake mixer.
Ooh yah, those rosin balls are the bomb! It’s like frozen honey!

heyyyy now we’re talkin’. A mere kiss was too light, so using my knowledge of how to program it now, I told it to get 2mm closer with the plates then crush it. I find what you do is start out really light pressure if that fails to crush it, then tell it to get closer, don’t be shy

So how much rosin do you end up collecting from a press like that?

I measured it at 30% yields using a light kiss of pressure. The more pressure I apply, the better the yield… but also the more waxy it is. I prefer it coming out like honey! 5 grams in is 1.5 grams out, so to make 10 grams of rosin takes 33 grams of freeze dried hash.
