HeadyBear's Den: Season II (Laissez les bons temps rouler!)

Okay, based on preflowers only (and I’m historically wrong), I’m saying that the final count in the veg tent is 7 females. When I flip to flower on Saturday, there will likely be 11 plants in there, because none of the Oaxaca have declared yet.
It’s gonna be tight, but I am here for it!
The male Vietbam Bomb is a beauty, and also withstood the intentional 3 days of 12/12 without showing sex. The other one flipped, and wouldn’t come back into veg…flowers got closer to opening than I was comfortable with. I’ll grab a whole bunch of cuts before I chop, just in case.

@Greasy @BeagleZ @syzygy
Since you’ve all been chatting about the SunRa today…

Let the games begin!

Oh, for everybody’s reference, these are tester f2s from @Greasy 's seed increase!

Sending all the good vibes for your germination and subsequent stellar grow

Awesome, hope you find something you like! That was definitely one of my favorite varieties from B that I’ve tried so far.

Well this is going to be my favorite Bodhi strain that I’ve grown… because it’s the first one I’ve grown!
I’ve had Bodhi gear from other cultivator homies, but this is my first opportunity to do it myself

Thanks for letting me know! I’m looking forward to seeing what you can do with these! If you want you can plop a few more seeds in the water and go after the most vigorous seedlings. I threw in a lot into the tester pack, so you’ve got some wiggle room with them if they don’t all germ. So far I think germ rates have been pretty good >85%.

Well let’s make it an even 10, then!

Dammit, 2 of em floated outta frame…

Beautiful! Thank you for growing these, I’m sure you’ll knock them out of the park

Alright, what a day!
The last 4 hours have been spent transitioning tents.
First things first, 2 of the SunRa from @Greasy were showing tails, so all 10 got planted in 3 inch seed start bags. They’re living in these makeshift humidity domes until they break ground.

I put the Oaxaca that was struggling, into a 3 gallon fabric pot, and upgraded 2 Blue Dream x Azure Haze, 1 Vietnam Bomb, and 1 Silver Haze x Sowahh to 5 gallon Grassroots Living Soil Pots. The remainder are unsexed still (3 plants) and it would be great if they were all males, because my 4x5 looks like this:

@upstate look at that stupid Oaxacan! I spread it open and it just kept growing horizontally; it’s like a damn tentacle plant!

Right hand row are Silver Haze x Sowahh, the row immediately to the left is Vietnam Bomb, continuing left is obviously Oaxaca, and the top left corner is the untopped BD X AH.

Everyone looks droopy because I went through and treated all plants with em5 at a rate of 1 oz. per gallon. Thrip damage was pretty ugly, so I’m trying to reduce the population since tonight is the first round of the permanent 12/12 cycle in the 4x5.
The em5 was also applied at the same rate as a soil drench for the watering of all plants today.
.5 gallon each for the 5 gallon pots, .2 gallon each for the 1 gallon pots (more for the airpots actually… they dry out pretty good and I’m trying to stay ahead of it).

The Blue Dream x Azure Haze do need some more time in veg, so I moved them to the 2x4 (the Oaxacan you just saw above are now in the 4x5) except for one that I didn’t top. That one also begins flowering tonight in the 4x5.
I also hung my new HLG 300 BSpec in the 2x4 and am running it at 30%.

@Pigeonman you’ll be pleased to hear that I’ve removed all non essential items from the tents, swept the tents, and cleaned all surfaces with em5.

We’re ready to start growing some buds!

A note for myself, and anyone who is curious:
I don’t like the ac infinity fabric bags very much in this usage, because even though they’re non woven, they don’t let water pass very freely. This is why I get an initial droop after watering, because the water pools in the bag for quite a while (30 minutes or more) before passing through to the surrounding medium. I won’t be using them going forward.

The latest ones I’ve bought were Instagrow branded…quite good quality cheap and water doesn’t pool

Thank you buddy, I love a good tip!

Sounds like potential for a Silversides pheno. Once they lay down, they stay down. It will fill everything in between those tips and more, if it is.

Now I start praying it’s a she. Significant upward growing shoots are already developing along the length of the horizontal branches, so… could be Silversides!

Just as a note for posterity, the Oaxacan plants each have a unique vibe or personality. Don’t know what else to call it.
The spread out (maybe Silversides) style plant is motivated, but laid back. Also the one least likely to give a fuck! Truly a vibe.
The one that bolted out the gate early continues to be the biggest plant with the thickest stems. I will be shocked if it’s female, which is why I call it Big Poppa. I can’t give it a fair shake (since I confined the roots to bondage for far longer than it liked), but so far it definitely gives off (appropriately) depressed vibes. Even at its best, it’s been kinda sad. I think the new shoes are gonna reveal more.
The other two definitely have their own individual thing going on, both a little stubborn, but one really liked being topped and now has a whole excited pep rally thing going on (also the one that put out the early 11 finger leaf), while the other one feels like we’re having a staring contest… that one moves sooooo slowly. Never sad, never happy, just deadpan delivery of regular growth.
We shall see what develops.

As long as one doesn’t become a complete narcissist you’ll be good!:rofl::rofl:

Just joshing ya I have noticed some plants do seem to have their own vibe definitely.

I think stretch Armstrong there fits that description. Easily taking up 2 plants worth of floor space.
