I still haven’t heard anything concrete about infected leaves touching healthy leaves causes infection? So many unknowns still. All i do for now is sanitize properly and test cuts. Also keeping pests away because they can spread it to the plant. Another one I’ve seen is curly beet top transmitted by leaf hoppers (which are out here in my area of the pnw).
So when in doubt toss them is my conclusion. Thank you everyone for sharing! I appreciate it
Just test a lot and if it’s special do a meristem culture.
You’re way ahead of most folks. Most people should be testing, know they should be testing, and do not test. It’s cheap to test so no excuses
Do you have any recommendations for places to test @SCJedi
I can do it or you can go directly to the place that I use, MyFloraDNA. https://myfloradna.com/
If you reach out tell them Synergy Genetics sent you
I was just reading about obsoul33t, and Alien Apparition seeds, and found their link on Instagram, on their front page is a lab report that seems to confirm, it is passed to seed.
What gave me some respect for obsoul33t, he was not blasting the breeder of the seed. Just reporting what they found.
Sorry I did not copy the screen shot.
Haven’t listened yet, but throwing it on now while I’m doing yard work.
Can be spread by aphids I think.I mean think about it they are masticating the phloem and xylem to get at the plant saps and transmitting it and walking in it and walking plant saps on thier feet right across plants to other plants.Perfect model for transmission if you ask me just a hypothesis pretty sure that’s how we got into this mess then people shared dirty cuts knew something was wierd but didn’t tell anyone think of how many cuts of west coast sour diesel went out to everyone with that shit and was one of the biggest known vectors we know of wide spread pathogen transmission of HLVD .It all boils down to dirty and unsanitary plant handling and not knowing the virus in its entirety.Have heard that Chitosan might be the key to the solution we all need.Nature uses it to pretty much vaccinate her plants why can’t we?Might be able to clean plants up with itMight be a game changer
Theoretically you could purge seed stock of pathogens can be used from seed to fruit.Start with clean material without paying thousands of dollars on marastem tissue culture
Yeah that’s the one. I linked it on SoundCloud, maybe the link only shows if you have SoundCloud downloaded?
If that’s the case let me know and I won’t post those ones in the future
Sound cloud is weird when linking. It’s happened to me too.
I tuned into Tassa talking on Matt Riot’s show yesterday and as soon as she called it a virus and used the term “sap” I turned it off. I was shocked to hear a PhD talk like that.
My opinion on aphids as a vector: without a doubt a potential vector. Really any insect that chews or sucks. Aphids, whiteflies, hoppers, thrips, etc
Great thread.
I listened to that podcast today and it was really informative.
She said it’s possible testing root hairs is alot more accurate than testing branches but they still have to do more research.
She also says heat/flame is not good to sterilize with. Should use 10-20% bleach for cleaning
She also said it won’t spread from plants touching unless there’s a open wound or there’s some kind of sap transfer from one plant into another plant.
Lots of good info
Had some dudded plants last round, just chopped the dudded ones over last few days, this shits no joke, turned some fire to garbage

Pretty sure what I thought was hlvd in my last run was actually fusarium. Shouldn’t be an issue again now that I’m going back to hydro.
@EugeneDebs420 That a tough one too. Hopefully you got it all under control
What symptoms did you have with fusarium?
I think tumi does testing for it as well
Stopped up taking water at normal rate droopy leaves, then one day I went in and half the main cola was just necrotic overnight like it was eating itself. That plant would’ve been a solid half pound at least too
