I just googled,”Are seeds created from hermaphroditic pollen feminized,” and this was the first thing that came up:
“ Interestingly, all the seeds collected from hermaphroditic flowers produced female plants , which is not the case for seeds that come from cross-fertilized plants. Commercial cultivators rely on cuttings from female mother plants as these are genetically identical to the mother plant and develop only female flowers.”

Since I’ve never been interested in feminized plants, it’s not really something I’ve read too much about, although I have read that plants grown from seeds that utilized herm pollen to make the cross have a tendency to herm when grown out. It’s one of the reasons I’m not interested in feminized seeds, S1’s etc. It’s the main reason, really.

that’s why i wanted to make a point, fem seeds have a bad rep, but most good shit out there specially “elite clones” are … fem seeds! s1s, s2s and so on, and herm accidents. and i feel like those kind of babies aren’t unnatural at all and those pollination happen in nature like crazy, what’s unnatural, is human breeding the plant, one plant onto one plant, that’ll never happen outside, or like a female plant not getting polinated that also wouldnt happen right
my point is, fem seeds are cool! i think there’s is more posibility for garbage in 'em, but also almost higher chance to find “diamonds” but anyways, all the seeds you find in your buds are going to be females, and also possibly, if your room is packed with fire, straight fire
thats how people make fem seeds they use reversal spray, spray the female until it’s a male in a room filled with the cclones they want to polinate, so you could make lets say… reversed chem91 x super skunk = all female seeds of that cross and i dont think id would be a lot of trash either

I found out that hermaphroditic seeds grow female copies (smell, vigor, stature all a dead ringer) everytime so far on a line Im working, now obviously this isnt a desired trait, but it is an interesting point to touch on with regards to female seeds and elite genetics, and even the famed stories of X genetics coming from a bag seed that hermed…
Going further down the worm hole I recently had a male about 30 days into flower start throwing some feral calyx formations, think string of beads, really gnarly landrace sativa type structure. I still have his pollen and the seeds created in those feral buds, something tells me those seeds will be male hermaphrodites everytime. Now how the hell I ended up with a feral landrace from an F2 hybrid is beyond me!
Working with unknown genetics is like a box of chocolate…

Yeah, if you’re cool with fem seeds, have at it. I’m not interested in them.
Someone brought up fem seeds in my current log a few days ago and I started thinking about why exactly it is that I’m so anti-them and I realized that, besides the whole “herm tendency” thing (which is a big reason for me), I also just like not knowing what I’m gonna get every grow. Like, I don’t gamble on sports or play poker (too much haha), but growing regular seeds is a gamble. It’s fun not knowing what’s gonna happen every run. Or it is to me, anyway. I like planting thirty seeds and wondering,”How many females am I gonna end up with this time…?” haha! “Could be seven; could be 25!” That’s fun to me. And growing, above all else, should be fun. That’s why I do it, anyway.
Yeah, this has been a fun series, for sure. I still don’t like our pitching, though. Seems like we’re banking on a lot of injured pitchers coming back and carrying us through the playoffs. Treinen, Buehler etc. There’s no guarantee that they’re gonna come back and look as good as they did before the injuries. And Gonsolin hasn’t looked great his last few starts, either. I wish we woulda traded for at least one reliable, proven reliever and a legit closer, too. I wasn’t interested in Soto at all, though, glad we didn’t trade for him.
Save that money for Ohtani next year! Haha.

It’s my understanding that feminized seeds made intentionally using STS are not more likely to have intersex traits present in the offspring provided that the mother is “stable”. The STS(?) is used in order to force a female to produce male flowers that otherwise wouldn’t. Obviously if the pollen donor is an unstable mother that seeded something else accidentally in the room (IE Sour Diesel) then that is a different story. I believe one of the magazines in the 90s promoted the practice of inducing stress on a cultivar to create feminized seeds, which should be obvious as to why that’s a problem… That said I personally have no interest in feminized seeds currently either, but I’m open to trying them if a documented breeding project were to show up of interest in the future for sure.

Yeah, I guess I should’ve said that I actually have read a lot about feminized seeds, reversing shit, colloidal silver etc etc, but it’s been a long time. Long enough to forget pretty much everything I read about it except,”I don’t wanna grow feminized seeds.” I’ve said this a million times already, but it’s just a personal thing: I’m not interested. More power to the people who are.

yeah i seen many theories about feminized seeds being bad has been … bebunked? but yeah like everything, if you do it right and make sure it’s just as good, it’ll be just as good, chimera was explaining it pretty clearely, how agriculture breeding is all inbred, and all very good
haha, nah man just shooting the shit, we know you’ll never grow 'em! i wasn’t trying to say that you should or ask why not or whatever, just saying the stuff in your regular seeds is sometimes from herm accidental feminized seed, so you’re doing it already! kinda, haha, i grew a few feminized seeds and for the most part they sucked, found a couple gems tho, kinda like with regs!

i posted a pre-cure smoke report for the fume’s on RIU i suppose i can copy and paste it here too even if i was gonna wait post-cure
here’s some pictures the pre-cure smoke report is pretty much this, best weed i’ve ever grown, my mind is BLOWN it’s so good, they are all very vigorous and uniform, high yield, the taste varies from drinking the perfectly sweet, top shelf rye old fashioned, by a campfire, in a pine tree and cedar forest after rain, and someone’s using a chainsaw down the way and you can smell the sweet 2stroke exhaust in the air, or home depot lumber yard fresh cut wood, with black licorice and caramel (but that flavor in the old fashioned already haha) it’s extremely flavorful, they all have those flavors in there but different concentration of each, the taste lingers for a easy 20 minutes, think of a super piney/gassy OG that’s just totally perfect, oh and the high is a heavy heavy warm blanket and a shot of heroin, very relaxing and good feeling, the most potent i’ve grown by far, i’ve never been so happy about a strain, skunk_va released his secret sauce!!

Yeah, he makes it tough to narrow down keepers. #'s 1 and 3 look like the 2 phenos I held… I stopped diffentuating between them they were so similar.
Oh, and I “told ya so”…

i didn’t weight anything but i grew 'em so weird and wrong haha, all i know is 4/5 of the girls filled a super tight packed 32oz mason jar, the biggest one wouldn’t fit in one, but if i grew those from seeds normally i think they woulda been beasts, they got bigger than any of the other strains i had in the room
haha hell yeah hopefully y’all love them as much as i do, but i’m pretty sure, cause i’m not crazy all the other fume’ smoke reports are also like this one

i got this male, i think imma collect pollen and pollinate a branch of each plant in my grow right now i got guerilla fume #4 and #3, forbidden fruit #3, and my old soul keeper growing, and i’m thinking if a see space in the screen that’s not getting filled i’ll add a plant of 2 in the room, probably guerilla fume 2 and 5, i regret not running the 5 right now, that’s the pine/cedar/wood one, big and ugly, so i’ll probably add it for sure that means it’ll get pollinated too
