Here’s the beautiful backyard I built myself foe my little one Still no power but we do have water at least. All my plants, including jalepenos have sadly died small price to pay for still having a roof. Rebuilding solo is going to take so long . And now of course the looting has begun.
Yeah… was in this lovely slice of heaven during Katrina, the aftermath of PEOPLE were the worst part. I have tried to leave but we can’t yet, no gas and everything is congested. Stuck here! Tried twice to get out to florida… horrible idea lol.
Thanks every one!
When the pandemic first started getting really bad I told Mrs Foreigner to never let her gas tank get lower than half full.
It would give us enough to get to our bug out location. And there’s room in the trunk for my micro solar array.
Best of luck with the cleanup.
I can see it in his eyes. That feller is going to be rich and famous, some day.
so you lost your outdoor garden? That sucks. And the trampoline took a hit. That is amazing the tree crew is already there though, wow around here it would take weeks after a big storm to get them.
I like the way they lay the plates down on the ground - I guess after a Cat. 4 the ground is so muddy the bobcat would sink in otherwise. Up here contractors are happy to trash your yard.
The sky is darkening quickly here as the remnants move in - expecting 3-4 inches of rain but no strong winds so we’re lucky this time
They are destroying my yard, it can’t be helped unfortunately but the did try to mitigate as much as possible. I am surprised they are here so fast from Lafayette also. My neighbor who owned the trees is the one who set it up.
Holy cow, neighbors already putting up a new fence! They ended up paying $17,000 for tree removal. Just nuts.
Wealthy or good insurance.
Paid out of pocket and laughed and asked me, “Know who’s paying for this?” “My father in law.”
Must be nice!
No kidding!! I was like dang, need to get me one of those.
Wow, so glad you guys didn’t get it any worse than you did. I’m glad to see that those oaks didn’t go the other way. They can do massive damage. They just can’t stand when the ground is so saturated.
Sorry you guys had to ride it out. It’s interesting for the first 15 minutes, and then its mental for the entire time after. I know it must break your heart to see your yard and neighborhood like it is now. Prayers and vibes sent for things getting back to some normal real soon. I can’t imagine having to stay there without AC. be safe!
Super tough, but people are on it!! I think every one in the neighborhood is a little vain, a lot helpful, and we will get it good again soon. Just wish we had power!!
Holy f**k! I have a massive maple and a good sized spruce that should come down, but I’m not ready for that kind of arse pillaging.
My neighbors said while they were standing they were quoted 2k per tree. Now they destroyed two neighbors, they were 12000 and $500 removal fee
Bastards! I would “save” money and take a month off work to cut it up by myself.
If I weren’t very small, and have lower back damage, I’d do the same!
