In the Market for a New Tent?

I sorry if there is confusion. I tried to link the pictures to the post, but didn’t. Anyway, the pictures show the amount of light leaks. Everywhere a needle was inserted, there is a light leak because the needle was too large. The circular glow is from a port that was shut tight. The flare is light shining through the fabric. And the picture with the tape represents the tear in the tent.

Return it. Ask for a refund on it, say the product you got is not exactly as the one they advertise. Send them the pictures too. If you paid with paypal, you have a consumer guarantee of 180 days, six months that is. Buyer’s protection.

Wanna sell 'em? If so how much? I’m a dumpster diver, it’s my sport… I can make them work!..

You could mix some caulk with black paint. This should stop the light leak.

I would be kicking off regarding that as its not fit for purpose.

May as well have leds dotted on the inside on permanent on.

Madscientist has the right idea refund and demand they pay cost of return shipping.

I would not be attempting to fix that at all, send it back.

It is possible to make good, but why when you have paid for a good item that has not been provided

And if they want to know why you need dark tell them your a photographer and it was for developing film in the dark :sunglasses:

The quality tents have extra flaps to cover the zipper stitching, with velcro to keep it secure over zippers and dark

Hello everyone.

I called Vivosun. They agreed to refund my money and allow me to keep the tent. But, here is the problem. I am disabled, and it took six weeks to set up the tents, lighting, ventilation, and etc. If I replaced them, I would have to take it all down and start over. If I keep the tents, I could make it work with a heck of A LOT of effort.

My main reason for making the post was to protect others – especially the disabled. Vivosun offered to send me two new tents. I asked them if the replacements were the same as the tents already received. They did not know, and were not willing to check. Therefore, those tents are going to be shipped to someone. I shared my experience to make sure it was not one of us.

There is a simple solution to your problem @Cannarose when the lights are off inside the tent, turn the lights off outside the tent in the room it is situated in. Use a blackout blind for the window or black out curtains. If your tent is a twin room use mylar/ any reflective grow room sheeting or duct tape on one of the sides to prevent light coming through.

Sorry to hear your situation, at least you spotted it before wondering why your plants were going hermie at week 5 of flower, better to know now than later.

Thanks for sharing your findings with us regarding this equipment. @madscientist @LemonadeJoe may be a link to the thread about equipment reviews needed here ?

My dad’s tent was the same way. His first grow the plants wouldn’t show flowers for two weeks because of the light leaks. He got some moving blankets and draped them over it. You can also try patching holes with aluminum tape, that shit will fix anything!

I still have a couple Sunlight XL 4x4’s (more like 4.5x4.5) from years and years ago that I’m not using currently, but they are extremely well-made, zero issues, easy to set up, enjoyed using them. Even managed to fit them back in their original boxes, with some bulging in the middle. Keeping them just in case, though I am tempted to sell them on Craigslist I’m also kinda scared to, as I am a paranoid fuckwit.

Very sad, return immediately and send a photo.

Bummer! I got a Gorilla Grow Tent and am very happy so far. Extremely well made. Heavy Duty fabric, stitching, and zippers. More expensive but worth the extra cost. My Dad always told me to buy the best and you won’t have to buy it twice. Hope this helps.

Hey @Dislexus! Hope your morning is bright and lifted. What would you take for one of your tents? Or both for that matter. I’m looking to add another tent in the “shed”. Lemme know bro. :cowboy_hat_face:

Black gaffers tape. with some panda to make some flaps. ghetto but it works sorry to hear of the poor quality if it makes you feel any better my 500 dollar 5x5 gorilla top of the line zipper ripped after 2months of daily use. I got mad and took over a room in the basement.
