It’s rather complicated. Original cross is all photos (sometimes called a fast version by seed companies). The F2 generation is when autos start popping up (roughly 25%). Cross two autos to make a full auto.
Here is a post that discusses the process in more detail…
Okay, one more time…
The autoflowering trait is a recessive trait, the photoperiod trait is dominant. We represent this as P for photoperiod and p for autoflower. When we cross two plants, they will each contribute one geen. In order for a plant to show the autoflowering trait, it must have both recessive genes pp, any other combination, PP, Pp, pP, will be a photoperiod. We can get a rough idea of the contribution using a punnett square. So in your example, when we cross an au…
The backcross is to make them more like Juanita (photo). And not part of making autos.
Here is what I’m planning for the project.
This is a little pollen chucking side project I want to run. Basically I want to make an automatic version of my Juanita la Lagrimosa clone. The progress will be documented here. Lets take a look at my goals.
Breeding Goals
Smell/flavor of Juanita la Lagrimosa
Feminized
Auto flowering
High-CBD (>8%)
The project plan is something like this:
The first cross will be a Juanita la Lagrimosa reversed with STS (high CBD, smell/flavor) clone crossed with Freedom Dream (auto-flowering, high CBD) se…
