Iām blushing a little @shagā¦ thatās high praise my friendā¦ I try to live up to it.
I am a self confessed seed whoreā¦ but I do pop a lot of seeds hehehe
It is true that I do enjoy giving when I can. My ācareerā as a breeder started with the sole purpose of breeding fire to donate to auctions in benefit of the families of fallen farmers at GLG and before that at Seedbay/icmag server fund drops where I did my first donation drop. Breeding is a compulsive disorder for me even though most people never really get to see or hear about the full scope of my projects.
I think of the people that went above and beyond to encourage me or gift me geneticsā¦ like yourself @shag, dawn patrol, @SmokinJoeMGF , Fabvariousk of Antenna Seedsā¦ and others like rykus/coastal and OGTG and more recently @crownpoodle , @TopShelfTrees1
and @JAWS ā¦ all have had a hand in helping me get up to speed for the 10 years I was not paying attention to the cannabis scene (06toā15). All have shown me what it takes to be respected and trusted and have done so by setting thier own examples. Honored to know all of them and am a better person for knowing them.
Iāll be honestā¦ 80% of my social life these days is spent online and mostly here these days. I donāt trust people as a general rule and throw barriers up some times that I shouldnāt. That almost prevented me from getting to know @shagā¦ he will remember our very first interactions. I am glad I brought those barriers down and got to know you bud. We WILL meet one day and it is going to be a fun time in a haze of blue smoke brother

Iāve stayed out of this thread as I donāt want to offend or choose sides as I have a TON of very good friends here and although I do see the odd grab n go or the guys who just grab everything etc. I stayed out of giveaways for the good part of a year but get sucked in by prime genetics every time! I do however give out a few beans here and there 
and am known to drop surprise packages off to my homies as well quite often. This place quite often turns around a bad day, has totally restored my faith in humanity and has made me more TRUE solid friendships than I can count. Iāve also seen this debate erupt several times in my tenure here and it always seems similar. So many truly selfless, kind, generous and downright amazing people here we are bound to let a bad apple through here and there but most are weeded out by US āthe peopleā in due time , some fly under the radar and thereās those of us that can just feel them and stay away. I love this place, I truly do and feel like I would not be where I am now without it and a few others and the friendships Iāve made some that I know will last an entire lifetime and that means so much to me ! I do feel you in a sense @LoveDaAutos and honestly feel almost everyoneās opinions on here. Those of you who have been here less than 6 months may not have seen the previous posts or seen the various scoundrels tossed from the site. I for one feel we have a standout in the crowd here , a place full of joy and happiness letās keep it that way. @SHSC-1 thank you brother 
from the bottom of my heart, and I must say the feeling is truly mutual. There are many on here Iāve made true friendships with including yourself and even have come to find comaradery in places I would have never looked before to become great friends, the people you have mentioned among others truly are stellar individuals and I love all you freaking seed junkies! And I know itās been said but if you need some fireā¦ā¦ hmu any of you!

Og is literally the only place I care to go for cannabis information, I feel kinda overwhelmed when I leave these hallowed halls. Thereās a sense of a true peace here. That being said, the best beans are always right here. Whether itās a commercial breeder trying to find more testers, or a regular joe chucking pollen in his basement, figuring out reversalsā¦og beans are legendary because of the people sharing them. Thatās a two way street. Todayās takers might be tomorrowās givers. If seeds werenāt scattered weād never know.
Iāve rarely been as stoked as the four or five times I meeped out a dibs or posted a picture of my Christmas tree for a glimpse into this spellbinding world, and I sincerely hope Iām not considered a part of any ātakerā crew. So im popping some og freebies with a glow in my heart tonight.

Disclaimer : never received a single seed from this site, nor have I ever asked for any.
To me itās always seemed like a double edged sword. Plenty of people enjoy growing out genetics, documenting them here, and pollen chucking. Sharing pollen chucks with those who are genuinely interested seems to be a great community building tool. A lot of us benefit from a sense of community in a hobby that many otherwise canāt be so open about.
Then there are the random giveaways as a cheap way to drive engagement in threads. They mostly end up building mindless cliques around users who engage in this ācharitableā behavior, dramatically reducing the quality of content here from multiple angles. Iām sure an addiction to community status, influence, or some form of self-promotion all play their own role. Kind of like the Youtube influencers who exploit the homeless.
Iād put the blame on the people teasing the giveaways more than those seeking seeds as has been done in the first post. This behavior is being cultivated and encouraged and hiding behind the idea of it being a selfless gesture is absurd. There are plenty of people who share genetics freely without reminding the world how philanthropic and humble they are. At the end of the day though who cares. Itās easy to unwatch threads and stick to threads that you enjoy.

@SHSC-1 after a long time just observing, the folks Iāve āmetā here are amazing. Once I allowed it to happen. Iām going thru the worst shit Iāve ever gone thru. No comparisons. Iāve gotten support from family. Not sure they get it, or me. But there are men here on OG that I reached out to so quickly. People who DO get me. I donāt want to deal with this either. My family doesnāt want much to do with it, canāt say I blame them. But you guys jumped in and have truely been lifesavers. To think all I expected was some answers about growing. Boy was I wrong.
You make me want to be a better person. Thanks OG.

pretty much spot on. and has been said many times. dont think things will change but ppl out them selfs quick with their intentions.
with that said if i remember tomorrow i will make a post with all the plants i have in flower from a few ogāers here close to harvest time!

The sender can decide who can get their beans, what is acceptable, and how their methods might affect the community or if they even care about that.
Usually I send freely, but sometimes there are conditions if I donāt feel like making a lot of packs, or if I want the seeds to go to someone who hasnāt got any for a while. I do check profiles for bad behaviour, so far that hasnāt stopped me from sending any out.
Once theyāre in the mail the receiver will do as they please, no point trying to control anything after that.
Raffles have pros and cons, itās easy to not participate if thatās not your cup of tea. I like to give away packs in my journal so whoever wants some of my shitty chucks can get some without a lucky dice roll. But dibs are fun too sometimes.
I love growing things from active OGers. Found some very interesting weeds and it helps to build community.
