I take cuts at whatever point. I try to take them from the bottom of the plant at least a few good nodes, best to take cuts before you flip to flower but I’ve taken them at any stage it really doesn’t matter I havnt noticed yet in my own grows. Sure is more of a hassle reversing them from flower as it takes longer but still works.
As for how many cuts you can take. It’s a weed it will recover take as many as you need and an extra 1 or 2 depending on your confidence in your cloning skills.
@Abbbian I take cuttings pretty much whenever I need them but from where depends on if I need to top for height restrictions or just general growth maintenance. Bottom is one of my usual spots to get cuttings from . @Chronickyle has good advice on it. Usually won’t take cuttings past 2nd or 3rd week of flower.
@Shaggy450r that’s my next plan is to try building out of pvc, just gotta have the spare $ to pick some up(have some I had gotten a while back for a project for our turtle tank but the pieces have been scattered and would be indire need of cleaning before I could consider using)
Shaggy man. I like your design. Good idea on the self tapping screws to tighten. Great idea on the wire material as well they should have a very long life. Also agree that 3*3 holes are best. Honestly man wanna trade haha just kidding of course but if I needed to build a screen and didnt have meterial laying around that would work. Yours is what I would build.
Edit. Except I’d put mine on ratchets to raise and lower. Only change.
So 3 it is… though I’ve been getting confident lately, hope I don’t blow it! Folks here have been instrumental in helping me with all that! @Chronickyle, I think I’m beginning to feel like you, too many things to be juggling with only two hands! lol! Thanks.
I like plain white mason line with 4" spacing and knots tied where the lines intersect. Usually train the plants for 1 cola per square. Manifold the plants so you can get one good solid top for sure instead of trying to fill the net with tops from small sicker branches.
I like to use screws so I can double wrap on the ends to keep tension.
Wooden dowels inside the pvc helps with rigidity and adds a little weight for stability.
Hi dear (hope you don’t mind) @nefrella, yep, and in hindsight, I assure you they’ve been stunted by a daring newbie’s too compact a soil. Lesson learned and, like others suggested, flip! Thank you!
I actually have a bunch of garden fencing I’m deciding to not use on my outside garden. Never thought to use it inside… sideways…
Genius. You’re a genius.
