Let's see those scrog screens

In my experience, yes. Especially if and when you cut the net as you harvest.

Never a problem with the polyester cutting my plants.

I string up a new net for every run.

I just use normal white string.

Haven’t had strings in my buds. I string it on tight. Works great, use it grow after grow.

Use the kiss method. Keep it stupid simple.

Anythibg is gonna work. Don’t use fishing line and don’t use something that just peels off loose hair and most likely it’s gonna be just fine. I didn’t shop around just walked to my garage seen some string and used it. Would use anything.

Thanks a lot.
So the verdict, polyester. Any decent thickness you might suggest? Love this site!

It’s not thick.
Very thin and slippery.

(My wife complains. Lol)

I use hemp twine for my screens. :+1::seedling:

Answered my question! So in the meantime, I make’em, don’t even break a sweat but there’s always some thinking required… Thank you everyone!

Hey @ReikoX, I guess sisal, as you can see in the picture above, is similar to hemp twine. I’m not really sure whether it would let fiber on buds but it is indeed full of tiny threads. Now the nature of polyester and or polypropylene, being kind of plastic, it feels closer to safer to me. Yet, as they say, “if I know it works, it’s pointless arguing otherwise.” Thanks.

I’m sure tiny hemp fibers come off the twine, but hey its all hemp right? I used to use pink nylon string, but the pink would rub off on my hands, and I assume my buds too. The white probably wouldn’t do that…

Hi, I’ve just got this and I’ll see what happens…
similar to hemp.

Here’s a simple screen for a single plant with the advantage that it moves with the plant. Simple construction, tomato cage cut to size so it sits 8 inches above the soil with coated garden wire 2"x3" above it. I use wire ties for training until the branches grow up to the screen. The screen is 4’x4’ and I’m shooting for about 60 bud sites. I credit a few good friends for the idea…

Hi everyone, have a question regarding when I should put the scrog. These plants are 8 to 9 weeks old. 5 (one seems to be a female) are regulars, and 2 of them exploded into long and thin branches, a bunch of them (suspect they could be males). In other words, I might have to kill one or two if they are males. There is a mother (I’m using it for clones) and an auto which is already with buds. If I take out these two plants, I’ll still be left with 2/3 of the space covered with branches and leaves. Should I install the scrog now or wait a few more weeks? Thanks.
Oops, forgot to post the pic! spaced out…!

I would of had the screen on ages ago. Get it on there asap so you can start training them.

Thanks @Chronickyle, it just dawned on me! but since they’ve been born I’ve been LSTing the heck out of them and they kept short. Now they are shooting up like crazy! Thanks, I’ll do!

Hi folks, dear OGiers (especially @Chronickyle, @Seamonkey84 @ReikoX @GramTorino, @Deadinside88, @corey, and @dequilo) have a hunch you’ll confirm but what the heck, I’ll ask anyway… before I put the trellis net, I must take the cuts from the potential females and or mothers (4 are regulars, one I already saw it is a female) for a perpetual growth. Am I correct in doing it now, before I’m unable to move pots around? If so, considering safety, how many cuts per plant? 3 or 4 expecting to keep 2 of each? Thanks.

I really like using pvc. I’ve used wood but pvc is light and easy to work with. Easy to break down if needed.

btw, I’m using pvc on the frame and the string is made of steel covered with plastic pvc. Hope I’m not about to make a mistake…

I use garden wire myself. Wire with the coating. Haven’t had any problems.

im getting ready to build my scrog for the 3x3 tent. I’m going with a pvc that will be suspended by the light hanger deallie boppers so i dont have to put legs on it.

Garden wire sounds like a good option, wouldnt cut into the plant. what spacing do you use for the wire? @Shaggy450r
