77f here in Baltimore. Mother’s day will be here before before I know it. Anyone else use mothers day as a outdoor start date? I started way to early last year. Was holding my tent hostage. Looking back I should have go ahead and started flowering anyway. They would have bounced back fine when I put them outside.
4 grows in. I only hook it up when the plants really start smelling. I got my 2 CLOUDLINE infinity fans. I just gotta set it up. I get frustrated to fast to easily as of late so she’s just been sitting here.
I got it hooked up. The fan I just bought is working fine. The one I got burnt on when hooked up is just draining power from the first fan. No action. If I can’t get it to work I’m going to be upset. Dose Amazon got a time limit on things going back? Now that I got a new one I can tell that it wouldn’t have worked even if I had the controller. It has no power cord. Smh
I did have 2 chances to return it to be fair. So this is no a devil Amazon post. Between working nights and the onset of Covid and not having a car was the issue. I’m sure if I explained to them the situation they might remedy the situation. Who knows. I just know for a fact that what I bought is not what I was supposed to receive. If they want to play.
After removing the bag of the pollinated branch it looks like the excess pollen might have clumped up over night. I would like to see more brown pistols tho. I guess wee will wait and see if I get my 50 seeds I’m shooting for.
Off to try my hand at some fishing this morning.
During the first grow of the final cross I didn’t know there was any purple in it due to LED lighting so I dont know at what point it turned. It was almost a 12 week flower. The underside of leaves and flower were purple. The second grow (just cut) was a nine week flower and at roughly six weeks there was purple on the underside of leaves then the flowers were deep purple a weekish later. That plant grew weird when flowering. I trimmed yesterday and didn’t get much bud material. The F1s are not stable, two seeds two completely different plants both had purple. Heres pics of each.
They look beautiful regardless. 12 weeks will be the longest I flowered anything. But looks like it’s worth the weight. If I get a good bit of seeds and I personally like the high I will do a little pheno hunt to try to help you stabilize certain traits. After the summer I should feel like I have enough green to actually work on projects that I have been wanting working on.
How long did it take you to get the Hopscotch? Did you cross the GG4 with GDP and then Romulan with the Sour Diesel. Then take those two F1s to make the Hopscotch? Were you not intentionally trying to go for the color purple? I do have to say that to Isolate the purple pheno out of 4 strains and it constantly pop up in every plant seems like we got lucky there. I feel like it would be hit or miss. You would have no choice to pollinat everything and grow it completely out to be sure that you got the color purple. If you were just looking at structure I would imagine that would be a little bit easier.
The only strains I have had out of the gene pool is the GG#4 and Sour Diesel. The GDP and Romulan are on my to grow list. For sure. I would like to find a true GDP that is close from Ken or one of his people if possible.
Now according the interwebs the Romulan is out of British Columbia and was being saved from extinction. Romulan was crossed with Big Bud and something else, then finally crossed White Rhino bringing it to a 25% sativa. Origin of Romulan is a little hazy for sure. But as someone that has grown Big Bud years ago I can kinda see that in there. For not vegging a whole 30 days she filled my tent pretty quick. I haven’t grown the other 3 but she is a big one that’s for sure. Your not going to be doing a SOG with this gal that’s for sure. If I knew it was going to be as warm as it is I would have taken a clone from her. I would like to see how big I can get her outside in 7 gallon soil mix.
With the Sour Diesel being as high as it is the Sativa department there’s no surprise that the Hopscotch can take up to 12 to finish.
If anyone would like to share history of GG#4, GDP, Romulan and Sour Diesel please feel free. I love the history of strains. I feel like we should give credit where credit is due. Especially the folks that has been working this plaint and has paved the way for some of us novelty growers.

I crossed gg4 with GDP then grew it had a male Romulan or Urkulan, I can’t remember exactly what it was I mixed two up, pollinated with it then grew that twice. It wasn’t purple the second time I grew that one of two Sour Diesel went male and I pollinated the cross then the purple showed up. It was really frosty before the sour cross. TBH I was just building not really thinking about trying to get different traits, I was trying to build something different. That first Hopscotch plant was the buds were odd they had a strange consistency. My buddies still ask for it. I got almost a qp from a 30 day veg in a 4 gal pot. Which I pollinated with its brother. I’m not sure which seeds you got. I’ve had two completely different plants from 1s. The meat of second flowers are so purple they’re almost black. I hope uts not the LEDs doing it and it’s a genetic trait. I’m sure the Diesel stretched the flower time. Expect lots of tricombs.
Looks like the first application worked just fine. Just incase anyone forgot. Apparently (from some people’s reactions) I applied the pollen in a funky way. I removed the plant from the tent first and foremost. Then I used a Q Tip rolled it in pollen, then rolled that on the pistols of a selected branch. Afterwards I sprayed that branch with PH water to hold the pollen in place to keep it from getting blown around after placing her back in the tent with my other two celibate ladies. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few seeds popped up here or there.
Nope. None of the purple yet. I’m working on my environment a little bit. Hooked up my CLOUDLINE but found out the second fan that I had received a year ago that didn’t come with the controller don’t work. I got that hooked up and have my old fan now as my intake. I will disassemble my airpump to see if it needs cleaning. It looks like is not pumping air like it was when I first got it. Now I got a new air pump but it’s a tad louder then I would like so I’m going to run it in my closet and run the air tube to my tent. Do you guys think I should run a single tube and connect the splitter. Or should I run my 4 quarter inch tube from my closet to my tent.
I cleaned it out and flipped it over. I was thinking of drilling another hole in that disk so it has more space for air intake. Dose that sound wise?!

Either way it sound like it will be some great smoke regardless just because of the parents. What kind of strange consistency are we talking? Could you describe it for us?
If this one is not purple I have the other pack you just sent me. I think we will get some color tho really dark colors like you said. I can see this weird dark shade of green that I’ve never seen on any of my plants in the past. We still got about 2 more months left. Time will tell.
lol I just picked that crud out of my pump of the same name. All the pumps with the foam filters in them get gunked up like that you have to check em once in a while.
I was not even aware JoeCrowe. I mean obviously the air has to come from somewhere. Just didn’t know that there could be a filter need cleaning. Oops.
Dose anyone grow sweet corn? I would like to try my hand at some corn this year. I’m also going to do Brussels Sprouts, Beats, Carrots, Watermelon maybe some kind of greens. Is there a better place to buy seed besides Walmart or Home Depot. I would like to give my money to someone other then those guys.
