LilJonB's Hopscotch Grow

Do you let your water sit before you put it in your bucket. Sometimes it will swing on its own.
I really recommend you doing a dose of H202 to kill whatever is growing on you roots.

Anyone got a recommendation for how much H202 for 2.5 gallons?

We also want to see what @JoeCrowe suggest before we move forward but it’s ultimately up to you of course Hoppy.

Is your airline sold white? I don’t know if light could be getting into your bucket from your air line.

I will be asking a million questions  I hope you don’t mind! Could it be possible the ph shift killed the roots or were they already dead by then?

I just switched out to a clear air line, I’ve a hole drilled in the side about the water line. It a smug fit. I had a root discoloration the whole time @JoeCrowe. I used a micro enzyme crap a hydro guy recommended from Bigfoot supplements or something. It instantly made water foam and look like sewage. I rinsed it all off and dumped it. That was a month ago or less.

I’ve got two bottles of h2o2 sitting on my bench. 50/50 is usually what I use in dirt. I’ll do it today @LilJonB

I’m like…dying inside to get a sample off your roots for my lab. I would love to see what is happening there. Lemme think some more and hatch new ideas.

See what @JoeCrowe says first but I swear it’s from the Micro. I won’t use stuff like it ever again. I don’t trust people at those shops.

Should he hold off on the H202?

the peroxide is harmless at low concentrations to the plant. I’m not entirely sure the peroxide would actually make a difference… unless I could see it under the microscope while I added some to the roots  I have seen small creatures that can live in hydro you CAN kill with bleach and peroxide, but no guarantees it’ll actually finish off the problem. Won’t hurt though.
For problem solving, start out by giving the plant a nutrient dose with no extras, just the basics and see how it reacts. Then start adding other things one by one until things go south. Then you should know what caused the problem.

I hope this helps @Hoppy.
So Cal-Mag and flower Maxi. Or just the Maxi @JoeCrowe? He’s using distilled water.

Thanks for taking the time @JoeCrowe .:+1:

I would start with what you know worked, then see if that’s still working. Then start changing things one at a time and monitor the effects.
edit: I’m cleaning up my grow room so I keep checking back every once in a while

I put 50/50 tap water and distilled water yesterday. I’ve got pieces of roots in the trash. I pulled off 60% of what was there, well they pretty much fell off. I put a little Maxi in with it the ppm is 460 ish and the ph was 6.8 yesterday. I’ll go up there in a bit and check levels later. Didn’t want to over do the nutes after the root mess, there were a few newer roots coming from the side of basket that were white.

That sounds good. I’m very relieved that you are in fact seeing new growth. I agree with the light nutes at this point. You might have to baby’s her for a little bit. I am confident she will recover if you keep at it. As those old roots go and new ones come in she will recover faster.

I wouldnt strip em all. As they start cannabalizing themselves shoukd be able to pop em off real easy.

i mean, watering until at least 20% of the water i’m putting in, is coming out of the bottom of the pot.

I definately second this advice. It took me forever to stop making multiple changes at once but i realized that i cant tell what helped or what hurt unless i make the changes one a at a time.

@rooted it didn’t take much for those roots to come off. I’m going to check on her now.

My bad been birthday partying all day. But got to say she sure is a beastly plant. Those colas are locked from the ground up.

This is what I read to arrive at the dosage I used…

“The recommended amount of 3% solution of peroxide per gallon of water in hydroponics is around 3ml per liter or 2-3 teaspoons per gallon of reservoir water.”

Hope it helps!
