Federal legalization in the USA, what does the future hold for cannabis?

So this topic was started in another thread and I try not to get off topic, but it seems to happen… So I thought we could discuss things here instead. What does the future hold for cannabis? What are your thoughts on Federal Legalization? Do you feel it will be good for the home grower? What are the chances Bayer/Monsanto, Syngenta ect. will be involved. Do you think current legalization is working well? Are people still going to jail for cannabis in legal states? We can discuss…

Theoretically they could, but in reality they can’t. Given the nature of global marijuana there are millions of people that have a potential claim to the genetics of a plant and a savvy lawyer could argue as such against any patent. The reality is a big Corp can’t just walk onto the scene now that weed is legal and begin using their $$$ to patent and control MJ or a strain.
