What a handsome cactus.

@m0sirys do you use the whole cactus. I’ve noticed if you peel the San Pedro and make your tea from the skin it really cuts the nausea. Any thoughts or have you tried this?

@420noob i tried both :slight_smile: but for me the difference is not that big ! :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:
but i belong to the people who have an easy to upset stomach from this compound and nausea will come and get me even when it is extraced.

but alot of people do it that way! remove the core and use the skin :slight_smile: for most people that willcut the nausea!

when i remember right the most alkaloid content is right under the skin.
or iḿ just mixing this up with vitiamins from potatos. :rofl: :

i might should start to grow some cati again ! :smiley: :smiley:

Good luck from seed.

For real.

These are coming up on 1 year.

Hardened off of humidity about 4 months ago.

.

Finding viable seed is key to the whole thing

they will explode in no time :=)

It really is amazing how fast they grow when grafted. I think, if I remember right, from sprout to flowers was 3 years or so if grafted. Something like that anyway.
Good way to ensure a future seed supply in a hurry.

I had a few grafts ;
But I find the taproot more hardy in desert sun outside.

If you look after it properly, one year should be enough to bring it into flowering :slight_smile:

thats is true ! always depends on what you want to achive :slight_smile:

I have five big toes for fingers… I have to wait until they get a little bigger to graft or I screw it up.

I don’t graft anymore
Although
it is the most stressful fun on the planet!

I love to chop n pop em (cut and harden ; then plant as it’s own plant)

everyone has their own technique and philosophy. as long as it works, there is no right and wrong :slight_smile:

you can also manage a graft without stress :slight_smile: just need some practice

and watch out for fungus gnats. My first try I lost 8 of 10 to those little bastards. They were getting inside the seedling and hollowing it out. I kept coming home to dead babies and I finally cut one open, it was just a shell… only the skin of the cactus was left. Inside was a fungus gnat larvae. Not good.

Happened to me like the first 4 times ;
This is my first successful round to get to harden off;
That’s why the initial wish of Good luck :laughing:
Also;
Grafting decreases amt of already low alkaloid content;
So if alk content is what someone is after;
I would advise agiainst grafts…
To get Seeds sooner however, or to see phenotypical progression ;
Then DEFINITELY graft…

might be true if you after that ! but there are better plants to get mesc. than a peyote. :wink:

Good ol’ Sam Pedro

It as someone who knows…

They aren’t the same “spirit”
….
Like the “doorway” is different…
Entirely different experiences with full content of alkaloids
