Making quality seeds

Wow. That would be insane. I wish!

1 gallon plants fully seeded usually give me a few thousand seeds.

I wouldn’t those look great! I have definitely read up on @Tonygreen’s breeding and how he does things and I like to bother @jaws and pick his brain too. 2 great breeders imo. These first runs have been all pollen people have been kind enough to share with me. My next flower tent will be a Mango hashplant open pollination and cross run. Going to pack a 5x5 with everything from 1 gal - 7 gal pots.

He’s a solid dude and an open book when it comes to discussing breeding and methods. He’s super busy but very knowledgeable and helpful.

Nice responses.
I get it about the letting them sit in the buds for as long as possible, but in the picture I posted some of those seeds are done (sure, could go longer but…) and the white one’s are such that I doubt they will ever mature fully into viable seeds.

btw - @Foreigner told me his seed making secret and it’s a good one, but I swore I wouldn’t say what it was

But to answer some of the questions. I let the male sit in the room for a cuople days (but I’ve also brushed on pollen and sometimes I get great returns and sometimes not so much).

Hey @Zanzibar . I’ve done many pollinations, many different ways and there’s always exceptions but with 10 weekers, on average I find early pollination (21 days or so) make bigger, more mature seed in less numbers but less whites and aports. Pollination after 28-35 days means way more mature seed that are marginally smaller and way more whites and aborts, no matter how long you flower post pollination. Consensus is that seed take 4-6 weeks to mature. I feed a transition 50/50 blend, like you do throughout stretch , straight to the finish.

This is great info.

Yes, staggering creates issues later on.

Good stuff @Budderton

Does anyone know about the spraying the plants with tap water trick?
It’s good if you want to isolate pollination one branch or one plant.

I pull my plants out of the tent and bring them upstairs. I pollinated them, left them over night and then in the morning stuck them in the shower to rinse them off.
