Memories of life

One time when I was 8 or so, I rode my bike to the local store. All I had was change and no pockets. I put all the change in my mouth…spit it into my hand when I got there and paid for my chocolate bars. Friggin deadly.

I remember Hershey bars being a nickel. I’ll bet there are at least one or two others here who do too.

My grandpa. Just saw him today almost lost him this year to a heart attack. He just had his heart monitor removed. Hope he kicks around for more decades. That side of the family tends to live very very long

This is my father and I the first time I came to the US. Kinda made my eyes burn and warm seeing this. I haven’t seen him in almost a decade…I miss having a Dad.

I hope I don’t get clowned for showing this private side of my life but :man_shrugging:t2:

No buts. That’s a beautiful thing.

My dad has been dead for nearly 30 years, and yet I think about him more days than not.

He will always be your father, and I suspect you will always love him.

I miss having a dad too.

My dad died Sept.12th 1970. Tomorrow will be 53 years since he died. I was 13 years old.
Life is short tell your loved ones every day you love them………

I have that exact same hat your dad is wearing in the first pic. An authentic Indiana Jones fedora. I wanted to buy one back then, 35 years or so ago, but found mine in new condition at a Value Village in Langley, BC for $3! Been my fishing hat ever since and is no longer in new condition but still looks good and I have a suede brush to keep it neat.

Your dad’s a classy dude.

:peace:

Not here my friend.
I lost my father sixteen years ago, quite unexpectedly. I also miss him every day.
I’m with @Oldjoints on this one. Life’s to short. Make sure to tell your loved ones how much you love them every day, and make amends where needed…

This is a picture of me, my dad and daughter, and my second wife. My daughter’s stepmom. What I love most about this picture is my daughter’s smile and face. She is 28 now. I sure loved that age. I miss that.

I hear that …… 100% I often sit and reminisce about the days they just wanted to hug ya, and never leave your side.

Agreed, she’s got an easy smile, like everything is just easily perfect. I gotta say though, your pop has a pretty satisfied smile on his face too. A hand on his baby, and a hand on his grandbaby. I’d be pretty freakin’ happy too.

Nice picture!
