The medical dispensary here gets more than $4k a pound. They sell $60+ eighths all day. That’s almost $8k/p.
I was never interested in getting rich off of this, as Dog would suggest. I had a slave job that pays a lot more than I ever made growing. But I hated it. I was able to make a living doing what I love, until recently. And you should see the horseshit product that mine is being phased out by. It would almost appear that shwag is making a comeback. I guess the economy is so bad that the market is shifting towards the $75 oz.

You say you don’t make a lot of money off weed, have a ‘slave’ job that pays better but can barely afford to keep the lights on because prices are tanking.

I’ve been growing my own since 1989, always for personal use. I’m pretty stoked my grow will be legit now. I can take a deep dive into breeding my heirloom lines. I have a friend who has made a middle class income for the last 20 years by selling on the black market, he is significantly less stoked because this version of legalization will probably put him out of business.
I think this is the yin and yang of legalization. It is a positive change for the hobbyist but a threat to those who were making a living out of it.

Bro, I was an original member of the real overgrow.com forum that got busted by the dea and had it’s servers stolen back when overgrow was the only grow forum online and the internet was barely a thing. Everyone on that forum was an outlaw back then. We were all growing illegally. You bought seeds from scammers like Marc Emery for $20/seed, or you traded genetics for free on those forums. After the dea raided the servers, I didn’t look up anything regarding weed for like 3 years because I was so afraid of them tracking my IP address or whatever it is they do.
So you can stop asking if I just joined OG. I was an original member. You are the newbie. By like 20+ years. But then again, this forum is nothing like the old one.
In all honesty, back then anyone who talked like you would be considered a snitch or a troll and get an immediate ban.

And your post regarding me charging cancer patients for anything is insulting. I have provided oil and bud to more cancer, diabetes, RA, chronic pain, etc patients than I can count. From family members to people I have never even met. Without charge. I don’t know where you get this New Jack City crack empire bullshit that you accuse people of. I know of very few people who were ever involved in this for the money. There was always a major risk factor involved in any large op back then, so anything that was making big $$$ couldn’t stay in operation for long. Very few people got rich from growing. I don’t personally know anyone who did

I just watched our state government spent 2-1/2 years doing everything in it’s power to bankrupt and shut down small business, while Walmart remained open. Now they say that they are going to put protections in place so that mega corporations don’t take over the weed biz. OK…
I don’t trust them. And anyone who does hasn’t been paying attention.

I can be civil if you can. I don’t doubt your cannabis credentials man. You’re right, I wasn’t on OG 20 years ago. I, like you and many others, didn’t want to end up in prison. That’s why most of us are happy with this bill. That fear is gone now. Now I know some people enjoy being an ‘outlaw’ but most people here just want to grow some good cannabis without fear of the DEA knocking at the front door. Hell they will expunge criminal records related to marijuana convictions.
But just because I support this bill doesn’t mean I’m a brainwashed slave who blindly believes the govt is all good.

You also seem to forget that you’re on OG so most people here will be growing their own at home when it’s legal, not hitting up the dispensaries. So what taxes will they be paying?
You could have rejoined OG as a valued source of insight and knowledge from years of experience instead you start spewing garbage about pedophilic politicians, calling people slaves, fake pandemics, pussified society, etc. Whatever the hell you’ve been growing you can keep if that’s what it does to your brain.

And the only reason I was able to benefit from anything is because I was willing to take risks that you aren’t. You were buying weed from people like me because you were afraid to grow your own. And for your lack of balls, you pay the fee.
And for the record, my family and I have been going to the Black Hills in South Dakota for the 4th of July for many years. The people there hold freedom in high regard. But they view weed as a gateway to liberalism, and they don’t want the communist element in their state. They didn’t force people to wear face diapers and they didn’t shut down their stores. I remember at the height of that fake pandemic most of the stores in SD had signs that said “Don’t come in here wearing a mask unless you’re going to try to rob us. In which case you’ll be shot”. They’re a different breed out there, but rich or poor, native American or Caucasian, they all seem to be in agreement. So let them run their shit as they want to.
