Mushrooms - DIY, spores, etc 🍄 (Part 1)

Haha that was my suggestion :yum:.

Umm if you can’t leave em in the jars to pin then I’d say hit em with a cold soak overnight. Then just air exchange and mist / fan until evaporated twice a day. I mist mine then sit them in front of my oscillating fan for five minutes. I’m not hand fanning these things. As close to 100% humidity as you can get when not exchanging air.

I generally must/fan them 3-4 x’s daily. I have a small 6 inch fan at the door way pulling air out of the room. I am maintaining 99% humidity at 70 degrees. The cake in the tub is fully consolidated and I dunked it last week for 24 hours. I am at a loss a time the moment.:frowning:

I’m fruiting mine in my flowering tent. 80-82 day temps, 60 night. 1212 light schedule. You sound like your on top of it maybe just a fluke thing and your next set will pin properly for you. Was it just the one cake that wont pin or was it multiple?

Just the one, the others wound up contaminated. I tend to agree with you that this is a fluke and it does happen. Chalk it up to learning.

I’m working with a super vigorous bplus right now that was been way too good to me considering my sterilization procedures and general carelessness. I’m gonna be making some syringes for myself just to keep em around. Let me know if you don’t see some pins this time

I have a homemade flowhood but I have read that SAB can work better for agar work.

Well success, just when I was going to turn everything off, lo and behold little mushrooms. There is hope after all. So what steps do I need to take to ensure these get all they need to grow healthy?

Success!
Just keep misting and fanning! They should really start to really take off now.

I have a question. I am going to start growing Portabellos/Crimini and am going to be using manure and coir. I am going to pasteurize them in a water bath in jars. Can I, after they cool, put lids and rings on any extras so I can just dump them in the bin on the next go around, or will I have to re-pasteurize?

@MidwestMover thanks again for inspiring me to get back into this hobby! :v::mushroom:

You should be pasteurizing with lids on to maintain sterility. They have a shelf life of about 2 weeks. Freeze them for about 3 months.

Inspiring me to finish getting setup with PF tek.

I got my pressure cooker finally, I just need to figure out a heated box setup to let them grow in…

It’s so uniform, it’s amazing.

My tubs are from MSS, I have had some really good pin sets. I had a tub that I knew would be ready after 2 days away camping. That tub filled a quart jar and 1/2 another.

I’m done growing them after a few tubs finish, and I’m soaking a few tubs for second flush.
We ate a 5g dose Saturday in a national forest. Great time. One of my best trips.
I thought I was talking telepathically to a friend across the country. I got a lot of healing out of this trip and clarity.

Running three grow tents, 60 jars, 5-10 tubs, I tossed 4 smelly tubs after 4 day S2B. And I tried making DMT for a week. TOO MUCH work. So I’m only going to finish 5 female plants. My large 4x8 is fully pollinated for seed. And they will be coming down in a week or two. Seeds are mature on them now.

I want to play more guitar and paint, about time to start vegetable garden and enjoy the summer.
