Not bad ffor 2nd batch ever! I just put ice and water into the bags and mixing for about 5 mins. I have to have pulled over a gram from about a cup of ok trim!

So I put it on my screen, folded it over and pressed it using a paper towel on one side and cardboard on the other. It peeled right off easy peasy.
My 73 micron caught the most and nicest material.
I think I’m ready to try the good trim now

Qwet is fast and easy, makes tasty dabs. This is pretty easy, takes a few hours or longer depending on variables to dry. Im smoking this crumbled onto bowls, so different method of ingestion. I am curious about squishing this material for rosin…
how does a tiny bit feel between your fingers? hard, sandy or smooth like fine grind flour?
In between sandy and smooth. Like sandy at first then smooth. Its only a 4 bag set 220, 190, 73 and 25.
And it melts and bubbles beautifully
sounds primo! What you definitely don’t want is it to be a hard chunk like rock, or stay as sand grains when you rub it between your fingers. Shows there’s too much contamination.

Oh, question. Will different strains give you different ratios in the bags? Like are some trich heads bigger than other by strain?

oo Good question! They don’t vary much in size as far as I have seen. did you mean 90 instead of 190?
anyways the trichomes seem to all be under 150μm as far as the caps are concerned. My disclaimer is I’ve only studied like 10 different kinds of weed so far heh heh.
Let me double check. The tester crumbled on my 420 bowl got my nicely buzzed
oh I forgot, the trichome caps grow slowly until they reach a max size but not all trichomes reach the same size at the same time, right?
My 8 bag set is 220, 190,160,120,90,73,45,25 I rarely use more than 4 bags.
Which 4 do you usually use?

@JoeCrowe do you think the freezer drying technique would work to dry out pollen? Or would it damage pollen to freeze it before it’s dry enough? I was thinking just sifting it through my kief box and putting the tray in the freezer on an open shelf
I think you’re supposed to put a desiccant in there to keep any moisture from invading. Ice crystals once thawed out would become a deadly water drop.

Awesome! So fridge, not freezer. Or just use silica desiccant… but I don’t think I have any left… those packets were not safe with my toddler around. Thank you!
My thought originally was maybe the moisture would rupture the pollen when it froze, as stated in that article. But otherwise I thought those ice crystals would be small enough two sublimate, hence the freeze dry
Crystal cat litter is a super adsorbent form of desiccant gel, basically its more poofed for more surface area. Just make a sachet in a coffee filter…
Or go to the dollar store and get a Damp-rid. I use these to dry mushroom super fast.
