Done. Thank you! I was actually trying to do that earlier. Was out smoking with my buddies eating ice cream and climbing shit to show off. I was the only one to make it up there LoL. Anyways ramble over with(I tend to have severe ADHD) I figured it out. Just in time to relax while the babies sleep.
What should I be looking for to know when it’s time to start 18/6 cycle? I’m on a 20/4 one ATM.
Oh yeah! I have basil, oregano, cilantro, and garlic chives sharing space with the babies. I’m hoping I get girls, but I’m prepared for intersex and males.
I plan on getting some wood and mylar to make a growbox in that room. I can install carbon filters and insulation later once I’m back on my feet. I’ll do most anything for my children.

I want to see how it goes first with my companion plants before I give up on them. I don’t have any seeds to replace them with and the soil I can make from homemade compost and worm casings we make at home. I did forget to mention the soil I bought did have mushrooms growing on the bottom of the bag. I went organic soil only. It appears to be good soil if I’m lucky enough to kill those aphids

keep them where they are, time wise, until they are ready to flip to flower (when nodes start alternating instead of symmetrical) then you can switch time to 12/12 and watch the fun

I’m hoping the soil isn’t infested, but if I luck out I’m really hoping for female. They should all show sex around the same time with some variation for different phenotypes and genotypes
Nicotine is the only way. N if you need seeds I’ll send ya sum np. Just buy good soil if I do plz. Ohh and a big tip for soil sterilizing. Put your bags of soil in the front seat of your car with the windshield pointing towards the sun (in the summer). Just leave it in there for the day n heat will kill everything

What kind of nicotine? Ive seen people use cigarettes, but I’m looking to avoid all those chemicals unless that’s the reason it works. Aside from the miracle grow fertilizer I’ve stayed organic.
I haven’t seen any runoff on the bin below. I’ll be getting some help to lift this 300lb monster and see if I need to drill bigger holes. I plan on installing a hose at the bottom of the bin below to drain runoff and allow me to test it easier.
I’ll be getting fox farm and happy frog next time with some pearlite, vermiculite, and promix. Though next grow I might want to go hydro. My local shop has all I need for hydro but little for soil.
Nicotine is natural just like thc it’s even in eggplant tomatoes n lots of others it’s a natural plant defence

That I Know. I’ve been telling people that too. I just meant if you were telling me to buy pure nicotine or a way to make my own. I’ve only smoked a couple cigs I’m my life and pretty much just to prove a point to my friends. I get the kind free of chemicals and pesticides to keep my lungs as healthy as possible if I smoke it. I have severe asthma, so u have to watch what I smoke. It’s the main reason I’m growing my own. Best price I can get for lab tested is 600 a QP. I’ve leaned towards dabbing after my friend showed me it a few years ago. I prefer low temp dabs. I can always heat gently to get the rest before swabbing the polymers.
With my usage rate I’ll be needing to grow my own medicine. I’ll be learning everything I can from each grow I attempt. It’s the family business after all. I should know it by now.
I can answer any questions if I’ve forgotten any details. I tend to zone out and get distracted. Fact is I’m not as bad rn🤣
All it takes is a good indica and usually around 100mg CBD terpsolate. I’ve spent the last year learning my dose. Lasts me a few hours before I’m back to cycling thoughts and bugging everyone.

You can get nicotine that they use for mixing vape juice. That’s what I keep on hand I also mix juice too. Or can make a tea from a bag of pipe tabacco.
That’s what I was thinking too. I was picturing the big bottle of pure nicotine for ejuice.
If worst case scenario I have to scrap this grow I’ll be getting my area prepped for the next attempt before I start. I want to have my area with full spectrum that I can control the balance on.
I have a area up in Maine that once I check out I’ll send pics and we can see how the soil is. I just need one of my busy friends with a truck to have a free day to head up there.
went through your thread and noticed you mention making your compost and was wondering if you have a good working knowledge of what it takes to make proper compost? Many people try their hand at and and fail at it miserably! Ratios of C/N are important as well as temps… temps should not go over 155 degrees and moisture and air are vital in thermal composting. There are anaerobic bacteria that can grow in piles quite easily and end up being detrimental to plants that are used with it let me know if ya think this might be the issue and I can help steer ya in the right direction with info and vids good luck on your grow!

We use a compost bin at home for years. The owner of the house is a landscaper by trade. Know it all type. I’ve seen him make it for years, but I can’t say if he knows. I’m a little new to all this information, but I’m willing to learn all I have to.
I do know they compost food scraps mostly. Lots of bananas, coffee grinds, eggshells, and avocado skins. To my knowledge they don’t bother to compost leaves in the bin or use very little overall.
The bin is a black plastic kind with lots of ventilation points. I’d have to ask them if they regulate the temp and humidity or else I’d be better off buying it from somewhere else.

IMO those types if I’m thinking correctly are a throw it in and forget it type, I’d probably steer away from and think there a waste of money . A 3x3x3 is about the volume of thermal mass that is needed for it to heat up properly. A nice section of 12-15 chicken wire wired together to make a circular pin would do, thats about 3 feet wide would work perfectly. The pile needs turned and watered frequently ( outside to center of pile) type of rotation, I personally use pallets that can be found almost anywhere that people junk and I wire 3 together for an open end Bin
I don’t have that much space here. I’m in a studio apartment. The room I’m growing in will last me long enough to either get a truck or find a reliable friend to bring me daily until I can move to Maine. Though I might end up in California with occasional trips to Hawaii to see my family.

Thank you! I’ll need any help I can get. I want to grow organic and hydro only. It’s for my health that I get these babies grown as clean as possible. I have severe asthma to the point l have a asthma attack if I don’t cough up the fluid I’m drowning in from smoking bud that’s too dry or not cured right. It’s the main reason I try to vape or dab my medicine. There’s many other reasons I have to smoke, but believe it or not my asthma has improved to the point where I can safely leave my inhaler at home for the first time in my life.

I almost forgot today’s first update!
They’re improving a lot today. I’m noticing the stems are getting noticably thicker finally.
They all started out leggy originally. I transplanted them into solo cups. When one died from a heavy hand I checked the root system to see how it did. It was too long for the cups. The roots were trying to grow out of the drain holes and they were only spreading down not out. Once I got them in the bin I have them in now they started to look like they do now. It’s only been a week since they were put in this bin. They’re only 18 days old.
Here’s the pics of them as they started out the bin transplant happened on June 7th.
They grew fast in this medium compared to where they started. This is June 11th.
Now here’s today’s pics.

How many gallons are you using for containers ?

It’s a 27 gallon container. I cut the center of the lid off one to use the 2nd bin as a Reservoir. I’m using 4 cubic feet of soil. 1 of the 4 is ecoscraps compost and the other I’m gonna have to dig the bag out for the name. Either way I didy best to go organic as much as possible. I only used MG because it was my only option at the time. I can buy micro nutrients at the store for 15 once I get it
My options were severely limited, but they weren’t handling the cups well at all. I had just done a clean up of my house which in hindsight I could’ve used some of those containers to help. My buddy is insisting on me going hydro for this grow, but to my knowledge it’s too late for that right?
