My roots are strong and deep: an ongoing grow log

lol please enjoy that on my behalf! Despite my love of altered states and longtime skepticism of drug prohibition and such, I’ve only done psychedelics once - 1.75 grams of shrooms on a summer day in 2009. Simpler times…

Thanks for the writing compliment! My teachers always said I was a clever boy. I do thankless IT enterprise customer support basically. Believe me I write some incredibly clear and descriptive-yet-concise emails. Writing is one of a long list of things I’d like to do more of in an alternate reality where I don’t give of all my vitality to my kids, job, and wife. It’s the life I’ve chosen, but it can be hard to accept that my needs and wants for personal fulfillment are not the priority right now.

Rant and write away here, amigo :cowboy_hat_face:
I also love coming here and reading these

Seems we have a couple musical interests in common. That always adds extra personality to the fun

Good luck while family is staying over. It can be frazzling and exhausting. I hope some of it will be enjoyable. Do you like to cook? Maybe the kitchen can be a decent refuge :cook: Focusing on a meal makes a great excuse to tell people to get out and leave you alone

Haha, I was just making a joke! No digging holes with fungi today. My take on Bender’s ’blackjack and hookers’.
Although I do micro dose when I can and I do love it! Raw energy without caffeine, and clear, clean focus. Sometimes I’ll take 4 micro doses(1.5-2g) and I’ll just get a super euphoric high and everything is slightly more vivid.
I bet you’d love micro dosing.

Absolutely! I’ve been meaning to try microdosing but need to get off my ass and grow some shrooms first. I have zero connects or whatever and prefer to make my own drugs anyway haha. It’s funny - that one shroom experience I referenced was overall positive, but it was just me and my buddy having fun and doing drugs. I didn’t really take anything out of it other than I was high as fuck and saw a piece of algae-ridden styrofoam that made me uneasy as it squirmed in my vision and I thought about plastic pollution and how much I hate it. Then later we hung out on some railroad tracks and the creosote also made me uneasy. Lesson learned - minimize industrial manmade shit next time I’m actually tripping!

Oh but now I remember where I was going with this…the experience itself was not profound by any means, but it was the summer before my junior year of college and you know what? That semester I performed better in all areas of life than I probably have before or since. Excelled in my classes, asked out my now wife, ran my best cross country race ever, and just generally had a really good time. Maybe the lasting effects of psilocybin in my brain had something to do with that! Fun to think about. Who’s really in control here?? Lol. Gotta go get my kids from daycare now. I have plant pics but they’ll have to wait because I went and did a blog post.

[I don’t keep up with what internet humor references are widespread anymore…but that’s one of my favorites]

I will get to plants in this post I swear. I have some more ramblings to do first. When things work out with work meetings and other assorted duties, I like to vape one bowl off my vape around 4:00 most days. That used to be beer o’ clock for me, and I got out of the habit of drinking at home as I got more interested in weed. I guess I crave that chemical release after a hard day in the salt mines lol. Just kidding, my job is not strenuous and is usually not very stressful. I just like catching a chemical buzz. Where I was going with this is that I will often do that little vape sesh and it does the trick. A nice little mood boost and slight weed buzz. However, I do notice that I get pretty lethargic pretty quickly after it, which is not ideal when fighting the get-food-into-children-and-also-get-outside-also-bedtime battle. It’s all hands on deck, man. This is part of why I want to find good energetic “up” weed, because I need all the energy I can get to parent effectively lol.

Today I skipped the afternoon bowl even though I could have sparked it real good. I talked with a recruiter about a somewhat exciting potential new job and I was fired up from that in a good way so I guess I didn’t crave the release or whatever. Which all leads me to this which is that I would also find subsequent weed dosages on days with afternoon bowls did not hit as hard as that first bowl. Almost like I build a tolerance over the course of hours each day. Then by 4:00 the next day it’s receded enough and blah blah blah. Maybe that’s exactly what it is? I guess it would make sense. So now that the kids are both almost :crossed_fingers: :fist: :wood: asleep I am one vape bowl deep on Farmer’s Daughter so I can actually evaluate its effects more cleanly.

So, uhhh Farmer’s Daughter review I guess! Humboldt Seed Co. doesn’t get tons of love here and I can see why now. Not that this stuff is bad - it’s actually pretty good - but it’s not gonna blow you away or be anything terribly unique. I bought these before I had spent any time on this site and I was just looking around on NASC kinda aimlessly and wanted half packs because I’m cheap and don’t have much space anyway. So that’s how I ended up with these - it’s listed as I believe a 60% sativa effect. It’s basically a bunch of OG flavors smashed together with maybe some gelato in there or something? It’s modern low yield, high frost, high calyx/leaf ratio weed for sure. But I do find it’s definitely not sleepy weed. Not energizing per se, but maybe focusing? I mean, it’s certainly enabling some long fucking winded rambling here! Sorry dudes BTW.

It smells really nice in the jar. Definitely floral with some gas in the background. Maybe a touch of mint? Look at me talking like Paul Giamatti in Sideways. “If anyone orders any Cookies I’m leaving! I am not smoking any FUCKING COOKIES!” It’s got a nice almost blue tint to it in the jar. It was a dream to trim. I mean, I don’t even really bother with trimming anymore - I basically just rip off sugar leaves before chucking nugs in my grinder. But this stuff you could “trim” to like bag appeal level just by breaking off 3 or 4 sugar leaves off each nug. So easy.

Starting to get some cotton mouth. Gonna start bowl #2 here. My vape goes up to 220C/428F, and I’ve been keeping it at 220C because you still get good flavor the first 2 or 3 hits and then you’re just puffing to get high and 220C gets you there most effectively lol. But I’m setting it to 170C for flavortown. I keep it on C despite being Amerifat because I’m a scientist (not…). What do it taste like? I have ragweed allergies and haven’t showered in 2 days so I’m not tasting much on the inhale and just kinda floral on the exhale. In a nice way though, not too strong.

As for the effect I like it. I’m starting to get a noticeable body buzz halfway through this second bowl. Not bad for less than half a gram of weed! Most of my stuff is either about this potent or less, so it’s good but not a huge standout in any way. I would say where this one really shines is vigor and ease of growth, resistance to rot, resin production, and ease of trimming. I still have 4 seeds of this I think. Will I grow them again? Probably at some point, especially if I ever can grow outdoors. Will I buy this one again? Nah. Would I keep a clone? Probably not. Too much other stuff to check out!

I honestly don’t even know what would clear that “would buy again” bar. I think it would have to be something where I grew out a pack, didn’t take clones or make F2s, but then found the BEST WEED EVER in those jars. Something that just broke through everything, no ceiling, euphoric, all that shit. Then I would be compelled to first hope the seeds were still available and then promptly purchase like 2 more packs to hunt for that pheno again.

In conclusion, if you were looking for feminized seeds from a commercial outdoor breeder in California, yeah go for these. Otherwise, I’d say if there’s anything else from the vast array of OG and GSC type plants that tickle your fancy you should direct your energies there.

Whew, if anyone read this far, I hope it distracted you from some bullshit. I too enjoy the poetic waxings of my fellow OG posters. Next up: actual photos of my weeeed plants :open_mouth:

Okay, yesterday I forgot to post the photo I took of my little DLA5.3 girl. Here is a top-down view of her:

She’s doing well. Not gonna get much yield off her. Maybe just that top cola lol. But if it’s really good shit I’ve got half the pack left, plus its brother’s children sprayed all over the place.

Speaking of which. I didn’t document my actual pollen chucking but imagine a person waving a q-tip around and brushing it on lower branches of weed plants. That’s what it looked like. I thought about doing the whole thing where you put a bag over the branch, mist everything, remove bag, dust, or some variation thereof. Then, I decided I don’t really care about the occasional unexpected seed. I mostly vape anyway, I’m not gonna notice a ground up immature seed most likely. And when I do smoke, it just all tastes shitty and burnt to me anyway. I only do it to (a) be cool and (b) get stoned properly :cowboy_hat_face:

So all that said, I think I see beans forming on these two branches that I did NOT intentionally dust. Haha. You know what? Unpopular opinion, but if you’re only growing for yourself who cares if you have a few stray seeds. Or if you trim your weed well. I think people stress too much about that stuff. Or maybe they’re still growing for the black market to…support their weed habit? Can’t be too much dough in that anymore.

I did another dusting before putting away the pollen in a vial with rice and into the crisper drawer with my modest little seed stash. Moar seeds!

Oh man, this part had me laughing hard
Imagine a 2024 Sideways update, this time in Mendocino instead of wine country

Sweet update on the HSC Farmer’s Daughter. I had also been looking into them before I joined here and grabbed some of their “Mixed Nutz” fems at NASC.

I feel similarly about finding occasional seeds :v:
Literally seen people get upset at finding one seed in their dispo bud. Like…okay, and? You’re welcome for the gift is how I would take it

I’m glad someone appreciates me trying to do a hilarious movie impression through the medium of a text and image based weed grow log :joy:!

Today was day 30F. The ESB girls are getting surprisingly chunky - this sucker is gonna yield like crazy! Just gotta keep the thicc girls mold-free this time. The overall climate should favor me in that regard, and I’m also getting the circulating fan going sooner this time in addition to the exhaust.

I always forget that I have 5 plants of this! They are all extremely uniform in structure and share a kind of background juicy fruit, sweet scent. One has a unique blueberry jam on top of that, and a different one has some funk to it maybe? I was hoping for more funk - not a huge sweets guy in general. But in the end I’m growing for fun and for the effect of the finished product. Okay, enough rambling, here is a photo of each ESB top cola.

Here is my little DLA5.3 runt. Isn’t she cute?

Here is the Ortega followed by the DTH. They are both one week behind the ESBs.

Here are the PXB seedlings. The four in front are all doing very well and are off to the races. The two in back have been stragglers all along. I think the back right one that’s super short will make it as long as the stem lengthens a bit. The one in the back left it probably a goner. I did helmet removal surgery on it and might have snapped the taproot in the process. But I’ve read tales of miracles on this very site so I’ll keep spraying it with water and stuff.

I was thinking I wouldn’t keep a male of these, but now I’m leaning towards picking one because what if I really like this stuff and don’t have any more seeds? I would have to buy some like a fuckin’ chump! Lol, I’m sure I’m gonna buy more Ace gear in the future regardless, but ideally I’ll sample a bunch of stuff.

What I realized after writing that Farmer’s Daughter review is that there is one other regard in which it represents modern weed well - short fuckin’ duration! I was pretty much sober by like 10:00 that night…lame. But it’s a nice “palate cleanser” in some ways. I’ll probably end up making some into hash cuz it’s frosty af bruh.

Adios!

Managed to grab some pics today and also apply some top dress. The EB Jr. with 3 plants in it is getting sucked dry pretty quick and those plants are all showing more leaf yellowing than the others. I need to get in there and remove dead and dying leaves tomorrow or later this week if at all possible. I really don’t wanna have any bortrytis bullshit this run.

Today was day 28 for these 2:
Ortega

Durban-Thai Highflyer

Day 35 for the ESBs. They are starting to fall over a bit - I should probably install another layer of trellis!

Day 35 for this lil’ DLA 5.3 as well:

In the 2x2, I’m still nursing those little PXBs out of the seedling stage. The 4 vigorous ones are starting to get their 3 fingered leaves. The little one is like one node behind them, and then the one that I thought was a goner might still be alive! I forgot to get pics of it today, but I put the rapid rooter it was sitting in in a little tub of rapid start solution yesterday because at that point I thought it was a goner anyway and I had the rapid start sitting around. This morning I actually saw hints of green on tiny little true leaves. So who knows maybe I can still go 6/6.

Okay that’s all I got for now. Smoke up the weed!

Howdy folks, we’ve made it to 50 posts! Yipee! Maybe I’ll hit 100 sometime in 2025 haha.

One thing I haven’t mentioned on here is that I dabbled in a bit of guerilla growing this summer. A little treat for my loyal readers! I live across the street from a large park here in the Twin Cities. Without divulging too many identifying details (so none of you mfs come try to rip my plants! ;)), this park is about half mown grass and half woods/wetland. The other side of this park from my house is a highway. So it’s actually a pretty good guerilla grow location for a place as desely populated as I live in. I put four plant out there sometime in July I believe. I didn’t take photos at first because I was having fun being all secret agent about it lol.

What with living the chaotic life of a new parent, I have barely tended to them (which I suppose is part of the point of guerilla growing!). We had a super wet spring and first half of the summer, and since August it’s been bone dry. I hadn’t checked the plants in at least a month until earlier this week, and the 3 I checked were still kickin’! It’s gonna dip down to about 32 on Tuesday night, so I think it’s time to chop them and see how they smoke! I’m gonna have to wash the crap out of them. The park has a ton of cottonwood trees and thistles that have littered all the plants with seeds and debris.

This one is “Don Carlos” from HSC.

A cross of their version of Sour D with “Blackberry OG” or something like that. I grew it indoors this spring and it’s nice. That was when I was struggling with low temps and fucking up with Promix, so it barely yielded for me. It was also super purple indoors…weird. If I got more from this little guerilla plant I wouldn’t be mad about it!

Here’s Ortega. I never intended to grow out this much damn Ortega and yet here we are. At first I thought I liked it, but after the most recent one molded to shit on me I’ve kinda turned against it. But it’ll be interesting to see how outdoor grown compares to indoor.

Lemongrass, also from HSC. I guess I bought a lot of their shit in 2020-2021 eh? I believe it’s a cross of some Humboldt cut called “Lemon Kush” and some gelato cut. I grew a different seed of this last summer and I still have some bc she was thicc. I like the smell of it, and it’s pretty potent.

I have one more in this park that either died, got ripped, or I just can’t find it. It was nothing special, just a white label “sour diesel” from nasc. Overall, this guerilla growing shit has been a fun low stakes way to try outdoor growing. Someday I hope to have a plant in my yard but I live on a busy corner and don’t want to invite prying eyes. Someday I hope we reach southern Ontario levels of weed saturation that would make nobody pay special attention to a few weed plants in the yard. I really do believe this plant wants to be under the sun.:sunny:

Your guerilla girls look mighty healthy. Have you been feeding them supplemental nutrients? I bet that soil is rich with organic matter with all that litter on top.

What happened with ProMix? These new bags of Sunshine Mix #4 I got seemed to have way more perlite than I remember. I’m considering going back to ProMix afterwards.

Aw, shucks! I have not given them any nutrition other than whatever was left in the soil I transplanted them with. I still haven’t harvested them and it’s been frosty the past couple nights. We’ll see if they’re even still usable. I should have time to go harvest them tomorrow. The soil is sandy but rich in organic material. It feels really nice to handle and smells fresh. All three of those girls are within 15 feet of open water. I’ve got big plans for my 2025 guerilla efforts. I might try to cut some paths through the brush in the winter/spring and shit.

As for my Promix adventures, the last run I did before starting this log was really rough. I was using Promix HP as my hydroponic medium running GH trio + supplements. The plants were cold and getting blasted with light, taco leaves, slow growth, low yield. I originally switched from coco/perlite to promix because i wanted to get away with watering less often. Promix achieved that, but at the expense of stressing my plants more because I never really stuck to a consistent watering schedule and was often too reactive I think. If I do any hydro grows in the future I think I’ll go back to coco and set up some sort of automated watering system. Like one of them octopus things :octopus: . I’m high and rambling lol.

Anywho, I grabbed some quick photos of the tent ladies today. Here are close up views of two of the different ESBs.

The smells are still very fruity overall. The buds feel very oily when I squeeze them then rub my fingers together.

Here is the DLA 5.3. This will yield like an eighth lmao. I hope it’s good shit!

A couple pics from the bookends of the day. I live near several major highways and an airport, and yet we have enough park land here that it supports some bald eagles. Sometime within the last couple of weeks one of them moved into a big white pine that is 3/16 of a mile from my front door. I saw the eagle in its nest this morning and got a crappy zoomed in pic:

I went out and smoked a little pin joint of Pineapple Chunk after getting kiddos to bed. The moon is bright as hell. I guess tomorrow is the full moon - The Hunter’s Moon. That’s fun. Maybe I will pop some seeds because a lot of folks on here seem to like it and one effect of consistent weed use on my brain is that I’m way more down with the woo woo shit than I ever was before. lol :crystal_ball: :mage: :crescent_moon: :seedling:

I’ve decided that my grand ambition in life is to get some Original Haze seeds and then grow them and make seeds with them and shit, then post about it in the Haze threads and have really strong opinions about people I’ve never met and what their motives and ambitions in life are. Because this site needs more fighting and drama, and gosh darnit somebody has to step up to the plate. But seriously…I need to spend less time lurking the threads where people like to argue or do annoying banter. I love reading about weed, and this site provides a somewhat steady trickle of weed content I can read throughout the day. But lately more and more threads are just drama bullshit. So in an effort to have weed content to read that is not forums, I ordered a used copy of “Marijuana Botany” that I’m gonna start reading soon. I’m gonna play like I’m a biology major and shit. :cowboy_hat_face:

That sounds exciting dude, I’ll virtually tag along for the ride. When I lived in NYC, I wanted to start a community grow at Van Cortlandt park at this neat little spot where people used to smoke at. Then a group of homeless found it and fucked it all up, shitting all over the place and leaving their poopy boxers scattered all over.

I like octopus things too man, I think you’re on to something good there. I also don’t really have a set watering schedule, I actually go off a bit of plant wilt to tell when it’s time. I’ve been told that I shouldn’t do this, but that’s never stopped me before.

Weed, you say? That stuff sounds kind of alright, man. I’d like to try some of this weed stuff everyone’s raving about.

I’d love to bring these Pineapple Showers to a stable F generation and send you some beans. If you’re into pineapple, the f1s reek of it. Their yield is just a bit low. Might be worth throwing a few in the wild to see how they fare.

Ah, don’t let it get to ya pal. Just keep mental notes of who’s who and leave it at that. There’s plenty of chill people on here that just stay low key in journals. There’s not really a need to interact elsewhere if you don’t want to.

Hey, I just read through your log and I concur with the person who said your writing is enjoyable to read! Many chuckles, and a bits I pulled to quote here as I went.

some of us definitely did not resist that tendency in their first post () (or subsequent posts )

Ahem, from earlier tonight before I started reading this:

I have a theory about this. I find that I get what I call “strain blindness”. I have no idea if this is a term other people use. I find that having the same strain for multiple (vape) bowls in a row leads to not really noticing when it hits, it just kind of all smooths out to less than if all of the bowls were the first one of the day.

But if I have strain A, then B, then back to A, if they have noticeably different effects (even if both sativa or both indica) I will feel A more the second time than if I’d had 3 bowls of A. I don’t know if that makes sense. But perhaps try that? Maybe you have! I’d be curious to know if it has made a difference for you.

Your plants are looking good! I hope everything gets to harvest uneventfully!

Wow, thanks Mr. C! I will let you know regarding the Pineapple Showers. Very nice of you to offer! That’s cool that you’ve got a goal in mind for stabilizing those. I see people say that having an actual goal is the difference between pollen chucking and actual breeding. So, good on you dude! Also very fun that you did the whole “living in NYC” thing that young people are supposed to do. Bummer about the poopy underwear though. My little guerilla location has definitely been a campsite for the alternatively-housed in the past, but they seem to have left it alone this year.

Thanks also for the pep talk regarding the teenagers-turned-genX-stoners and the arguing they love to do on the computer. I should probably go track down more grow logs and put them on watch so I have more stuff to read. That and some old information-rich threads on breeding projects and stuff…i should bookmark some of those and just switch to 'em every time the, for example, sour diesel thread goes to shit. Typing that makes me realize I really haven’t grown anything that truly hits with that G A S even though I’m drawn to that smell. Need to get on that one of these days…

On that note, I can’t say I bought the Pineapple Chunk out of some unusual love for Pineapple. A lot of my seed purchases in 2020-2021 were made based on some combination of what Grow Weed Easy recommended (they love Barney’s…or at least did back then), and what was available in half or even third packs from NASC. Pineapple Chunk fit the bill there, and then I’ve just ended up growing it 2 out of the last 3 grows for some reason. And to me it doesn’t even smell like Pineapple. I get a lot more cheese out of it, and earthiness. Maybe a tiny bit of fruity sweetness just smelling the dried buds. Anyway, did somebody order a wall of text?

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by! Glad to hear some of the rambling has been entertaining - there’s plenty more where that came from haha. We’re gonna go to 100 posts, then 500, and then the White House, and YEEEEEEEYYYAHHHHHHH!!! [howard dean voice…no this is not political…just a funny meme from 2004 hahahaha]

I do think you’re onto something with the strain fatigue idea. There is usually not too much method to my madness as far as what strains I consume and when. It’s very “vibes” based and, as I’m always reminding my loyal readers, I have smol children and usually by the time dad gets some smoke time the main priority is what is already ground up lol. I would say I remember what’s in my grinder roughly half the time. But I do like to switch it up. I almost feel like the euphoric effect of cannabis for me is during the comeup. At least these days with my modest tolerance. So yeah I think you notice the comeup when you toke a relatively novel mixture of cannabinoids and terpenes rather than the stuff you’ve been hitting for a couple hours. It makes sense conceptually.

I don’t think I’ve ever set foot in Connecticut believe it or not. My wife is from Boston, so I go within striking distance quite a bit, but never get too far outside the metro area. We are heading to a wedding in Maine in a few weeks though. I’ve never been there either, so it’ll be fun to cross another state off the list.

is it though?

(It is, I was greatly amused )

Extremely reasonable. Not everyone has color coded containers next to their bong with different already ground strains in them. Possibly just me. Generally from dispensary I just grind everything in one go (I’m a heathen, I know), so if my hands are hurting, I don’t have to grind then medicate. Not sure what my routine will be with homegrown, but if I mostly grind fresh I’ll probably keep at least a few containers around to dump what’s left, so I’ll have a mix of pre-ground and fresh when I have the hands. Hopefully getting a smoother grinder soon too, which might change the equation.

This correlates to my experience I think. I’ve had times where I could only get a single “when wanting to be awake” and single “when wanting to go to sleep” option. Even with the same rate of consumption, it was always drastically different results than if I had 2 or more per category.

I definitely believe it! Even for people who live in New England, it’s kind of a hallway to most people. “the state you have to drive through to get from NYC to Boston” basically. I wouldn’t be surprised if your wife’s family had never been here either! Probably not all that much different scenery-wise from MA, but the Long Island Sound shoreline is pretty, rocky beaches and whatnot. I moved here from CO last year. IT’S SO GREEN. We’ve been really happy with the move. I hope you have fun in Maine! I haven’t been up there yet, but hoping to explore more as we’re settled in. If the opportunity arises while you’re there, apparently the weed quality in dispensaries is better than MA or CT. (CT’s is rough.)

Oh, on the contrary! I quite enjoyed it. So much so that I wanted to preserve the spot just for myself. I’ve been lucky enough to have a few interesting adventures, but I actually lived 20 minutes away in NJ for 10 years. I used my GI bill as an opportunity to move closer to my mother for a bit and attended a shitty college in the Bronx.

No problem about the Pineapple Showers. Those were actually accidental pollinations. I sacrificed the mothers entirely for seed so I’d like to put them to good use, because of destiny, or whatever the kids are calling it now a days. I’ll post pictures of the bud in my thread whenever it cures for a month. I currently wouldn’t do much more with it than chuck the seed in a ditch and see what happens to it.

image

I like staring at pretty pictures of lineages I’m interested in, plus I dig cool people too, so I’ll put those threads on “watching” and slowly catch up with them as I have some downtime.

What is happening duderinos? I’ve been wanting to type out some high ramblings, but 4-month-old Lil’ Bebé decided to get her first daycare respiratory virus and got really fussy and much less sleepy. She’s finally getting better, but it really takes it out of you never getting more than a few minutes break. Work has been stupidly busy as well. Overall I really need everyone to just smoke some weed and chill out ya know? I don’t care about your Q4 deadlines and shit! My goal is to smoke a pound of weed in Q4 personally.

If you expand this you can read a really long rant I barfed out. Yeah that's right I threw some HTML in this mf. Corporate America....we love don't we folks? We love it. I actually have a first round job interview on Friday for a gig that would be somewhat similar to my current one, but for 20%+ more money! I've been feeling super underpaid in my thankless IT consulting gig for some time now. Like, it was a great offer when I took the job, but then of course after I joined the company started sliding downhill and was never particularly generous with raises or promotions to begin with. Consulting is such a fucking ripoff it's ridiculous. It heightens all the contradictions of normal wage labor to stupid levels, by white collar standards of course. I am what I am - a pencil pusher who dreams of farming. But anyway, as a consultant, your employer's entire business model is to literally SELL YOUR LABOR for the highest possible cost the client will pay. Then, they turn around and pay you the absolute minimum they can get away with, thus maximizing profit margin. Yes, I know I just described running a business in a nutshell. I guess what I'm trying to highlight is that it is just so blatant. Like there's this negotiation that happens WITHOUT ME PRESENT OR KNOWING ABOUT IT AT ALL, where my leadership sits down with my client's leadership and agrees that my labor is worth $X amount of dollars more this year/quarter/what have you because he's so damn smart, increased costs, we are paying him more (but actually we are not), who knows how these conversations go. What I do know is that this increased revenue is not shared with me proportionally. What should happen is "Hey, good news, we negotiated our agreement for 2025 and the client is willing to pay us 3% more this year so we are increasing your pay by 3% as well." NOPE, that literally contradicts their fiduciary obligation to the fucking board, the fucking stockholders, all that bullshit.

So anyway, I swear to god I am going to manifest this new job using my weed smoking fake-but-not-fake spiritual woo woo powers! I dunno, on a serious note it’s just a first round interview and it’s a buyer’s market out there for technology companies with staffing needs. So I’m not gonna get my hopes up. I’m gonna prepare appropriately and then just treat it as a positive step forward in getting out aforementioned infuriating consulting job regardless of the outcome.

Weed.

:relieved: Okay, I typed out enough rage for the day. New job, spirit bomb! It’s gonna happen, in my mind… Now here’s a little photo essay from going out and harvesting my guerilla crop last Thursday:

Now here’s why if any of you are looking for someone who is pretty much the technologist. Like THE Technologist. Can you tell I’m high now? Lol. Well anyway, I made ‘em a grid. That’s right, a fookin’ grid! And I’ll do it again!

The tent ladies are looking pretty good. Some of the ESB’s have amber trichomes on the bracts already. Today was day 49. As I mentioned the other day on here, I’ll be going to a wedding on November 7 and gone for 5 days. November 7 would be day 66. I’m kinda thinking I might just have everything chopped by then. I’ve got little F2 hybrids of all of them if any really knock my socks off. Plus the rest of the pack I suppose. But I really wanna just keep hitting variety anyway. Also I really need to learn the actual way to judge ripeness or whatever that isn’t trichome color. Or something like that. I feel like I chopped a lot of stuff early my last 2 grows because I wanted to be done with them and it was within the breeder’s stated range. Who knows, man.

Do any of you listen to the Pot Cast? I sure do. I’m finally piecing together the basics of all the Neville, Skunkman Sam, etc. etc drama from recent episodes I’ve listened to. I always saw people allude to it on here, but never really cared enough to track down the history myself. I’ve also just finished listening to the 6 hour Chimera interview. I like a lot of the points he makes about how being this black market bad boy outlaw low numbers plant for 5 decades has held back cannabis immensely compared to other food or medicinal crops. And I think that is something we all should be able to agree on, regardless of you opinion on what the best way to develop superior cannabis cultivars should be. We really need this shit to become accepted enough to have large scale breeding programs to develop varieties that, for example, finish in September at 45N, produces piney terps at high levels, and dumps hash. Like what Chimera repeats throughout the interview is that there is no scary Jurassic Park shit in the vast majority of plant breeding. It really comes down to brute force growing out of thousands of plants to find those rare phenos that produce favorable traits that can then be isolated and reliably passed to offspring.

Whew! So many words. I just cannot control myself.

Weed…you should treat yourself with some weed if you read all of that absolute word wall. I know I am :sunglasses:
