Hope I help man and always glad to! And right back at ya! You’ve been my spirit guide on this one, so much encouragement and great advice, Im greatful brother
Ladies are gorgeous, just awesome man and sounding like an excellent plan to me, better safe than sorry but always worth it to push a few plants, parts of plants at least, push it to the limit!
Synchronization and symbiosis in full effect! Was gonna say, your top dress is a good idea on the hashplant, mine is still putting on weight hard too, really densing up, actually going to feed her again, just myco, a bit of pk booster and kelp because I do think I was under feeding, appreciate the advice there man, all the plants seem to be doing better now, but yeah, the hashplant seems extra hungry and the last buds are gonna be crazy, yours is absolutely stunning though, love those colors I had crossed a male Banana Berry Muffins with the mother of my Snowfire clone, might end up with something that looks similar from those beans, I sure hope so.
Well Good Luck and Good chattin, gettin back out there again, hands are already done and I still got this to go, I feel your pain brother!..
Thanks Dendro, the good gettin’s been 'got now. I’ll spray some peroxide whether it works or not according to your advice. I really appreciate your input, you’ve been helpful throughout. Glad to know I’ve provided the same for you!
Well, my first real grow emergency action, other than clipping rot without hesitation. The Snow-G is fuckin’ money - perfect harvest in terms of ripeness. It was just the haste that wasn’t ideal. Tomorrow I’ll go out and deal with trimming/bagging/putting things in the cabinet to dry properly. The temp outside is 60 and the RH is 70 so I just turned on the dehumidifier in the shed and we’ll let it go.
The outcome was good. I left the small buds and only took colas. My rain-free window was only about 2 hours so I only had time for the best-looking stuff to save. Probably got 3/4 of the weight off the Snow-G because it’s structure was just , very little larf or small branching, and honestly the Hawaiian Snow doesn’t even look like anything happened. I’m guessing just this pull is going to be more than 10oz of Snow-G and probably 4oz of Hawaiian Snow. So - I’m in the clear. I’ve got nothing to worry about, the rest of the season is just gravy on my turkey dinner now.
Very small amount of budrot, which is a huge relief. Anything that had even a hint of rot or what I thought might be mold (I think I found a spider egg sac but I’m paranoid) got tossed. The washwater was nastier than I’ve ever seen, probably because I used 2 bottles of hydrogen peroxide and the buds are just getting dirtier with the storms.
Thanks for the advice, I’m glad I followed it and got my ass in-gear this morning. If you guys were in my state, I’d make sure you both had a good sample of the smoke @Dendro@noknees
Ya man, the Snow G was a lot less mold resistant than advertised! I could’ve left her for another week but with trichomes mostly (if not all) cloudy, I took her down with plenty of PM all over.
I feel your pain, brother. I’m currently in trim jail but on work release (not trimming everything all at once, just trim a little and go do other stuff for a while, trim a little and go do other stuff). It also helps to have the full jars right where you can see them and see your progress. Plus, just looking at that much bud lifts my spirits. Whatever else it might be, it’s still a bunch of bud I didn’t have yesterday (or last week or last year…you get the idea). The stuff I’m working with was harvested early (50/50 cloudy and clear trichomes) so it has an “up” effect. I smoked a J with my third cup of coffee, and I was ready to get to work.
I’m thinking about dry-sifting all of my trim. I haven’t had any old-school hash in a long time. After I’ve gotten what I can from dry-sifting, I’ll do an alcohol extraction and use that for edibles.
Glad that @noknees alerted me to @NorthNorthNugs especially his experience that Snow-G isn’t as resistant as it could be. 5 trays of that, 3 trays of Hawaiian Snow drying safely in the cabinet. 3 consolidated trays of Hella Jelly and 2 trays left of Avenue of the Giants going through trim and into cure as I have time. The cabinet is stuffed to the brim.
@Herrsquidward I’m working my way through trim jail an hour or two at a time. How’s my trim looking? Am I doing too much or too little? It’s hard because I don’t really know what great bud looks like, all I’ve seen recently is machine trimmed little bugs from the dispo with snapped trichs and dense little conical nugs - so I’m a little bummed they don’t look as dank as they smoke. Maybe I’m a toke too far on the Hella Jelly already this morning I don’t know why I give a f how it looks. I’m just trying to do the best I possibly can with every step along the way, requesting honest feedback. Good or bad, please let me know if it looks bad and what to change
It looks good. Unfortunately, you may be asking the wrong person. I don’t care what it looks like and mine is pretty leafy. It’s important to you, and you’ve done very well. It looks like you got a decent harvest. Good stuff.
My favorite so far. I’ll probably run this one again, I still have several seeds. Between the nice high, the quick finish and the sweet terps, I think this is a winner.
If the THC levels are anywhere near what’s advertised (which they appear to be, judging by the trichomes), you’ve got some powerful smoke.
There is quite an interesting story behind what I’m working with right now. It’s Northern Lights auto that a friend of mine in another county grew. He said if I walked him through the process of growing it and helped trim, he’d split it right down the middle with me. Long story short, it worked out very well, and I now have literally more smoke than I know what to do with. It’s really good smoke, too. The aroma is a peppery pine and citrus, with next to no “skunkiness.”
Doing an excellent job homie, on the trimming…I usually just rush through it, but Ive been known to take my time, here and there…I don’t always trim, but when I do…I like to wet trim the big fans right out the gate and any obvious low trich blades or stems leftover, then I just try to get as much of each leaf blade off until its all trichs, if the leaf is all trichs, leave it or just take the tiniest tip. Obviously, taking a tiny snip off each blade seems to speed up the process so Ill do that when Im impatient, you dont seem to have that problem, my dude just wants it perfect, nothing wrong with that! All in the eye of the beholder, as you know, but after Ive done the pre wet trim, and all after a proper bath, of course, I just hang dry if huge donkey dicks or simply lay them in my mesh drying rack if lots of smalls or medium buds, and then just check on em till dry, then store however they are to be cured. Just my approach. Always subject to change!
Your flowers and trim job look outstanding, Ive had my eye on that hella jelly your whole grow, excellent job man! Gonna have to find me some beans of that one sometime. Great journal and really covering all the bases, well done Brother! Hope your having a nice relaxing evening
There’s certainly a tempation to rush through it, I have some level of concern with my drying cabinet FULL. Thing is literally full. No vacancy. It’s proven to be very reliable, so it’s not that I’m worried it’ll stop working or something but just knowing there’s that much weed to deal with gives me a little aprehension.
I’ve probably got at least 4 oz of Avenue to trim, and a bunch of Hella Jelly to get through soon - before the Hashplant ripens. The Dragon’s Hashplant is ripening faster now with the cold nights, it’s turning dark purple now and getting a pungent hashy smell with a faint bit of tropical fruit. No signs of rot tonight, pulled some buds apart and yanked dead fan leaves here and there. My wife’s friend sent her a pic of their weed plant earlier today, she laughed at it and went outside to grab a pic of the hashplant. It’s literally the only time I’ve ever seen her proud of them, but it’s a beauty of a plant.
I could always just put it in the giant Grove bags, so I know I have a bail-out option if I need to make quick room, but I’d prefer to just be done. I hate having work looming over my head, I’d much rather just get 'er done and truely relax.
Thanks for the reassurance that most folks get lazy once the buds start stacking up. Honestly, I never expected to be this successful. It’s good weed too…the smells are better than any dispo bud I’ve ever come across here. I kinda marvel at it whenever I light up. Definately changes the connection to it. I’m sure doing my own breeding would magnify that connection significantly, does it?
Thanks for all the support! Have a great night
I’ve got some extra HJ seeds…and some bubble mailers
Back from the trip, everything is looking dank/lit/fire/whatever the kids say these days. No water in a few day (stopped raining the day I left) so there were quite a few crispy leaves I pulled off, went through looking for bug/rot/mold issues and chopped anything suscicious. Here’s what they look like
Dragon’s Hashplant: She’s really getting pretty. Still a few fresh pistils, not going to do anything this weekend I don’t think. Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m looking for sleep out of her, I’ll let her go longer. Loving the color development - getting down into the 40s some nights. The colas are pretty big and dense, I’m shocked that I haven’t noticed but a little spot of bud rot towards the bottom of the plant. I found a spider nest in one and just chopped it out, I’d don’t want anything white in/on that girl unless it’s trichs right now. I’m over the moon she survived the monsoon week.
Hawaiian Snow: Shes pretty much the same size, had some spots of bug problems that are chopped off now. The colas in the dry cabinet are smelling great, shitty pic but you get the idea. Had a little test puff, feeling kinda spicy
Tobacco, has been in the cabinet for several months now. Smelling sweet and nice, may have something to do with the fact that this is an experimental tobacco curing-by-cannabis project. I know people either love it or hate it, I’m in the former camp. Maybe I’ll roll up a HJ spliff this afternoon
Welcome home buddy, everything is looking fantastic in here, the DHP is particularly looking steller, those are some really dense flowers, and the dry cabinet is seriously dope AF, I want to see a spliff with those leaves when you wrap up, Have a good one Man!
