Dude, this is blasphemy. The midget Gene Kiss doesn’t even have the demon claw boots on. He’s wearing Keds! And his tongue is nowhere near long enough. And that might be Paula Stanley… I dunno where you find your friends dude… You hang out in some strange places!

Don’t even get me started on Kiss. I went to my buddy’s house once and his brother Tommy had a packed house in his room of some guys I knew and one I didn’t. Within five minutes somehow Kiss came up and how much they sucked and the kid I just met made a fatal error. He said “I like Kiss” and me and Tommy instantly looked at either other with impish delight before roasting the shit out of this kid and Kiss for the next hour. I didn’t bump into the kid again but he was always referred to as “Kiss fan” from then on out.

Holy shit I haven’t thought of that in a awhile and I’m cracking myself up over here. That dude picked the wrong thing to say and the wrong dudes to say it in front of  It was like walking up to the two most vicious pitbulls you could find and showing them you have a steak in your pocket.

I’m just sayin’

The demon claw boots would go well with the chainmail fuckvest…

Believe it or not, for as many concerts as I HAVE been to, Kiss is not on that list! Probably spent too much time following Phish around

I mean I hate Kiss but they’re like Zeppelin compared to Phish :kissing_heart:

The boots are too cartoony, a chainmail fuckvest is legit brutality.

Nothing beats a good Pat Boone concert! That last one I saw he was actually drinking on stage!!! Well, full disclosure, it was buttermilk, but still!

Meh, dunno. I think these are much more brutal than any death metal band I’ve heard screaming at the top of their lungs about how hardcore they are. Both are sleepers and take a minute or two, but then they take a sharp left turn. Upside down and backwards, baby, that’s the way we rock! :stuck_out_tongue: In the name of Barrabas…

I’m just gonna ask. Do you like Extreme?

Lol, no, not particularly… did you watch the full videos? They’re not as nice and sweet as they seem. I’ve never seen the video where Extreme roasts the Catholic Church for its corruption and greed, or where they show two lovers out in the woods engaging in consensual adult activities… like human sacrifice.

I heard some guys talking about them. Like I said, I just had to know how out there you guys really are. LOL
:joy:

Pretty far out there, but certainly not enough to consider Extreme brutal or hardcore in any way. :stuck_out_tongue: Satanist rock, on the other hand, gets a pass.

The little bit of the conversation that I heard didn’t take it that far. They spoke of some crazy stuff though. I’d heard that song “More Than Words” before. I didn’t picture them when I heard it though.

Like 80’s/90’s band Extreme with Gary Cherone and Nuno Bettencourt? They had some good albums, especially for the hair band period. Met Gary and Nuno in Providence

@Cormoran will give that a listen to later. Currently listening to:

And boy its bringing back some good memories. I was actually at that show

Do it when you’re in the mood for, or at least ready to deal with, dark and disturbing. I found it that way, anyway… not the music, mind you. With the music, you have to listen carefully to find the dark and disturbing bits. The videos, on the other hand, kinda smack you in the face with it, especially that first link. It’s like oh, a love ballad! Wait a second… something’s not entirely right with this picnic.

Thanks for the heads up LOL. Yeah compared to some chillin Dead tunes, that’d be a total u-turn right now. definitely give it a watch / listen this afternoon… LOL

I swear to God the universe is trolling me. Everyone talks about how hard they rock and then I go listen to them and they sound like Meatloaf meets Liberace. It’s like the audio is being switched on me or something  I have on multiple occasions listened to multiple songs fans suggested and I don’t understand the disparity between what they’re hearing and what I’m hearing.

More than words can describe brother  I don’t think I’ve ever heard another one of their songs lol

I mean one of my favorite bands is best described as if Black Sabbath and Neil Young had a baby obsessed with serial killers :grinning:

The universe is not trolling you; the band is trolling you. They’re Satanists. Everything is upside and backwards, a purposeful reversal of all that is good or pure… like, in their case, the pure death metal that they’re “supposed” to play as Satanists. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yea but a Joni Mitchell song wouldn’t suddenly rock if you made a video with horror film footage

Shrug, I like melody as much as the next guy, and their songs are catchy… and I don’t find the subject matter anywhere near as trite as most pop music. :stuck_out_tongue: I can’t think of anything they do that’s really hard as far as the sound, they’re more about the lyrics and symbols. I guess the closest off the top of my head would be:

Still more about the lyrics and symbols being purposefully dark than just heavy, discordant noise though. I like that more, the more gravelly ultra-hard metal just annoys me because I can’t understand anything they’re singing. If you’re gonna have lyrics, they should be understandable, imo…

Those are as rock as I’ve heard from them at least. Still not my thing but a million times better than Phish!

Here’s the band I was talking about. Most people can’t get past the voice but it grew on me and they’re awesome. They put on a hell of a live show too.

Oh and I can never remember which two songs are them but they covered 2 Charles Manson songs
