Took this earlier of the outside ladies. Love the sunflowers in the background
Looking good for sure there, @Nagel420 !!
@Sebring does spirit train have any freak show lineage? This is 1 of 2 I started. The other looks normal.
@Rabeats2093 well, the non variegated blueberry herer had good growth spurt, the variegated definitely slowed down this week. Both of them here:
Still doing well, just not as large as it’s sibling…
Rearranged a bit yesterday with the autos getting g chopped… these are the photos I won in the server raffle… there’s absolute in this tent…
Thanks for the kind words @JohnnyPotseed , means something coming from you bud…
I call it like I see, no punches pulled cuz… You’ve got this! Looking very nice, indeed.
On the one variegated plant I had come from the SnowRyder I just got through budding out, there was no discernable difference in anything concerning taste, effect, smell etc…other than the ‘looks’ the buds were even half-side white lol
Looks very good @Nagel420
The colors are amazing! Great work!
I figured the lack of chlorophyll might be why it’s slower than it’s sibling. Germed and planted same day, the green one really jumped ahead this week (on par with the black creams planted at the same time). So I can see it’s slower for sure. It’s gonna be neat come buds, interesting to know the variegated even went to the buds for you. Surprised it didn’t effect taste in a positive way, that chlorophyll is responsible for that hay taste and smell…
Yeah that blue jack only grew about a foot and a half tall I told you she would start flowering in about three weeks I can’t wait to see what she does to be honest
I thought so too, but hey I’m not gonna complain! lol
There was no ‘hay’ taste
With your track record, if you ever get hay tasting stuff, it’s gonna be actual HAY… I’m saying for most newbs, that hay taste comes from the chlorophyll and not enough dry / cure. With less chlorophyll here, its surprising it didn’t taste different, but then again maybe not if you just do proper cures every time… I need to put down this doob… LOL
This spirit train really looks freak show like… but it’s cool as hell! I like the funky varieties…
The variegated blueberry herer auto is looking good too.
Finally, 5 days since I sprayed this black cream auto with eliteXelite… axial tip was toasted but he (better be a he now!) Seems to be growing 2 nice branches from the nearest node…
Are they as yummy as their looks and names.?
Still need a bit of a cure, but comments from the boys up the street make me smile Fruity for sure, not gassy, no cough… hits better than anything found locally… I can’t wait to see what a little time curing does!! I REALLY want an apothecary cabinet for these jars!!
I finally broke down and scraped the one I had a few years ago. It was real and I had it over 40 years. Got it in the '70 from a vet.
I had an old medical office metal one when I kept my reef tanks when I was married. Kept all my reef medications / food in it. Sadly, being metal, with the salty air in my basement (even with a heat exchanger), it rusted, and was tossed when I divorced / moved.
I was looking for something to store my stuff in, found a nice 4’ tall cabinet on the side of the road that will work, shelves are even tall enough for the big 32quart jars. Its ok, but I would love to re-do the room outside the grow area as a smoking room. Would be awesome to have a few jars on display, especially with the different colors / frostiness / nug types… Obviously for use! (can ya tell I just wanna display those purple nugs? like put them on a pedastal in front of the house with a spotlight, kinda display?)
Today was a good day at the mailbox too! Got my Kush’s from @Oldjoints and @Bobgrows at the same time! Go from having no kush, to having three varieties. LOVE the generousity here, and working diligently on returning the kindness in a few short months
Black Cream Auto crosses will be made… Mmmm yeah…
AND… Waiting on some Colombian Black now that I picked up from @northernblue . Kinda a nod to my heritage, pops was born and raised in Colombia. Definitely making some seeds. My research shows it to be a landrace, so that would also be my first landrace… ever… Will be really nice to have some sativa here for a change of pace, most of what I like leans indica, and the CB is 100% sativa
I think getting the mail is gonna be boring after the CB’s and @Sebring 's drop arrive. I will have my next few runs covered, and if my auto seed run goes ok, REALLY covered… So I wont be playing trivia for seeds… I’ll miss them surprises!! SO many things I wanna do, but only so much space! And as much as I enjoy trivia, I don’t need to add choices here, or take away from a newbie in need… ugh, no more trivia for a bit I guess. All good…
Updates! In the 3x4, one of the Tropicana Poison F2’s from @HaRdRoC 's server raffle looks like it wants to be an auto. According to my notes, they are just Fem, and its the only one in the photo tent flowering like this (matching the flowers in the auto tent coincidently). Still at 18/6 lighting, same age as the rest in the tent, none of the others showing near as many flowers, including the other TP F2.
Certainly have some freaky genetics going right now Love these oddballs!
And… Drumroll please…
It looks like we have some balls! Black Cream Auto, reversed with eliteXelite… And I hope he makes lots of pollen, because he has lots of lady friends to satisfy The Love Shack has been setup and empty, just waiting for this. Gonna leave him with the other autos for a little bit, why run the extra lights when I dont have to. My plan for my first pollen chuck (because, lets be honest, at this point, thats what I am doing, wish I could be selecting from a pool of donors, but its just not happening) is the following:
All Autos…
Black Cream (reversed) x Black Cream
Black Cream (reversed) x Dark Devil
Black Cream (reversed) x Northern Lights (freebie seed)
Black Cream (reversed) x Blueberry Herer (@Rabeats2093)
and maybe that Tropicana Poison F2, depending on what she continues to do.
3x4 currently. First photo run in, well, over 10 years… Other than the Spirit Train F2 pair, the rest are from the server raffle.
3x3 currently. Second auto run (ever). First auto run was just pulled, mix of unknowns from PSB, and blackberry and black cream from seedsman, and the 2 1/2 month seed to harvest is piquing my interest in making seeds… Hence this run. I will selectively pollinate, trying to leave buds for smoking but making plenty of seeds…
And just “in the room” I have these three ladies. GDP and Purple Haze from ILGM. Pretty sure they aren’t the same I remember, but they are growing nicely. White Widow freebie from Seedsman. The original plan was to make moms from these when I purchased them, but I may just flower em because the autos have really piqued my interest. I still have a few seeds of each left (other than the white widow from seedsman), so I can always re-plant…
Finally, the Alaskan Purple that came from seedsman is having issues, and I am beginning to wonder if its viral. Hasn’t affected any other plants (so far, and its been near a blueberry and a pineapple express II from seedsman for quite some time), but both mom and clones that have rooted and begun to grow are showing this in their leaves:
Mind you, its only on the Alaskan Purple, and clones from that plant. As you can see in the other pics, nobody else is nutrient deficient, so I am pretty much ruling out nutrients. I do Cal Mag both in watering, and via foliar sprays, the first run had issues, current run has not… Thoughts on the spotting???
Looking good looking good man !
Awesome to see that elitexelite did it’s job that’s one positive review
I love seeing that verigated that stout and healthy looking!!
Well I love seeing healthy plant in general but that one little lady has a special place in my heart
Haha wtf gotta get to work
Can you give some details? Probably they are buried above somewhere, apologies. Soil mix, pot size, watering schedule, what are you feeding at what PH, etc.
Lots of nice stuff you’ve got going on in there.
Sure… Soil is my own mix of local black dirt, compost, coco and peat (trying to get away from peat), sand and perlite. Blood and bone meal added to the mix. The mom is in my original mix (needed more perlite), clones are in updated mix.
Mom is in a 5G fabric pot, clones are in 1G fabric pots.
Water / fertilizer. Watering every few days, use a few sensors to help monitor soil moisture so I don’t overwater, pretty much fertilize every 3rd or 4th watering (more often than that and I would burn leaf tips). Ferts initially were the FoxFarm trio (Grow Big, Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom), at 1/2 recommended dose, eventually lowered to 1/4 recommended dose. Cal-Mag is also added to the watering (and is also applied with foliar sprays). pH is checked after mixing, and is adjusted to 6.2 - 6.4. Out of the tap, its 6.8 here. Air temps been climbing to the mid 80s with the dehumidifier on, but its usually high 70s. Humidity is right around 55% in the room.
Thanks! Its a labor of love obviously And the generousity of OG certainly helped a little!
