Ha Ha Ha…I know all too well about those accidents. When are you going to run the Aunt Ginny’s to make seeds? I’m just now starting to pollinate a big healthy HubbaBubbaMelloScope to make some S1 seeds. Could I interest you in a swap when yours are finished?

I’ve been wanting to try the newest medical 20:1 CBD / THC offering from Mephisto…I am not positive but pretty sure that ratio is from the Jacky CBD which when worked to how they wanted it was crossed with Walter White looking for more of a balanced CBD / THC ratio. I sent them an email asking what the cannabinoids are and was told they’re unsure currently. I like the Walter White and think crossed with pretty much a pure CBD if you will have many possibilities when reversing to make seeds. One plant might be higher THC then CBD, one could be 50/50, or one could be higher in CBD then THC. Might have to make seeds from several plants to find what you’re wanting.

Probably 5-6 weeks to go with this HubbaBubba.

She’s looking nice! You leave all those leaves through the grow?

I just this morning put some seeds direct into some rooter pods! Super excited to see those grow . Your plant looks awesome @LoveDaAutos !!!

Well the first 3 I put direct into the rooter pods, I thought, I’ll just leave them be and see what happens. I’ve come to the conclusion that rooter pods are best suited for cloning - the tap roots in the seedlings just don’t sem to be able to deal with it and push thru. This is just my experience, and after trying it this way for a couple years now and having zero net successes, I’m moving on to the jiffy pods. They’re not nearly as constraining as the rooter pods - but that structure is what’s needed for cloning. All this not to say it cannot be done - just apparently not at my house :joy::rofl::joy::rofl:

So - three more Aunt Ginny’s went into the shot glass the other day, and they’re all in jiffy pods now. We shall see how it goes - one was a twin mutant that shot the full seed pod plant (baby root and cotyldan(sp?) into the water, so I planted the “bare root” baby and also tossed the notablely smaller plant with the helmet still on in a pod as well. (but still had its tap root quite well and in tact yet).

Sour Crack - We’re at day 45 from suspected pollination. Lol - this plant looks crunchy - and boy is she. Still not looking fully pregger, but they’re there, and this seed crop should be prolific. Going to wait till she’s so dead that the seeds are about to pop out, probably another month. Seeds will be of excellent maturity all through the plant. I do see the potential (and likely scenario) of a staggered harvest, top down as to get all those beautiful seeds and not waste any. All those seeds in the picture came from that tiny bud that was the size of half of a literal US$ dime. Approximate location of cut noted, so nearer the top.

Bottom buds are still lime green so a ways to go. I see a trip into the living room in her future to finish out, probably today. Bring on the stinky. Best use though, no veggies really going atm, I’m just not into it again yet. Soon!

Ripley x SN not happy (top L) and BOH directly to (R), fed them early last night, BOH seems happier, RipxSN nop, she’s still wilty. I did pull some large fan leaves off of the RxSN, maybe she’s a hands off kinda lady. To date BOH has had zero defoliation. The SamxForum are crushing it (front 4 plants).

I tried transplanting autos a couple times mostly because of space constraints. I did not use any of the cubes I used a clear solo inside a red solo with holes in the bottom of both and filled with Fox Farm Happy Frog. It worked kind of okay but the roots weren’t prolific in the solo cup and the dirt fell apart when I up-potted the young plants. No noticeable damage but I’m sure it stunted them a bit.

Typically I just go straight from a paper towel into the final pot. The pot is filled with FFOF with a large handful of Happy Frog in the center where the seed is planted.

Thank you for that. I’ve read that autos aren’t particularly transplant friendly, and I like your description of your experience. This is my first attempt at growing autos, and I planted the first two seeds in Solo cups. I have two more auto seeds. I think I’ll will plant them directly into 1 gallon pots when they go into dirt later in the season.

I’ve had same issue though I found if you wait until needs to be watered the soil holds together better. Ive used rapid rooters with success but as soon as see roots straight into final pot. I have 3 running now that started in final pot seem happier just have to be careful with watering. Don’t want to smother the roots but still want to encourage grow to the edge of the pot after couple weeks you are usually safe as far as watering.

I don’t think I’m alone in recommending 3 gallon for autos. Outside they can get bigger, here’s one in a 3 gallon. During dry back she light enough to almost fall over

I’m thinking about trying a five gallon auto outside this summer

Are your autos grown from seed? Did you plant directly into soil after germinating? Hearing that you are considering planting into 5 gallon containers makes me think perhaps I should do the same, or at least a 3 gallon.

autos only come from seed. They’re clock is ticking, there’s no such thing as moms or clones.

I’ve gone from paper towel to 3 gallon for the last year or two, it’s a little weird watering until those roots spread enough for you to feel her drinking from deeper in the pot, but fucking around with their roots re/upotting can make their behavior even more baffling lol

Should have gone 5 gallon on this one. She’salways always hungry again at bedtime.

Better to have more soil than not enough imo

Sorry for posting on your thread from the lurker section, @Nefrella ! Haha, sorry about that

If going outside isn’t an issue I’d go 5gal i have to keep small so keep in smaller pots. I like @LoveDaAutos handful of happy frog idea. I put the seed in seedling soil in small jiffy pot so seed gets air and roots can spread quickly. Haven’t finished one this way yet but has a few cooking!

Try using the little Biodegradable Planting Pots - they work a treat for autos and no transplant.
I plant my seed directly in those little pots, push a whole through the bottom with a pencil, oce the roots start to show just place that pot in the final pot and it’s all done with no transplant

Lol exactly what I was talking about.

I use these but I just make a dime size hole in the bottom so there is nice transition for tap root then the rest of the roots will push through once pot has gotten wet a few times. The hole is probably overkill but what the hey.

Whew finally finished the thread! Great stuff @nefrella :raised_hands: Have you had a chance to sample the blackberry from Fastbuds? She looks gorgeous :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
