New grow. Mostly OGers gear

Not a chance. We were broke before covid. Our kids kids will be paying for us their whole life. We don’t have a strong economy. But our media is a lot less divisive than yours. Our people more apathetic and likely to follow orders. But I digress. I try and keep my thoughts on this stuff off the internet. All I know is I love my burger neighbors to the south like brothers.

I work up in the oilsands. We are fairly union strong. Not like the old days. A lot of contractors working at union sites and piecing off the union. Still strong enough to shut her down. Last cba company tried to play ball hardball. We took no money last cba to try and save jobs. They laid off anyway. This time we said $$inflation for last 6 years. The said muh economy. We said,we never got extra when economy was booming$. They said no. We had a strike vote. Mid 80s results. Deal was done in 2 weeks.

I’m pretty sure a lot of our areas strength in the union revolves on a lot of “traditional” union practices still happening wasn’t but like a decade ago our locals president was caught up in labor racketeering did a little time now has second biggest concrete company in the state…right behind his brothers company :joy::rofl::joy::rofl: but they keep the work flowing

Thats was my first reveg to flower ever. That whole run was seeded. The banana orange daiquri hermed and ruined my whole tent a few months back. But my bird loved all the seeds she got out of it. Would of been a lot of crazy crosses if youre into distributing hermie produced seed. I was not. I’ve been smoking seeded bud for what seems like forever. Gave like 2 zips away to an old friend the other day. He wouldn’t take more. He figured thats a 4 month supply.

Okay no more updates for a week. Here’s a shot of black river og and I think a wedding cake and a bcg. In 7 days I’ll post same photo. Hope they like the 1 gallons for the next week or so.

That tent is looking great! Still under the QBs right? Those Black Rivers are looking really good, nice and pointy

Yeah when started from seed under lights. Lights turned down to 50 percent and like 3 to 4 feet away. They drinking water so ill turn it up a hsir when I get back. The other tent has a 550 too but I put a 315 cmh in there today as well. Leds are a different style of growing imo. Well the qbs are. Just had to learn off members like u and @ReikoX

Nice! Knew you’d get it figured out

Excited to see those grown out, you’re making me wish I kept them

Those CMH’s sound real interesting, been debating but the potential heat issues have kept me away so far.

I added one for the radiant heat aspect too… The pots always feel a little cooler under led even if temps similar. Plus they r in a basement. Tents are insulated from floor with a layer of two 1 inch insulating boards. Then a layer of rubber. Still plsnts sit on upside down smaller coasters inside other larger plant coasters if they are on ground.

Yeah the LED’s lack the IR spectrum you’d get from the CMH or HPS bulbs, so have to run the room at upper 70’s/low 80’s for best growth under leds.

All good to know though, definitely some good ideas there  DWC.

You guys talking cmh/led caught me eye.

Here’s my deal.
I’ve been running cmh in the past. Now planning to add led to the mix, but not sure how many watts of strips is appropriate.

Grow Space. 4x5x8height. Feet. (actually 44" wide - not 48")

Past grows. Used a pair of 315w. 630watts. And at times I would extend and supplement with some vero cobs. (Excessive at times. Lol)

Planning to use a single vertical 315w in the center, surrounded by 2ft EB Gen 3 strips. How many watts??
Thanks for any insight or suggestions.

I’m already building four 11"x24" panels. Each will have 5 eb gen3 strips. But thats just a side project for fun. I may or may not use them with cmh.

@GramTorino
For the strips and any other quality leds, especially one’s that use the LM301 diodes or better, usually the recommended is ~30w per square foot in order to properly light it. Will likely use it at a bit less than that, but always nice to have a bit more wattage available if you do need it.

As for how that equates to how many strips you need… thats a good question.
I looked here to build mine.

If you have a 4x5 floor space, that’s 20 sq.ft… times 30w equals 600 watts. you have 300w or so going to that CMH leaving another 300w you need to fill with leds.

Cool.
I’m in the process of measuring and figuring out the physical arrangement for these test panels (about 260w total)…need to revisit my numbers.
About $300 us diy.
