Tootsie rolls are actually just a variety of chocolate caramel. They add something extra to it that gives it that grainy look as you bite it though 
It could be more like taffy thinking of it, so melting it down might be problematic and I think you’d like taking caramel and Cocoa powder with a little marshmallow Fluff. Brand name fluff only. Don’t ever get jet puffed. It tastes like aluminum

I found a Tootsie roll recipe to try. You melt them down in a slow cooker, add hash oil (I assume I could use green dragon instead) and tablespoon of condensed milk so that it will set properly. Here’s the recipe

That’s what I had been debating on trying to use, though I want to keep it at the caramel syrup consistency, not sure how much that would affect it. Was gifted a bunch of trim so might try a few different methods to see what works best.
So fresh herb goes in the freezer first too? Or right in the ethanol that has been in the freezer? Sorry, have not had coffee yet. 
The way I do it involves 2 jars and both in the freezer until the bud is frozen and my IR thermometer says it’s at 0f and the jar of ethanol was also at 0f. When combined it became 20-30f. I let it sit for a bit to soak in the bud properly and I believe I had done a 3 days soak in the freezer.
You can also toss it right in, but more chlorophyll will need to be winterized out afterwards.
If it does not lose anything I’d freeze the fresh herb first. I suspect freezing it first means some kind of degradation though. (If that is better or worse than just throwing it in -18°C ethanol is a different story 
)
If the ethanol is already -18c you should be good to add in as is. If it gets too dark for your liking you can winterize it after straining and remove more chlorophyll from the solution.
There will be degradation, but not enough to make a noticable difference if you keep it away from sunlight and heat. It’ll be less degraded than bud that’s been dried for 1-2 weeks hanging most likely as it’s fresh material vs dried enzymatically degraded material
Thanks a lot. I think I’ll give it a try and throw fresh herb directly from the plant into freezer ethanol. It’s what I wanted to try last time but I could not get the ethanol in time for harvest. I keep it in the freezer anyway now, it’s not like I’m gonna drink a lot of it. 
We’ll see in three weeks. I’ll report back how it went.

That’s about what she was like and I’d like to get another phenotype like that again. Vanilla and tangerines peppery finish though, so if you smoke it unprepared it’ll be aggressive on your throat
Did you use the freezer method like described in this thread? It really helps minimize the bad taste IMO.
I did not. Given how gross it is I will definitely use the mentioned method. It tastes like gasoline mixed with fresh cut grass.
Alright they have Everclear 15bux a fifth or double for the litre I guess. I stopped drinking 10 years ago. I have some seeded pot. Sould be cleaned out before going further? I know I used this pic before. Im afraid ill fuck it up in the bubble. Water hash is delicious.
So I just wanna be able to ingest cannabis. It helps my back and inflammation. My Dr. made me quit smoking. So im at 1 a day. Its hard to smoke a ton of flower to try to ease my pain. So she said either a concentrate hit or edibles. Ive yet to get some of Sebrings cream. We have transdermals here. Never tried them. Now that I have good genetics. Id like to experiment.

Sounds about the right price, make sure it’s the 180 proof stuff. You dont have to remove the seeds, but it will probably taste better if you do.
I made the tootsie roll / chebba chews recipe yesterday using the green dragon and it came out excellent! alchol boiled off quickly and after sucking on the chew I could feel the effects almost within a few minutes.
I have been thinking. This is a most excellent tread and full of awesome info but it is getting so long and not easy to browse. What do you all think of adding a recipe category or even a post with a wiki page up top that would be easy to browse and find recipes? I am sure there are plenty of treasures in here that I’ve read, and forgotten about but I don’t know how often I could re-read almost 700 posts
Citric Acid Extraction
This is a quick and simple extraction method that can be done without using any heat. You can use any kind of hash, I think dry ice hash would be perfect for this technique. The acid activates the THC instead of heat. The resulting mixture can be added to mixed drinks, marinades, or sweets.
Ingredients

[li]2 teaspoons citric acid[/li]
[li]2 teaspoons 95% ethanol[/li][/ul]
Citric acid extraction ingredients
Directions
[ol][li]Mix hash and citric acid in a small jar[/li]
[li]Add ethanol and mix thoroughly[/li]
[li]Wait 24 hours and use as desired[/li][/ol]
Mix dry ingredients
Add ethanol
