My tent full of Hippies. Smaller plants were flipped early and are growing in half gallon sleeves over the octopups. Big plant on 3 gallon sleeve was vegged almost a month longer.

Scrawny here is in the process of reversing.

Still, growing the others in half gallon is quite encouraging. The method works with a small sleeve.

Guess it’s time for me to give octopots a go. The glowing reviews from almost everyone who’s tried them and the promise of allowing me to leave my plants unattended for several days, even in flower, sold me.

My UPS driver just left a box of them in my garage. My tent should be clear in another couple weeks, so they’ll be tested soon.

I too have just ordered several of these setups. Thanks a ton for the tip on this one.

I travel often for work and always have shit at different stages. This certainly beats my super low tech method of simply flooding my trays (under bed Rubbermaid tote in a 2x4) and after I return, letting them dry up before watering anymore.

You’re going to love them best system money can buy !
Easy to use ,
no moving parts,
set it and forget it
Once plant established it can be filled and left alone for like 7 days
Increased yield

Only thing I’d have preferred is if there was a smaller bag size to select. I like running no larger than 3 gal bags to prevent plants from overrunning my tent. But I’ve gathered that bag/medium height is part of the equation, so it seems there’s a limitation to how small the bag volume can get based on the required height.

Manufacture recommends a minimum of 13 niches of soil to affectively achieve the proper levels of moisture in the different zones .
I fold mine back ( don’t cut them )

Yeah finding a 3 gal bag that would be tall enough is part of the challenge. It would need to be like twice as tall as it is wide.

I can’t help but feel like I’m restricting myself to how many plants I can grow using 6gal bags, but the reality is that if I go over 5 plants in 3 gal pots in my 5x5 it’s a challenge anyway. And every time I finish flowering I always swear I won’t do more than 5 (ideally not more than 4) again. :joy:

Just use the 3 gallon base only 12x12 inches
Still uses big bag

In a 5 x 5 tent 4 big Octopots is perfect

Remember you will increase yield so you don’t need to run a lot of plants

If you trim and prune as well as do some lst training you will be surprised on how much you’ll yield

I would run 9 plants in 3 gallon bags and would never yield as much as 4 plants in Octopots

I went from 2 oz to 1/2 lb per plant

Less work more yield
Win win
