And it’s here!
That’s real nice I like that a lot! I have broken a few of those glass ones but I’d try again, I just cleaned out my titanium Gandalf
That’s really awesome looking! I’ve got a big spoon that has similar colors in it, very cool!
Fresh glass today, a big simple 6” spoon with some surface work, nice and cheap but with a bigass bowl from David James Glass on IG:
Hell yea, that’s awesome, I miss his inside out work he was doing but the aquarium stuff is pretty awesome
I’m sure he’ll circle back to inside out stuff, I think this is him doing a bunch of new production batches and trying out new designs. I sadly busted the cobalt blue spoon I had from him, so it was time for a replacement second bowl
Took my David James under da sea big spoon on vacation to Portsmouth, NH this weekend for the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival, here it is in its natural habitat:
The guy I’ve been getting my pipes from in RVA has a pair for sale right now, somebody jump on them if you’re interested! I’m too busted to be buying more glass right now. No idea on price but I’m pretty sure it’ll be like $30-50 each or less for both based on my past purchases, doesn’t hurt to ask!
@LegsMahoney here’s that inside out back again
Oh nice, didn’t realize he was local to me!
Nice! RVA is on my list of places to get to eventually in the near south, I have a lot of bike friends there because of the courier/food delivery/pedicab/racing community. Seems like a really cool city/area
Hit me up when you make it down, I may actually know a few of your buddies
I saw that he was getting back into the inside out work! Super awesome, I dig the underwater stuff too but the inside out work really gets me
Apologies for the heresy here but we all need a little indestructible pocket banger for $7.50-$20 made in the USA right?
I’ve been vaguely kind of secretly wanting one of those ever since I found them searching for an oversized ti dugout. They seem like awesome folks too
I found one of these glass/metal ones at a b&m that I’m loving so far:
def still want the wizard pipe too though lol@breadwinner That’s nice! I like that pinch to hold it, haven’t tried any of the metal over glass style but they look awesome for my kind of use! I have four titanium pipes from Dangle Supply and Quiver Fabrications but they’re much more expensive for this style, the Dangle Ti Cobb costs about three times as much as this one on sale does. I only have chillums x3 and the Witch Stix which is a one piece Gandalf style but it’s so hard to keep clean, I want a shorter one with a straight stem
They’re legends, throw some awesome parties and are very cool to visit, it’s on my list for whenever I get to NorCal again and get outside the SFBay
Man I’ve been eyeballing the dangle stuff for snowboarding and biking, like these prices way better though, thanks for sharing @Dirt_Wizard
Been using one of these in my favorite glass bowl for the last six months and I can say I really recommend this little dude, as expensive as they seem the one I have is good as new thousands of bowls later, check these out! I need to get some more for my other pipes so they’re not as neglected, never been a mesh filter fan but I used to use glass jacks those were nice but this doesn’t fall out when it helps you kick the bowl the way the jacks do:
“How can i tell if a Smojo will fit my pipe before i buy it?
The 2 things to check are the size of the hole and the clearance beneath the hole. If you have a set of drill bits, if the 1/8" drill bit slides through the hole at the bottom of your pipe to a depth of 3/8", Smojo should fit. If the 1/8" drill bit will not slide through the hole there is little hope that Smojo will fit. Another test is to take several paperclips (normal not jumbo size) , straighten them out, and see how many can fit in through the hole at the same time, 4 is marginal, 5 or more and Smojo should fit.”
Whoa, I’ve never seen a screen like that before, very cool!
Been a while since I’ve added anything to the collection but today I got a new piece in the mail from ogchongglass.com. A pretty nice little fumed inside out spoon with the new Chong Millie that they’re using for all this new post-op work. Not a proper pre op, but the closest I’ll get to owning one given how rare and expensive they are, so I ain’t mad like some others are online about the new reproduction that they’re releasing. Will try to get the lightbox out and take some photos to share soon. The glass addiction continues…
Im a fan of large heady pieces and saw an interview from Archive where they were talking with ORGNKID and had a couple of large heady sidecars and was interested in finding out who the artists was. Anyone have any idea?
