I have aged my balls in the fridge in the past but I feel like they started to sweat when you take em out, so from now on I’m thinking of just let my balls age/dry at room temp

Well I just went to press and it looks like what I’ve got is a shit load of kif. Probably from it being older material, but either way it won’t come together under heat, so it bowl toppers or maybe some infused oil/syrup. Point one for the ice water hash

Go with something that has onboard, configurable focal stacking. A few different manufacturers have it, including the one you have lots of gear from, I think. It will improve your pics and make your life a lot easier.

Alright so I’ve had the opportunity to smoke on the #1 and the #2 phenos of the old smuggler and I want to just basically jot my thoughts here, I’ll recycle the same nug shots I put up earlier as reference, someone let me know if I fuck up and post the wrong one
OS #1
Real astringent berry smells, no major flavor on the smoke, not unpleasant tasting though. Very smooth smoking and burns to a pretty white ash. Effects wise this one isn’t clicking with me so far. It’s a little bit of a creeper and it has this effect I’ve been noticing on some varieties of like dropping my blood pressure I think. A while after smoking I’ll suddenly feel a little cold. I’ll throw a blanket over myself and have to stay like that for a while until this sensation eventually melts away to what I can only describe as a “whatever” kind of high for the duration. Just overall not an immediately pleasurable experience, so I’m gonna let it hang in the jar for a while longer and see if anything changes but early opinion is this one won’t be sticking around
OS#2
Predominant loamy/earthy smell with a hint of berries in the background, like way back, by the fire exit . Again no real noticeable flavor on the smoke, it’s smooth, not unpleasant but no real flavor to speak of beyond just the smells of the buds in your nose really. Effects wise this one is way different than the #1. While that one sent me looking for a blanket the #2 actually feels like a nice warm blanket itself. It s a little bit of a creeper, with no major rush or onset sensation, basically just put the bowl down and about 10-15 minutes later you realize you’re feeling pretty good. I actually really kinda dig this onset sensation, and it settles into that nice warm blanket effect: warm, happy, a little sleepy, really pleasant experience through and through.
Between these I much prefer the #2, still have the #3 to sample. I’ve been trying to crack a jar and sit with it as my only smoke for a couple days in a row to make sure I have a pretty good feel for the pheno, so I’ll probably give myself another day or so and then move on to the #3 and I’ll post here again when I do. Bummer about the lack of flavor. I blazed some of the Imperial Majesty for the first time in probably a month a couple nights ago and was just like,”Holy. Fucking. Shit. This tastes sooooooo gooooooood…” haha. Way better than it tasted the last time I blazed it (and it tasted pretty gawddamn good right from the get-go), so maybe if you keep that OS in jars for a little bit, it’ll develop some appreciable flavors haha.

It’s crazy how odors come out after a long cure. I have some stuff I bagged up a year ago and I hated it. Now I still think it’s pretty weak, but it smokes good, somewhere after nine months it got denser and cheesy, out of being hempy before that. It’s so weird, but it’s also the oldest genetics I think I’ve grown. Still, I haven’t found one yet that tastes better fresh than in a few months, even if some strains peak there vs improving more.

Man, I’m not sure where I rank this in terms of tedium alongside shucking seeds and trimming, but sanitizing pots SUCKS!! With the new seeds popping came the need for clean pots. Made a dent in the seedling sizes:
