Old Smuggler (x3) and Good Medicine

Right on @LegsMahoney , looks like your set up for a great harvest in a few months! And I’ll like fast rooting cultivars too! Continued success!:v:

Looks like perfect environment for those cuttings! What is that rooting system you’re using? Is that coir or peat or what?

On closer inspection they look like peat pellets.

Hey @GREANDAL theyre the root riot plugs which are just compressed peat

@Budderton thank you bud! Hopefully the other traits are on point too, the guy who gifted me the seeds said that they have some awesome burnt rubber terps to em, pretty excited to see

Walked in on the girls saying thier prayers this morning. Everyone got a good watering with recharge yesterday and seems to be pretty happy for the time being. This was the first time I upped the volume of water, pushing more towards that 10% mark. They got about a gallon and a half split between the four of them as opposed to the gallon they had been getting beforehand as they established in the new pots and I weaned them off the slightly overwatered soil at transplant. So far they seem to be handling it fine, once they drink this up I’ll likely give them a full 2 gallons which would amount to a half gallon a piece which is 10% of the volume of thier 5 gal pots. I use the 1/2gal per minute nozzle on the chapin sprayer and count out 15 second intervals for each plant, go around the tent twice and the. Give them like a 5-10 minute break to absorb what they got, repeat that process until the sprayer is empty. So far so good!

I’m really happy with how this gal bushed out after receiving the bonsai mum treatment for an extended period in the veg tent. Might utilize this method of vegging cuts longer and performing the topping/training for a while before sending into flower. Stoked to see her happy, #5 is my side piece these days, might have to give her a nickname I love her so much.

OS1:

Still my favorite structure wise, no smell to her yet but I’ve got high hopes

OS2:

A little bit of a wild child with those two main branches standing head and shoulders above the rest, seems happy environment wise though so I ain’t mad, maybe could’ve benefitted from more training, but live and learn.

OS3:

Pretty unruly overall. She’s got the most apical dominance going with that one main branch in the back trying to reach for the ceiling. This is the indicator plant in the tent, first to show coloration changes if things are off, first to start dropping her leaves if the watering is off, the most finicky sister in the group thus far. We’ll see if she makes up for it at any time during the run.

That’s it for this Saturday. Off to do battle with the lawn. Love! Always love!:heart::v:t2::call_me_hand:t2:

Also on the docket for Saturday, some red sauce from the San marzanos I grew in the EB this year:

All the other veggies came from the garden as well, love that feeling.

Hey @BeagleZ were having some friends over tomorrow and smoking a couple racks of beef ribs, any pro tips I should keep in mind?

Short ribs(I wouldn’t bother with anything but)? Get the whole rack for sure. There is plenty of fat in them so you can trim them up nice. Treat em like a brisket, they will firm up but eventually give in and be butter. The longer the rest the better.
And TONS of fresh ground pepper for my taste. My short ribs I like straight up Texas style. Salt and pepper .

That red gravy looks killer. I know you got some bread to dip in there!!

Have a great Saturday homie!

How’d yer ribs turn out?

They were great dude! They actually turned out to be back ribs, so not as much meat on em as the short ribs, but I dry rubbed em and smoked em for like 6-7 hours at 225 and they were delicious, big hit with the dinner guests, I feel like you almost can’t miss with that smoker as long as you don’t way overdo it

Nice man, glad they turned out. Didn’t mean to put any discouragement on ya. I just like short ribs for that reason, the time investment to meat ratio just seems unbalanced to me lol

Gals were ready for a drink today, so I took the opportunity to do a little house cleaning. I did some light defoliation on all the plants to ipe. Things up a little bit and get some light on the lowers, then pulled everyone out to vacuum out the tent. Took the opportunity to have a little photo shoot sesh with each of the gals individually:

OS1:

Still my favorite so far, structure wise she’s very balanced and very sturdy. Compared to her two sisters she’s got very thick stems and a nice even canopy, with the exception of some yellow tips she seems pretty content in her environment.

OS2:

She’s got similarly thick stems like the #1, but her top is a little more unbalanced, obviously she has a harder time giving up on growing with one main cola, giving her this lopsided look.

OS3:

Not real sure how to feel about this one, she’s showing the most bud sites out of the three and the tightest node spacing so I’m thinking this one might be the best yielded in the final analysis, but her wispy little stems and uneven canopy leave a little to be desired. Reserving judgement until she really shows me what’s up later in flower, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see my reviews turned on thier head and this one being the winner of the group, just maybe requiring a bit more training.

GM5:

What can I say about my girl here right? Much happier this round so far than she was last go around, I just love her :heart::heart:

As you guys can also see I went ahead and deal with the eye poker hazard :joy: these big brown eyes are safe for another round. I’m really hopeful that we’re nearing the end of the stretch here, OS1 and 3 are getting real close to the light, and do not really take well to bending/pinching so I’ve got my fingers crossed that they start focusing on bull here shortly as opposed to height. Regardless, we roll onward. Be well out there my friends :v:t2::heart::call_me_hand:t2:

Oh dude don’t sweat it, you made me realize I never even asked what cut they were, this place only deals with what they raise and slaughter themselves so it can be hit or miss with what they have in stock, now I’ll know for next time to ask for the short rib, I’m just slowly making my way around the cow :joy::joy::joy:

Nice tidy little grow ya got going on here! I’m very interested to see this strain grown out. For one reason, when I first starting getting back into cannabis and decided to start growing for myself, MMS was one of the first breeders I started following. Basically listened to the Pot Cast and starting levitating towards breeders who I felt a connection with… Duke Diamond, CSI, Bodhi, MMS, etc etc… Anyway I was following closely when all that shit hit the fan about Star Pupil and the finger boarding thing. Lots of mixed emotions about it but mainly I had to see for myself how his strains are so thats why I added it to my outdoor line up this year. So far it’s a really impressive plant in terms of structure, colour, morphology, smells and then pest/mildew resistance but it will all ultimately come down to the smoke report. Anyway, Old Sumggler sounds like a killer strain. Read a lot about that Swabi and it looks really cool in flower, should be a cool match with The One. Best of luck with the rest of it!

Thanks brother, “let the plants do the talking” is the motto I’m taking with this, so far I’m digging’ it!

Just hanging out today, probably water tomorrow, was debating giving fish hydrolysate but I’ll probably just give em straight up water.

They are looking great dude, I might would just LITFA.
You ever make any FAA with all that fish up there?

I concur, big dose of LITFA. Never tried the FAA, can you make that from hydrolysate? Thought about keeping some trout or bass to give it a shot but just never got around to it
