trucking along buddy! we’r at day 11 today and things are just starting to get some crisp to em, no snappy stems yet though, so im hoping i hit the 14 day mark right on the head. i was out of town for the first like 4 or so days of the dry and the temps were up in like the 64-65 average. that being the case, slightly higher than ideal, i dropped the RH to around like 58% from 60% when i got home, i didnt want things warm and humid together, so far i think its going well. monitoring everyday for trim time. when i pull em down ill start with some photo updates and whatnot. smells right now are a little tough to distinguish but its very weedy for sure. i pick up the GM fruit pretty easily when i crack the tent, but from the top of the basement stairs i pick up on more of the skunky, burnt rubber smells. im hoping that everything really comes around when they hit the jars,

Dude, the forces of dad joke-ism are strong within me. At the checkout line in the hardware store there’s a dude in full camo next to me, I had to fight with every fiber of my being not to lean over to him and say “Almost didn’t see you there bud” :joy::joy::joy:

That’s funny, I had a friend that used to only wear camo shorts and every time we met up I’d pretend I didn’t see him for like 5-10 minutes :joy:

His excuse was,”they never get dirty”!

Was getting some stem snap on the really small stems in the GM today so I cut off a couple branches to test trim and determined it’s still to wet, threw a hygrometer into the jar with the nugs I did trim up though and the RH so far has been at like 53% so it’s possible this batch might just be extra gooey, gonna check stems again tomorrow which is the 14th y mark. Old smugglers still need some time, nice slow dry this go round, Ben with not 100% dialed environment

I’m a Star Trek fan and I think it works pretty good so here we go:

A weed strain named Dr. Crusher

Even better if it has red hairs on the buds.

And when you think about it, isn’t a hybrid “The Next Generation”?

That’s the photo for the label.

Oh man, that’s a good one too and one I definitely wouldn’t have though of

Take a look at this thread from 2010, it’s got H&L posting in it and lots of photos of the original seed release getting grown:

Thank you for sharing dude! I’ve been keeping an ear to the ground for H&L’s re-release of the appy seeds, after seeing what the good medicine has it make me curious about the parents for sure

O ya here’s a little drama from back in the day with the Appalachia cut that I found reading around:

Yea man, Eric from dungeons vault talks about that whole thing on his potcast episode, someone lifted it from bodhi and gave it to GDP collective he said

So I made the call to trim up the Good Medicine this afternoon. I was getting stem snap on the smaller stems and despite the buds still feeling pretty wet and gooey, the test trim jar was actually holding at 53% interior humidity (I double checked the little hygrometer but moving it into the dry tent, and it is working) and since the rest of my headstash of the GM5 is out right now and I want it to be at its best, I decided to trim it up and jar it and just let it chill while I’m out of town. The Old Smugglers are all still pretty rubbery in even the smallest stems, so I’m contemplating letting them go in the dry tent over the next four days I’m away. I could be potentially letting them go too long and get too dry, but I’m considering bumping the humidity up a bit during that time to make sure they keep at a slow pace. Feeling like I’ll check them again tonight after the kid goes to bed to see what’s up. Here’s a few shots of a mug of the GM5. All the fruity, gooey terps are raging! Even held the jar up to my old lady’s nose and confirmed that it smelled like a jar of Hawaiian Punch, so stoked to have a full jar of this on deck again

Pretty buds! Looking forward to flowering my GMs out! Did you find the smell transfers well to flavor?

Yes, although it does burn off quickly. Not to an unpleasant taste or anything, but the first green hits for sure taste as they smell, once the bowl is well roasted it just tastes like burning weed, but I tend to pack smaller bowls and smoke more of em as opposed to packing big gnarly ones and chiefing on em, so it works for my style. Good for bong snaps too

Nice - yeah Im the same with small bowl packs. Only strains Ive found to carry the flavor through a whole big bowl have had deep pine flavors - OGs and such.
