Hello everyone,
Just wanted to update. I’m sick right now so I’ll be pretty off it for a couple days. I ended up deciding to make 20 packs of the sour diesel seeds (All breeders & Keepers only/ none of the culled stock seeds will be used). I opened trades for these 20 already (not all messages sent or replied to but they are reserved) and have sectioned the rest for progressing line to next generation after I have preserved all my time sensitive or older stock. If any of them fall through I’m going to send those to two members I seen donate a lot around here so they can circulate them as well. I didn’t open anything with anyone I’m not comfortable sending w/o tracking so that’s a plus. I want to donate a much larger batch due to the price point of these packs it’d be nice for those who couldn’t afford them but I can’t get stuck on any project part too long.
16/44 plants provided seed so I was only able to recover 36.4%~ of usable stock from one 5x5 tent.
I am popping some of the TD6xMSD & K5xMSD to test along the current run (females only). I am going to pop several degrees of maturity from each to see if it can be relevant to identifying different donors especially due not initially providing much circulation and the amount of time new stigma growth was ready to be pollinated in almost biweekly intervals for 3 cycles before removing males (10-12 days is probably safer).
I also popped thug pug-PB skunk x1, G13- Raw Diesel x1.
Day 8 of Reveg:
Only significant changing is you can see the buds begin to stretch upward and grow white hairs again.
Almost done cleaning seeds, everything has been shucked. Just needs to be counted, separated and ensure not cannabis material is lingering. My 20 packs should contain 200~ each so 4000 seeds.
Sour Diesel Project
Testing:
(Karma’s Sowahh #5 x MSD) and (Top Dawg’s Sour Diesel BX4 x MSD) testing multiple levels of seed maturity. Germinated into tap on 4.13.24.
In the end I was rather lenient on my calling breeders and keepers to ensure I had a broad profile spectrum several carry positive traits but none the less these two deserve their spots.
Bonding/Inosculation:
During my last grow from what I can tell there was no actual bonding at the stem yet. A few notes; I did not tightly bond or attend any training to attempt to force this reaction. I’m going to attempt a more thorough method with some Skunk #1 from AG. Not expecting to find any skunk in these they are just expendable stock. Personally not a fan of AG.
Mother Maintenance:
With root pruning and soiless media I only progress a clones generation if the plant is becoming dangerously woody and silica is not remedying it. In those cases I take my new clones for mother replacement from the center because this area contains the least somatic mutations which essentially can change the expression of a clone over time. With proper pruning and bonsai methods keeping a mother like my GG4 in that state north of a year can be quite simple this way. Low light levels slowing photosynthesis as well but just enough to not cause any low light stress.
Midtown Madness B was from a pack only given out as a freebie from what I understand.
@beebud@rasterman always welcome information. Personally where I’m at now is wondering if there would be any actual bonding at the epidermis without a prolonged veg time. I know inosculation in nature happens when placed under non movable force over long periods so I will have to apply artificially in an area of allowable expansion. As far as multiplanting or if there is any bonding at the rootzone I do not know. Likely need lab equipment for gendtic exchange studies.
I’m thinking now I will allow the to stretch then feed all of the plants through 1” pvc 2” long set at base of soil, pvc so I can remove it if I need to and it should be strong enough if I use thick wall type.
@leetdood Not the best picture but the only one I have of it in its breeder pack.
Got the approval to expand today!
I will begin new build very soon but at least I don’t have to worry about count so much again.
MSD x Testers~
Didn’t label and mixed up paper towels. I just used A & B for now but they are Karma #5 & Top Dawg #6 x MSD, I will remove all males this is only a small test run. I am going to germinate several Midtown Madness x MSD for a Midtown Madness BC1 using several males in a mixed pollen setup separately. She just began visibly revegging and I was beginning to worry.
5/5 A & 3/5 B
Stonefarm Sour Diesel IBL Progress~
I hope these are good. I’m worried about intersex issues. I have only seen one other person with them (A discord Mod). It would be a shame if there was nothing worth keeping or working but I will still preserve them. By not allowing an other males to be present this run. I received from a member on a different forum. As far as I know Stoney only distributed these during his active forum time. Since IcMag has removed a lot I cannot find much so all I have to reference is old Rez logs.
Reveg Progress~
Every urge is to start removing the old mass but I wanted to leave as much as possible for a buffer. Now that things are beginning to look good I will clean everything up.
General Update:
I will be packaging Sour seeds with plant work and hash/rosin processing this weekend and have them done, I have been busy. I will be getting to all messages as well so by Monday everything will be done.
Happy late 4/20
Getting there. I finished processing hash and a lot of other stuff already. I’ll have a full tent update soon. Each pack contains 250~ Seeds.
Will no longer do post for trade or donation. Keep it in the messages for the foreseeable future. Stonefarm will go out to these 20 still. If you’d like to trade just shoot me a message. 1 at a time seems easier. I’m setting some aside for a few contributing members if they’d like them. I don’t plan on making many more of these that won’t be vaulted for long term storage.
I sent the first 10/20 packs of the sour diesel seeds and the last 10 are going out Mon-Fri. I will not be making anymore for trade of the first generation only for my vault (I never want to buy diesel seeds again). I will be making a bonded plant of each breeder and discarding piffcoast due to intersex on Reveg. Its a high stress situation, but a trait I personally would like to avoid.
Keepers;
Midtown Madness B (MMB)
Top Dawg Sour Diesel BX4 #6 (TDSD6)
Karma Sowahh #5 (KS5)
Cuts:
Gorilla Glue #4 Josey (GG4)
Dropped a few seeds but will be nowhere near this by the end, (Midtown Madness B x Mystery Sour Diesel) doing this for a few reasons:
To test the consistency the tennis ball terp profile passes to progeny
To hunt for a Keeper 12/12 from seed to reveg.
To practice early culling techniques.
To hunt studs for Midtown BC1.
Will be done in one -5x5 tent w/1000w HPS & 1 gallon pots. I expect 10-15 females to make it to final and the same number of males for collecting mixed pollen. Germinated about 300.
Germinated another x12 TD Sour Diesel BX4 x Mystery Sour Diesel. I really like the skunk like nature of this plant and oldschool bract structure. I assume 13/14 weeks will allow for a full expression with her as well and was already exceptional at 12 seeded. My overall winner(personal preference)but the Sowahh is more classic reference.
I got the idea from Tree Shaping (Pooktre & Niwaki). A more artistic version of pleaching. Both are forms of inosculation but more art/method based. That or it’s going to end up like a money tree.
My next build is a multi tent shed build with an auto drain and water setup. I haven’t 100% decided to give them to a friend yet. I do have several other projects and I am very busy at work.
These just landed and I plan to reproduce them and see if they get voted through the Co-op after I finish the Stonefarm. Thank you @leetdood
I’m impressed with your grow! I use 5 gallon buckets also. A single grow bucket is a combination of 2 five gallon buckets that create self watering buckets. I then water from the bottom and the plants love it.
I use this approach because I am not set up to flood the buckets and let them drip like you do. I just make certain the bottom bucket is full and when the plants are thirsty they drink. Please note that I can’t check my plants daily so this works best for me.
I occasionally “let it rain” and water from the top, often with fertilizer. This approach has reduced gnats and other crap that likes to grow beneath plants on top of the soil.
Take this with a grain of salt. I am getting back into growing after 20 years and everything seems new.
Mine is a highly modified version of the link below.
