I think that the recommended formula is for soil or something. Definitely not enough in coco. These sativas are ridiculously sensitive to nitrogen, and even the lower amounts you get from Master Blend compared to Jacks/Peters is still not low enough.
I’ve been using:
25g Master Blend
24g Calcium Nitrate
23g Epsom
I think I would go even higher for the Epsom, based on what I’ve seen so far.
To try and nip this Nitrogen issue, I think I’m going with:
10g Master Blend
23g Calcium Nitrate
30g Epsom
8g Potassium Sulfate
5g MKP
5g TM7
Basically taking out N from the Master Blend and putting P, K and trace back using potassium sulfate, monopotassium phos and TM7. That’ll get me down to 96PPM NO3 + 8PPM NH4. And if that doesn’t do it, I’ll be taking the MB out completely.

Those girls are dark for sure.
Sorry if I missed it.
What ph and ec have you been feeding? Feed freq? Ty
My feed ph averages around 6.1
5.8 thru 6.3. Ec avg. around 1.6.

Been keeping it pretty tight right now and checking daily. Keeping it at 6.0-6.1 and 6x feeds at 1.4-1.5ec.

This is my caveman way of figuring out rough ratios. Lol

Here I’m playing around, and cheating with the calimagic to get the Ca up.

What do they use to get such high Ca/Mg to nitrogen ratio? Is it carbonate?
I just refilled my res today with the mix posted above. Hopefully it fixes the problem. I’m worried if I let these N levels linger on too much longer it’ll turn tox…
TM-7. Would 1/2 gram per gallon be about right for micros?
This is a base free - calimagic carbonate free version.

I think 1/2g would be enough probably, but you could go as high as 1g/gal probably. I used 5g along with 10g master blend (compared to 0g/25g normal). Makes about 12-13gal when i dilute to 1.5ec.

TALL PHENOS
SHORT PHENOS
Big decisions being made today. I’m culling ALL of the tall phenos. While I think they might produce some great stuff, I can’t ignore how amazing the short ones are to grow indoors.
If anyone has grown Ace’s Malawi/Panama, they probably recognize that the short stature and branchy structure is really special and nice to deal with. I’ve decided that although it might be easier to find the hazey phenos in the taller varieties, I want NMP to really embrace the short stature with this one.
There’s certainly multiple phenos going on here… more than 2 even. I think the tallest of the short girls is going to turn out some haze smells. If not, I’m still fairly certain that the male I’m using is a haze pheno, and hopefully I’ll find it in F2, along with some shorter plants.

Check out how well they compact into the tent. Suspected short haze pheno bottom right in the picture. Extra short Malawi pheno next to it on the left. Mex Haze back left and some other pheno back right.

Mex Haze
Last up we have the Mex Haze. I’m not certain that the Thai pollen has impregnated her, but I have painted NMP and MxP pollen on some other branches.
She is a finicky PITA. Really grubbing for Calcium and Magnesium… it’s like playing whack-a-mole. I increased the Mg, and now I’m seeing Ca deficiencies. UGH. STOP WHINING.
She’s pissing me off, so I threw Calcium chloride in the res. Ca/Mg up, everything else down.

More Fun with Ace
More fun with ace coming soon. Got a few Panama Haze clones rolling the old fashioned way. They have not been easy to clone recently…
So I finally assembled an aero cloner using the Dewey mister I bought at least a year ago. Cool little device. Only requires an air pump, and it just sputters water out the top. I appreciate not having to keep a pump in the bucket, while I’m trying to keep it clean. Since I’m moving to ebb and flow soon, this will work out better for my needs… assuming it doesn’t give me trouble (it will).
Got my pool shock ready. Time to load it up with panama haze and see how it goes. Next pollen chucks on this gal will be Syrian, followed by some backcrosses.
I also found someone growing purple OT haze on icmag, which looks identical to this panama haze I’ve been running. Love the haziness, and the 12 week flower. So short for OT.

Gotta pick a direction and stick with it, right.
Hazey haze in a small frame, sounds great for those who can’t run outside.

Those NMP short phenos look dope!
A short hazy type would be great. How’s the scent on it?
That’s where I’m at. Decisions must be made! There aren’t too many sativas that would finish outside where I’m at, so my NLDs have to come from the tent. It’d be a shame to pass on this opportunity.
Well the really short one has a very fruity smell to it. I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s a little tart, maybe vaguely resembling mango? Really smells a lot like the Malawi/Panama to me.
The slightly taller one might be a haze pheno though. I could smell it very faintly on all 3 of the tall plants I culled today, and it smells similar. It’s less developed in smell, and if it’s like the haze pheno of super malawi haze, will probably run about a week or so longer. I’ll probably have a better indication next week of where it’s heading.

Panama Haze <3
These seeds are for finding males for my PH mom. A backcross, and incross and an outcross.
BX - Panama Haze x Malawi/Panama uses the same PH mom, with a Malawi/Panama male.
IX - Panama Haze x Acapulco Gold - I found 8 of these seeds in some seeds I got from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. Different PH mom, almost certain the AG is Bodhi.
X - Hazey High - some other randoms I found. The hazey high is Ciskei x OT Haze, so very similar to the Panama x OT Haze. The HH has an 11-13 week finishing time, similar to the 12 weeks from my PH mom. It’s going to be a little chaotic, since it’s a hybrid of F1s… but I’ll get a little help from the OT Haze being in both crosses. Should limit the number of phenos slightly and give preference to ot haze phenos, which is what my PH already is anyway.

NMP and Mex Haze
Pic 1 is Mexican Haze. 2,3,4 are NMP. Mexican haze is stacking pretty fat. I think she’s going to yield pretty well. The NMP are filling in a little more slowly, but also looking very promising for some good yields.
Bit of Ca deficiency from jacking with the Mg… hopefully back on track now with some ugly battle scars. Also realized my lux was up at 45k on some plants. Gonna back it down to the 35-40k range on the canopy for the week to take some stress off.
